- Steve is about as normal as you can get, in a good old fashioned Yorkshire way. He's me, he's you, he's the geezer you met on holiday and chatted about football with, he's the fella who you say hello every morning, the old boy you have a pint with on a Sunday, the chap who looks after your dog when you go away. He's the man you play snooker with or who delivers your parcels, early in the morning, just as day is dawning. This is the story of redundancy and the quest for a new life in the sun, finding a new profession far away in Thailand, living this new life blissfully for nearly two decades and then building a house up North. Soon, he will ride merrily off into the sunset with his queen to start another chapter. If Steve can do it, so can YOU, and this is how....
Living the dream indeed! We are considering Thailand as a possible home base and we are planning on coming back and exploring more of it. Hope you had a great birthday!
Thanks a lot. It's definitely a place worth considering. My son will be 18 soon and has loved growing up in Thailand. My birthday was full of good food, chat and laughter but no booze; just the way I wanted it 🙏🙏

Yeah, he may be having second thoughts - can't blame him. His friend approached me originally and said he really wants to tell his story... perhaps the CIA knocked on his door in the meantime ... DJ sent a message to ask me to remove two names from the interview, as they are still alive. I'll put it out this week sometime mate

No money for road trip at the moment but when I do, I will likely visit.... when it cools down a bit haha... I would do some ancient history stuff on the way (Phanom Rung, some khmer stuff and some ancient cave art).
Welcome to the wonderful city that is Buriram. I go to the football often and love the vibe here in this city. The price you paid for your home is about right for the area and no doubt it was well built. Anyway, hope you enjoy your new home and again, welcome to the city.

Morning JB, only 1 year mate but probably going to extend as the Pink line is up & running and there just finishing a new 7/11 near us and several new food vendors have opened up, so seems to be up & coming 🤷♂️
It's a great area to live. Fantastic food and markets around too. I will check out the new 'wetlands' area near Seri Thai Park in Beung Kum maybe today or tomorrow. I don't think it's open yet but I'll see if they will let me wander through.
