Have you seen the joy on their faces in the art for the upcoming collection? Those are the faces of two friends who are so happy to see each other again after so many years
Thanos threatening to kick Max in the nuts for all eternity had me laughing for years, I don't remember that deleted version with "I'm gonna tap that"😂
@@SilkyLew basically it depends on if they have other hair colour genetics in their dna. if they do a blonde hair colour can naturally change to become a combination of their parents hair colour. I really hope they bring back the tradition of the physical releases for Fighting Collection having an alternate cover drawn by a Marvel Comics artist like how the key art is from a Capcom artist. Marco Checchetto or Leinil Francis Yu on MvC art would be incredible
@Jolene007 Lee is probably next to impossible at this point considering he's basically running DC Comics at this point but I'd be so down for Yu or Copiel doing something in the vein of House of M
I *highly* encourage it! From what I remember, at least the early vids were Max doing focused tutorials about specific characters in the game, framed with irreverent tongue-in-cheek skits starring Max and a parody freeloader version of Dr. Doom. As much as they could, each time Max taught about a new or different character they would bring in a new costume or cosplayer to play a parody version of that character. It became so popular that when Capcom was getting ready to release Ultimate MVC3, they reached out to Max and hired him to make a series of Assist Me! videos about the new characters appearing in it. I *still* remember a joke from one that had me laughing hard out loud for half a minute. They were able to make several seasons, and I believe the majority--if not all--can be found as playlists on this channel.
Tbf, not showing thanos face makes him more intimidating and more unique on camera, he quite literally forces the camera to move in a deliberate way for him, so I get why marvel liked it (tho imo his face was fine).
WAIT A MINUTE MAX! You have yo give me a shoutout. I have been following you for years to know this is COC parking lot. I went here for awhile and even worked in the library. Plus I use to see one of your YoVideoGames friends (Unroolie) in the school arcade when he was going there as well. Good times and good memories
LMAO Was that the COC campus parking lot in the assist me video? I thought it looked familiar until I saw the sign. It looks so different now, like night and day 🤣
They put a classic fighting game arcade machine in at my work and it's got a ton of Street Fighter games and Marvel vs. Capcom I didn't grow up in the fighting game world but I appreciate it and it makes me happy seeing it.
Embarrassing or not, that was actually a pretty cool video you did back in 2012 Max! Also, Thanos is pretty sweet and thanks for sharing the MVC Robot Chicken vide Never seen that before!😂
How nostalgic. I followed Max back in 2011 in my early college days. Dude, assist me was how I found your channel. This was around the same time Pewdiepie was doing amnesia and theradbrad early days. In my opinion was the TH-cam golden days.
Watching this video brought soooo many memories! I went to College of the canyons around that time and when I would ditch class I was always at FFA (when I wasn’t at work lol) God I miss that arcade 😭😭😭😭
Petition to bring back assist me for the Marvel vs Capcom fighting collection. (All seriousness, I completely understand if Max doesn't have the time, resources, or generally just doesn't want to do stuff like that anymore in general)
I had no idea that Whilce Portacio did the art for Marvel vs Capcom Origins. I forget the story but I think at some point Whilce had gone through a series of tragedies in his life and had to re learn how to draw. So during this time period I'm just assuming he probably didn't need to be encouraged to unlearn two decades of practice. He already wasn't the same artist anymore. As for Jim Lee it's evident that his art had a big influence on many Japanese artists, one of them being Nobuhiro Watsuki of Rurouni Kenshin fame. In many of the Kenshin collected volumes he often would write about being a fan of Lee's. One of his most prized possessions is a coin that was dropped during an interaction he had with Jim.
So was FFA the SoCal version of Chinatown Fair? That's pretty awesome. And man....that Assist Me video took me back!! I cried laughing at the Thanos makeup 😂😂😂
TIL Jim Lee used to stream a lot. I bet he had a lot of insight to share about his time spent with the loony-ass Frank Miller on All-Star Batman & Robin lmao
I will never be able to watch the entirety of the Assist Me series but that Thanos actually wasn't terrible. It's gonna be interesting to see if Marvel and Capcom does anything marketing wise for the collection.
Dood I was having a Google about the roster in mvc 2 and your named on Wikipedia as the original spark that started the flame and are basically responsible for bringing back this masterpiece to modern consoles I think a tip of the hat is in order you have outdone yourself thank you max thanks a million Dood🫡
For the budget you had, you slam dunked this stuff. Also, R.I.P. FFA. There was FFA, Golfland, and Arcade Infinity (although the latter was more a music game joint, there was still a lot of quality fighters there)
I just got done playing Bolth of these games 100% it’s a great collection, even though I’m not very good at MVC, I still held it together enough to beat the game with everybody. Regardless of what kind of an experience it was the end product was great and I’m glad that it exists.
They could've gotten any exceptional artist on Twitter that's proficient with Marvel characters/style to have made a great cover for MVC: Origins, lll.
Whos up Marveling their Capcom right now?
Who up delaying they hyper combo
You better believe it
I’m canceling my super with x-factor
She tag on my assist until I snap back
Can’t wait to advance my guard
"That time I got reincarnated as Marvel character for a Capcom ad"

At least as legit as some isekai titles in anime nowadays. XD

Best MVC2 combination art. They are coming back. I can’t wait.

I can't believe Max predicted Thanos Truck
Is travguy
Max:"l'm never showing this to Ripley"😂
"I'm gonna tap that" should be up there with "The hardest choices require the strongest wills" as one of Thanos' best quotes imo XDDD
The original Assist Me! videos for MVC3 was how I found your channel
I found Maximillian via his Boss Rage videos, Asura’s Wrath!
Same here! Benny as Amaterasu was >chef's kiss
Big same with assist me for Marvel 3 as I got on.
Same here
Amen
I used to call him "Thane-ohse" until I noticed that in his MvC2 taunt he says: "Thanos reigns!"
Max's hair in the back to the future skit can only be iterated with the word luxurious...

Answer: Whatever genees they inherited from their parents.
Captain Commando being a villain is genuinely the funniest shit to ever be salvaged from the assist me series
The original MvCO trailer was absolutely goated when it came out, the timing of the announcer and using the old music was really good.
They were really on something with that trailer, went back to watch it after the MvC Collection announcement
24:23 A wave of nostalgia hit me. All the old arcades are gone now.
This is harada Twitter thread levels of knowledge that I appreciate thank you dood
when Max says "I LOVE this trailer, man - look at this!", and youtube ads immediately plays a trailer for the first descendant.

Leinil Francis Yu, Olivier Coipel, or Jim Lee would be perfect
A Gurihiru cover would be sick.

@@icedcapplord710 Yeah I don’t realistically see it happening for any of the artists I mentioned, it’s just fun to imagine what they’d make
The Robot Chicken skit was hilarious
It's not a Robot Chicken skit, though.
Max is really a significant presence for Fighting games in general. Not just in Marvel vs Capcom, But many other games like Killer Instinct.
Oh no, Ripley will definitely see this in a couple of years.
The thanos costume looked amazing! I have no clue how Marvel didn't like it! It was 2011 and you couldn't have possibly 3D mapped Josh Brolin's face!
That redone Megaman 2 Boxart looks really good!
Old dooderino Max cringing on young dood Max is adorable
Marvel vs. Capcom collection can't come fast enough.
I watched a ton of Jim Lee streams during covid. The man was amazing.

I would like to think that the Disney M.O.D.O.K. (TV series) was made just because of those Marvel vs Capcom stop-Motion shorts
Super interesting stuff Max. I didn't start watching your content until years after so it's fun hear you talk about it.
That thumbnail. Lol.
