This was one of the best sitcoms of the 80s and 90s. It was controversial when it premiered on Fox in 1987. The show lasted ten years. A lot of men can relate to Al Bundy. He is a guy who probably had plans as a young man for a great life but life got in the way. It is also a show where we can look at and see there is someone who has life problems worse than ours.
10 years and 11 seasons + a few specials..... what do you mean probably? Al explained multiple times that he never wanted the life as it turned out, most notably his job at the shoe store was supposed to only last for 1 summer....
Was in High School when this started. Kelly was the BOMB on TV! I mean, it is what it is (or was). Watched it from the start and 20 years in syndication! Own it on DVD! One of the all time best "realist" shows ever!
Thank you Georgia for this reaction video. I have been an Al Bundy fan for many years. I still watch Married With Children when I can. It is a very funny show.
I remember watching reruns of Married With Children before school mornings when I was in middle school maybe 8 or 9 years ago, iconic then and iconic now lol so happy to see you react to him. There are plenty of Al compilations to react to out there I'd love to see those too.
I vaguely remember this show as a kid (I was only 3 when it premiered) but now as a 40 year old man, I can relate so much. I bought it on dvd and it’s one of the greatest sitcom’s of all time.
I watched this show every week when it first came out, loved this show, my ex wife hated it, AL spoke the truth about marriage way back then, I could so relate to Al's life
It wasn't actually British tea he was talking about, it was Chinese grown tea stolen from the British East India Company, and tossed in Boston Harbor at the famous protest known as the "The Boston Tea Party". It was credited as the protest that set off the chain of events that led to the American Revolution.
Dude, it’s not about how *I*take it or feel about it. It’s about how OTHERS do. And in this day and age -and to some degree even back then - people can be very bothered by that sort of thing.
The main thing to understand about Al is he's the born loser. No matter what happens in the show, Al's always going to wind up with the shit end of the stick. And that's why we all love it, because no matter how bad things are going in our lives, we could never have it as bad as Al. And his philosophizing is just the cry of those who spend their lives with little control or recognition. That's what makes them fantastic. Funniest show ever.
There’s an anime with a character that reminds me a lot of Al Bundy. The characters name is Gintoki Sakata from Gintama. Highly recommend. 367 episodes.
Which is why the perfect finale would’ve been for him to actually succeed. He invents a shoe insert for athletics - the two things he actually knows - and sells the rights to some big athletic company. But he can’t leave his family. He will always be “married, with children.”
I'd recommend checking out an entire episode. There are some that really stand out, such as "Who'll Stop The Rain", or "Peggy Turns 300", or "The Gypsy Cried".
"hot off the grill", "the camping trip", "a three job, no income family", "banking on Marcy" and, of course: "her cups runneth over" 😈😏 My little 'contribution' to your post 👌🏻💫
I don't know the name of the episode, but there was a two parter, where Al and his friends tried to install a sattelite dish on Al's roof. At the end, all of their wifes were sitting at the kitchen table and bet, who of their men will fall down and how 😁
People used to laugh at themselves and give it back and then shake hands. Now humour makes people 'lose their self esteem'. I got cancelled this week for 2 jokes I made on the spur of the moment : 1) someone actually asked if I had Alapacea....so I said "I don't have any mountain animals", 2) someone said "do you suffer from asthma?" So I replied "only when I try spelling it". On both occasions I got told it was inappropriate to do jokes about people who suffer with hair loss and that I would upset people who have asthma. Has the world gone mad?
The problem with the “greatest insults” videos is there are a lot of chicken jokes in them. If you haven’t seen the show from the very beginning you won’t get any of those jokes. The reason Al calls Marcy a chicken starts almost right away in the first season of the show and then the jokes continue for 11 years. I haven’t seen a single reactor that understands them.
Happy to have a new reaction video from you. I actually enjoy your rambling! I'm very surprised you cut that long beautiful hair. But you know what? The shorter hair looks just as lovely. Looking forward to more reactions.
So, A++ on your improvement. I refrained from comment or liking your first Al Bundy reaction for the reasons you said others did. You listened to feedback and made improvements. Great Reaction. I am now subscribed. Onya! and g'day from Australia

Our family also never had a pool. My dad did have a dream about it. Even had a large hole dug in our summer cottage for it, but for decades it would just gather weeds. Then one day, when my dad was in his late 60's, he finally decided to realize his dream. He made the plans, drew the schematics, built the molt, ordered a cement truck to fill it (it almost ended in disasters because of leaks), but quick fixes salvaged the situation, connected the pool to the old well, installed the water purification system, filled it with freezing cold water from the bosom of the Finnish ground and made the rest of us swim in that pool that turns your genitalia into icecubes.. So the moral of the story, you don't need to be rich to realize your dreams. You just have to be prepared to freeze your family members in an ice cold pool.
