I haven't got 4.22 yet, but I know the first thing I'd want to do is turn this obnoxious "feature" off and use the program like I want to use it, not the way marketing thinks I should. Instead how about speeding up rendering?
@Midnight.Prophets: If this is a serious question: I would prefer to avoid wizards, dialogue boxes, and the like altogether and start with a new, empty scene as is now the case. Over time I've organized my render presets, size choices, characters, etc. in a way that best serves my purposes. Being greeted each time by a popup offering options in which I have no interest just wastes my time. This isn't strictly a DAZ Studio issue. A few years ago someone seems to have decided that all consumer software should open with a "What do you want to do?" box that almost never lists the thing you actually want to do. Rather like the Nutrimatic dispenser insisting we enjoyed our cup of tea. One can't help but suspect that the main purpose of the feature is to deliver that ad.
Daz Studio deasn't use templetes, not like say Word. These are presets in short thay just scens or scene subsets. This why when you open a scene and clear that scene the render settings from you scene are still there. Word as templete Normal so when you start a new document you don't get say the front of the last document you used.
One appeal please, could you add simple sculpt feature with few brushes for hair and clothes. So i can do it all in daz, not in other softwares like zbrush or blender.
So, this isn't bad... per se... but why would I want any of this? These kinds of simple presets are not going to be useful to almost anyone. I just want to hit new scene and then, you know, set up my actual scene. Like, how often are you creating a floating character on a pure black background? You don't even see that in your promos in your store. This is a confusing and even pointless addition to the software.
I have this new v.4.22 installed, but for some reason when I open the new scene dialog box, under the templates tab all I've got is the New scene button, absolutely nothing else. How can I get all those presets shown in the video to appear for me?
@@edg5358 Thanks, but that's not my case. I can wait as much as I want, but still those templates do not populate the "New scene" dialog box ever. I haven't installed this new v.4.22 through DIM, but I grabbed the standalone installer for this newest version from my product library on DAZ3D's web. I don't know if that may have something to do with my issue. Anyway, I do not think it is a big deal. I know how to save different kind of presets to use them quickly at any time later on. I'm more curious than worried. :)
I had just got used to the new dialog but now it only has a New Scene element in it. I moved my content ( uninstalled, editted Content links, etc) but not sure why that removed all the new options within the new scene dialog. Any ideas on this would be very appreciated :-)
The old ghost light products work in 4.21, you just have to crank the intensity way, way up. The new ghost lights in 4.22 are not the same...watch the video on it.
Im not updating, heard of the bugs, and this feature is pointless for me, i have thousands of clothes, scenes etc, so scrolling through that mess would waste my time, the library works fine for me, and so does the new scene in 4.21
I fully regret updating 4.22 I can no longer export daz characters with geographs. Memory Access Violation. Otherwise, export works fine as long as I dont use geograph.
Hi there, sorry this is happening! Definitely a bug. Feel free to submit a ticket at this link and our customer service team will help you ASAP: bugs.daz3d.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
@zcnaipowered7407 took me a couple days to realize I still had 4.21 on my old laptop since I recently built a new pc. So I just moved the old installation over. Everything works again. Also, Submitted a ticket and DAZ never got back to me.
@@TheGuardian019 Pro tip I learned the haed way is always have a zip file of the previous version of Daz cause often the new update comes with new problems. I remember wanting to use a course I bought for lighting that featured ghost lights. I made the mistake of updating then I couldn't follow the course I bought cause ghost lights weren't working so I deleted the tutorial only for me to find out that downgrading makes ghost lights work on. Take about a huge Loss. So now I only update after other people have tested yhe update.
Daz3d is no good, many of the things i was able to do before the update stopped working, example converting animation works at conversion but once saved the saved file doesn't work, and there is many other things that don't work as well., i wish i could go back to daz4.21 it was the best.
With built-in ads? Hmmm...
As long as they're only for Daz3D I'm not bothered.
@@scott92596 I see it as test for future ads.

Thank you for this video ! However, this tutorial is not complete! Indeed, how do you create a template so that it appears in the explorer?
its 720p too, lol i make daz tutorials in 4K lol no bs 4K. I started 1080 then went up to 4K lol

why would you? you have your own library
I think I'll be staying in 4.21.

On my machine it takes a moment to load all of those presets. At first it only shows the New Scene Button.

This update is super buggy with lots of crashes, if you didn't update, don't do it.
Is there anyway to NOT have this new scene dialogue box come every damn time. It is no use to me.
