A Budget Cue with a Carbon Fiber Shaft!? JFlowers Cue Review Part 1

  • J Flowers Cues are smashing into the US pool scene hard with budget-friendly cues that come with a Carbon Fiber Shaft for under $320! Can you believe it? An entire cue with a carbon fiber shaft is over $100 cheaper than a Predator Revo shaft (no butt)? I know it’s hard to believe. So, does this cue even play well? It wouldn’t be worth $1 if it played bad. Well check out this video and see what I think.
    Thank you all for the support and for watching!

    I hope everyone liked the video! This was my first full cue review and a budget one at that. It was nice to see what value is out there on the market. One thing I didn’t really hit on in the video is how does this compare to a premium brand. Well, you have to understand that budget cue is a product that’s trying to meet a market friendly price point. With that said, I think some of the higher end brands do bring a little more to the table BUT this cue is a no brainer at this price point. It plays well and the carbon fiber shaft is really good. Hopefully I didn’t say that too early since I haven’t done the in-depth testing yet. I will say this though, it’s a really good first impression on me so far. BTW, the is sound of the hit in the video as requested by the viewers, thank you for the feedback!

      Nice one. I didn't feel the JFlowers cue to hit like the Predator at all personally. I think the JFlowers shaft has more of a wood feel, I describe it as a cross between the Mezz Ignite and the Cuetec Cynergy shafts.

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@YaworskiPoolPractice Sorry, I didn't mean the hit itself is like the Predator. I meant the dimensions and the balance felt like a Predator (overall feel of playing with the cue as a whole). I probably have been more specific in the video. I can see where it may sound like I was saying the hit was like a Predator. I haven't played with the Ignite yet but I agree the hit feels more wood like and is more similar to the Cynergy. Thanks for the comment and for watching!

    Ive been playing a jflowers cue for the last 8 months and here is what ive noticed. I have a CF shaft and it isnt completely low deflection, it bends almost as much as a low deflection wood shaft, but way more consistent. But with all CF, the energy transfer is consistently higher, which means if you dont have a consistent stroke, your misses will be accentuated. So CF really isnt meant for beginning to average players.

      I have tried Zan Premium Softs a few times. Although the tip is of great quality and many friends of mine love them, it was too soft for me. I have been playing a standard deflection wood cue for many years and I want to go to carbon fiber. I have narrowed my search down to two cues, the CUPPA Technology Pool Cue with Low Deflection Carbon Fiber Shaft and the J.Flowers SABER 1 (Wrapless black) with the Aero Grade Carbon Fiber shaft.
    Both are about equal in price with the J.Flowers coming in a little more but the CUPPA cue also provides you with a nice semi hard case and a few accessories.
    I was hoping that someone here could give me some insight as to which would be the better option, if anyone has experience with either of these cues.
    Thanks a lot!

      @andrewvautour1795 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CrazyFlamesZero Hi Crazy! Well it was a hard decision made easier with the companies reputation (considering I could find almost nothing on CUPA). I went with the JFlowers Next Generation SABER 1 (Wrapless black, aero-grade carbon fiber shaft, 12.5 mm, 19 oz (I usually shoot 18 oz)) and have no regrets. It took a while to get used to the new cue, I never played with a carbon fiber, not even one game. The feel was very different but honestly it didn't take long and now I don't see myself ever going back to wood. It's like it was with Tennis, I played with wood for years and then the new graphite and composites came out and I dropped some hard earned cash on one. Yes, it felt different, yes I was not sure for a bit but then, I started to notice how it was improving my game and after not too long, it just felt right in my hand. This is EXACTLY the same, striking the ball, holding the cue, it all feels a little different at first, not uncomfortable, hard to explain, you just know something is..... different. But it does not take you long before you realize that your game has improved, you have more control on the cueball, your shots are more accurate, your power delivery, cueball finesse, everything improved, at least for me.
      I am very happy with this cue and if I could be a spokesman for the company I would (sadly I am not at that level yet). I think if you go with a JFlowers Next Generation, you won't be disappointed.
      Let me know what you end up doing!

      @@andrewvautour1795 - Glad you're happy with the JFlowers. I've played with the Konllen, Rhino, Predator P3, and a Crical carbon. Honestly, they are all pretty close and they hit fairly similarly. The Konllen is made in the same factory as the JFlowers from what I understand. I like the P3 a little better because the hit seem just a tad more soft (less vibration), but it may have been due to the soft Kamaui tip. The other cues has the standard tips that came with the cue. I'm not going to pay $1200 for a P3, so I will probably go with the JFlowers (Konllen) or the Rhino. The P3 did better than the JFlowers in the deflection test, but I don't think it justifies paying 4x the amount.
