It's so enlightening to hear the finer points of professional level play, such as designing your sideboard not just to have cards for certain matchups but to have on-curve replacements for maindeck cards in certain matchups.
It may have been an error, but is it really necessary to have the sponsorship placed right in the middle during the deck tech?

Round 1 oppo here, glad to be part of your video, even though i got crushed. Probably I'm wrong, but the reason I misstep the vamp was cause I thought it would have been better in case you tutored for a non cmc 1 threat or a way to force through a threat you already had.
A small amount of editing would allow for us to not only see the sponsor BETTER but also see the cards by putting the logo in the white space. Not that hard.

Ha this is awesome. I have under world breach in my vintage cube. One of my friends assembled a storm deck and did this combo himself using LED and lotus petal.
The sponsor in the deck tech is a little obnoxious. It's fine to show the sponsor on the screen but you can't read the cards on mouse over or see the cards behind the sponsor watermark very well.

Great video, as always. While I understand the desire to properly thank sponsors, in this case, the watermark is preventing us from being able to see the cards in the deck. What are those black cards?

It loses to the pyroblast the opponent ended up having, but at 26:50 lsv could have tried for the win by DT-ing for a brainfreeze cracking the lotus, then casting breach with 0 floating, forcing the breach, then forcing his force, pitching fluster and gush. This way he would have 4 cards to exile to lotus to combo off.

Thank you for the free content. I'd complain about the font, sound quality, sponsor, editing, deck, etc but that would just make me seem like a spoiled, narcissistic ingrate.
At 37:00, when facing down the Standstill which you broke with Ancestral Recall, why not break it by casting Brain Freeze instead? Let them draw, and then they have to discard 3 cards, instead of just 1 card. And Brain Freeze is just about equally good in hand as it is in graveyard

Four maindeck Pyroblast? Isn't four like... a lot? What if you draw two of them against a non-blue deck? Can't you replace some of them with Thoughtseize, Daze, Flusterstorm, Mental Misstep, Spell Pierce, or something?
I play magic on arena and have a good time swimming in the shallow end. This makes my brain hurt.

I think you shouldn't have fought over your ancestral when you broke the standstill making them draw up to 10 cards, you made it so they didn't have to discard to hand size.

Thoes are the blue decks with force of negation and force of will most of the time. A lot of other decks are less than 400.

So I’m not huge into vintage or legacy. But can anybody explain to me why you counter cantrips?
It's best in Vintage specifically and the reason is, because the quality of each individual card is so high, saving your counter for what the opponent gets with the cantrip leaves them with better card selection and more information than countering the cantrip does.
Simple specific examples, if you don't Pyroblast the Preordain, they can bottom an excess combo piece, find Black Lotus, land or any other good non-blue card OR just have excellent information on how to sequence their spells for the highest benefit.
Honestly, I don't actually play Vintage but even from these games you can see just how good resolving cantrips is as a blue deck in this format. The perspective goes from, "let's see if Ponder resolves" to, "Oh, well this is awesome, how do I win from here?"

Like E. said, creature lands. It's really hard to deal with Standstill because of the way it's worded. You sacrifice it as the ability resolves, not as a cost. So Notion Thief? Just adds a second trigger to Standstill while it's still on the stack. Disenchant in response to your own Disenchant? Just adds another trigger to Standstill while it's still on the stack. No matter what, Standstill is going to trigger again and resolve before you can do anything to respond. This means the card is effectively "Sorcery, 1U: Draw 3 cards" because the best way to deal with it is to just make it crack right away and hope you can beat whatever 3 cards your opponent just drew.
The card got ridiculously better than it already was when planeswalkers came out. Playing a Jace, The Mind Sculptor onto an empty board and following it up with Standstill + Mishra's Factory means you opponent is in for a really rough time. Last time I played against the deck in a tournament, I only won by going faster and having more countermagic to setup a Tinker.
That ultimate guard ad in the deck tech is really annoying. You could at least put it in the corner so it's not blocking the cards.

Vintage is about cards in hand rather than board state. So yeah that was a close game
Yeah, that's vintage. Cards in hand, cards on the stack, and whether or not you can combo are pretty much what matter in Vintage. If you are playing a "fair" deck, subtract the combo phrase, and add in whether you have enough mana.
