    Well done for your versions. I used this pattern to teach my goddaughter to sew. It’s a great little pattern. I have also made the kimono several times. I made the top several times when I returned to sewing 10 years ago ,in liberty mostly as I could make it out of 80cms
    I don’t wear mine much now as have moved to a more loose fitting style but recently made the top in viscose as a coord set with the Safira trousers( tatb)It is certainly slouchier in viscose. This time I did the back button but sewed the opening due to time before my holiday. Most of my versions are without the opening. I made a size 12 based on a review I read on it by ‘handmade by Jane’ years ago. I also lengthened it 2 inches. It is a perfect beginner pattern. 😊

    Your tees are very pretty and your sewing is great. My I make a fitting suggestion? Choose your size by the Upper Bust measurement in order for the shoulders to fit properly. Then grade a size up, if needed, in the waist to hips. Also, and this is a necessary adjustment, do a full bust adjustment "FBA". There are many videos explaining a FBA because it is quite a common fitting adjustment. A bra cup size and a pattern cup size are not the same thing. I have NL6217. I have always worn a B cup in a bra. But I've learned that my sewing pattern cup size is a C cup. NL 6217 is a B cup pattern. Best wishes on your sewing journey. I've learned so much from TH-cam sewing videos. Thanks for posting yours.

      @@StitchRipRepeat I'm glad the information was helpful. I almost didn't send it as I didn't want to come across as critical. However, I made a lot of tops that were not quite right until I learned the cause. Best regards.

      The second one with the silver hearts is the one that kinda pulls across your bust line making it look too tight.

      @@lindaburnette2200 yes totally agree, that was the first one I made in stretch fabric so a bit of a toile really to see what needed altering 😊

      Which videos did you find that explained the “FBA” adjustments? I’m a 34D but I wear a size 4 to 6 depending on the style. I wear mostly tops and bottoms because there aren’t many commercially made dresses that will fit unless I make them. I’ve already ruined a couple pieces of test fabric trying different bust measurements listed on the back of the pattern. It helps if the pattern has multiple sizes but I’m finding that many of the companies start at a size 8.
      In high school back in the ‘70s I was less that 100 pounds but still wore a 34C. My mom made most of my clothes even my prom dresses because I was so hard to fit. Sixteen years ago I went through several emotional events and gained weight until I was close to 200. I didn’t have any problem finding clothes but my health suffered. It took a long time but it gradually came off and now I’m at 125 which is where my orthopedic surgeon wants me to be.
      I’m so sorry, I ran on and on. I really need someone’s help with how to adjust any pattern to fit my body.

    That is awesome! You are my hero! Lol. I’m a beginner and I want to do a top made out of quilting cotton. I like the 1st two tops where you just stitched them together with no fastener. By the 4th one, you were a pro! Thanks for sharing!

      Carolyn Coppola I love the fact you think I’m a pro, lol 😆 but seriously thank you for your kind words, I’m only new to clothes sewing as well so if I can inspire others to try it too then that’s amazing! I say ‘Go for it’ you’ll do great and it’s such a good feeling knowing you made this!! 👍🏻 x

    Such cute tops! I love New Look patterns. I’ve made the top from this one but would really love to make all the views. Your Liberty fabric is so pretty - it commands a king’s ransom in cost and I’m guessing it must be lovely to work with. Congrats on all your new tops!😃

    What is the mistake I can't see it. I am a new sewer, the few garments I have made have a number of mistakes, but to me they are not crappy fast fashion, they are my originals and I love wearing them.

    • @StitchRipRepeat
      @StitchRipRepeat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Margy B my mistake was I cut the fabric wrong on the first top and it had little pineapples on it, so they’re all upside down! Lol...good for you being proud of what you make, you’re absolutely right to be loving what you made 👍🏻😊
