Everytime Dead Rising is mentioned I have to brace myself for Max's Frank West slander 😭
I know right? What’s up with that? He covered wars!
Its guile win quote
Probably because Frank replaced Leon Kennedy in Tatsunoku VS Capcom because Keiji Inafune told the devs to do so.
@@MrFutago87 Absolutely based decision.
@@MrFutago87 that is the worst thing i've heard in awhile, that guy is the worst
My dad would have LOST his mind! Miss you dad. 🕊
I am sorry for your loss.
R.I.P.🥀
R.I.P. 😔
My heart hurt after reading this. I'm deeply sorry
Cyclops dlc for sf6
Free MARVEL: Mission Complete!
Add Color edit, rematch option (or char/assist change), Ratio mode, the Japanese only online lobby music, new stages/character portraits: Mission START!
does putting it on Xbox count as extra credit?
Now let's get Capcom's ALIENS VS. PREDATOR brought back!
@@LucLightWolf121 Disney owns both now so it's possible.
Current Mission: Make MvC I look and feel better
Next Mission: MVC 4
Ryu and Cyclops upgraded from the cordial handshake to the dap up. You love to see it.
It's like old friends reuniting after years apart. It's quite the tearjerker when you really think about it.
Even Sakurai copied the XMvsSF handshake in Smash Ultimate with Sora and Mario.
I don’t care if the the world is ready, make the new marvel 4 V 4!
Fighters Generation was my gateway into fighting game lore, and art back in the mid 2000's. I was absolutely obsessed with that website at one point in my life.
To this day whenever I find a new cool looking fighting game, Fighter's Generation still is the best source to find things like artwork and characters portraits.
Before the FGC had Wiki/Google/Etc., we had Fighter’s Generation. S/O to Frank Yagami for keeping up with his site 😎👍❤️
Spent so much time on Fighters Generation as a teen, I'm glad it's still going strong
The OG goat. Discovered around 25 years ago, and still going strong.
I have to commend Justin for the discipline it took to not just toss the baby and start rolling around like it was EVO Grand Finals
Let's hope for a Street Fighter oddities collection:
- Alpha 2 Gold
- Alpha 3 Max
- Hyper Alpha
- The EX series
- The Movie the game
- The Interactive movie
- Slotter Up Core 7 - SF2
Sf2 rainbow edition ❤
Actually insane to hear the voice behind Fighters Generation after browsing that site for years-as far back as looking at Shuma Gorath sprites on my grandma’s dial up desktop when I couldn’t have been older than six
As an Xbox user I was absolutely devastated when I learned the collection wasn't coming to the platform. Watching that trailer made me feel like Ralph before and after he proclaimed his love for Lisa... 😭
This highly-anticipated Triple KO episode is gonna be...Marvel-ous!
...I'll see myself out...
Lame joke
Funny enough, even the games themselves consistently make use of that pun for certain levels of the combo counter.
Cyclops is so happy to be back he had to skip the handshake and went with the dap up!
I was just on Fighters Generation to grab some Marvel Super Heroes animated stage art to make my wallpaper to celebrate. Shoutout to Frank and all the staff for making that badass website
OMG Frank Yagami!!! I spent hours upon hours on his website when it was still called Gamegen, I'm glad Max and the gang invited him to the show, definitely a legend!
I haven't been into MvC much (I only played UMvC 3 and MvCi) but I knew how big MvC2 coming back was, I genuinely got excited because I always wanted to play the classic MvC games
MVC2 used to be a mobile game and outside of piracy it is the only way anyone I know under 30 has played it
23:07 "People are gonna learn..."
Justin: ;D
This Triple K.O.-The Fighters Generation is just as big a crossover as Marvel vs. Capcom, and I'm all for it
Marvel Vs Capcom is a huge reason why I love Marvel now and then. I'm so excited about this collection release!
Finally. The ultimate guest arrives. This is now hands down the single greatest video of all fighting game history. Literally the entire mount Rushmore of fighting game community legends all in one stream together.
Thank you, everyone who worked to make this happen!
Frank is an effing legend! He already had a great FGC website when I was a snotty kid looking for wallpapers, gifs and advice on how to be a pimp from Birdie.
You are the man, bro!
1:30:34 I'll do it for you, Matt.
IT'S MAHVEL, BAYBEE!
The return of Marvel versus Capcom. Ready! Fight! Keep rocking baby.
I feel like a collection is great but a new game would be a bad idea considering the amount of bad movies Disney and the MCU are making nowadays.
@@dee_dee4640considering infinite came out during the peak of the mcu, and was doa, you’re just wrong. The movies don’t play a part
I see you bern playing alot of Capcom vs Snk 2.
MvC4 is now possible!
now we need capcom vs snk 2 back!
Fighters Generation has long been my favorite fighting game website, because it has always been a celebration of the genre. It's had a place in my bookmarks since I was still using Netscape.
I've been wanting them to do an episode talking about the Fighters Generation and talking to Frank ( Mr. TFG ) Ever since they started this podcast.
Hearing "IronMouse" and it's not about the VTuber got me so confused.
NOW'S MAHVEL!
AAAAHHHH!!! FRANK YAGAMI!!! HOLY SHIT!! Dude! This guy! THIS LEGEND! I obsessed over your sanctuary of awesome, seriously! If you ever read this Frank, you're like the Atlas to my view of the FGC--you've held and shared this passion for fighting games up like the "marvel" that it is and seriously, you're one of my heroes. Forgive me if Im laying this on thick, but sincerely; Ive always appreciated your opinions from Frank's Review on characters and games. Your genuine approach to your interest has inspired me for a life time--thanks for being (beyond) awesome!
Now that is an episode to remember. It's a delight to see Frank over there, who has been internet's prophet of fighting games for as long as I can remember. In fact, he would be a damn fine addition to the team (quadruple K.O.?)
Holy hell, Fighters Generation. That's a name I haven't heard in a LONG time. Glad to see its legacy is still going strong even now.
23:57 As a 21 year old, MARVEL IS BACK BABY I LOVED THIS FRANCHISE AS A KID MY DAD HAD A COUPLE OF THE OLD GAMES! 🎉
Glad to see that Frank made it into this! I have been a fan of his site for many years! And congrats on the new baby coming.
But yea, I am so stoked for MvC Fighting Collection!
Oh hey, here it is. MvC Collection coming with an RKO out of nowhere. Now that the collection is happening I regret not saying they should include AvP in there too. Now it's gonna be kinda tough to sell that one, cause not much to bundle it with.
47:25 Literally Fantastic Four team. Let's go!
Also, I would love for some WB heads to see the success of MvC and be like: "Do we have anything like this?" and then some guy goes: "Well, we have Mortal Kombat. It's got enough games for at least two bundles". Then they release the 2D MKs: 1, 2, 3, Ultimate 3 and Trilogy and the 3D MKs: 4, Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon, with Shaolin Monks and maybe even Mythologies and Special Forces for the memes.
33:21 spooky sounding DooD
Matt unlocking some buried memories with that ironmouse shrine site.
Insane to see this video exist, Frankie is an awesome human being in person and is a regular player in the Soul Calibur 2 scene in my local venue (currently my bracket demon) so sick to see a legend play in person!!
Proud to be regular visitor of Frank's site since the first days. Great to see him as guest.
Oh shit Frank Yagami. Fighter's Generation is one of the sites that got me into Fighting Games.
My thinking for a new, 2D fighting collection is the following:
-Alpha 2 Gold
-Alpha 3 Max
-Darkstalkers Chronicle The Chaos Tower
-Saturday Night Slam Masters
-Muscle Bomber Duo
-Ring of Destruction
-Sengoku Basara X
-Capcom Fighting Evolution
-Mega Man The Power Battle
-Mega Man 2 The Power Fighters
Free MVC2 is finally completed!
Now, time for Free CVS2.
I still constantly go for Fighter's Generation for image references, background art, concept art etc
Love hearing matt talk about Beat Em' Ups 😂
The Fighter's Generation was the go to site for fighting game nerds back then. Crazy guest to have on the show!
Bringing back Marvel, and including the classic Punisher Beat 'em up with it. This collection might as well have been called "the Triple KO pack".
Fighters Generation is a great website also super excited for Marvel Vs Capcom Fighting Collection,Here's Hoping for Capcom Vs SNK Fighting Collection and Brand New Marvel Vs Capcom :D
Frank Yagami's Fighter's Generation website is my all time favorite fighting game source of information and fan artwork.
Frank Yagami!!! Man I’ve been going to his website for fighting game lore LITERALLY since I was in 8th or 9th grade. I STILL visit that site and I’m 40 now lol
MAHVEL IS BACK BABY
Frankie Yagami is a legend. I first encountered The Fighters Generation back in the early 2000's and have been a regular visitor ever since. I'd always hoped he might one day be a special guest on TKO so this is a dream come true.
Can't believe that it was CASUALLY announced in a damn Nintendo Direct
Nintendo was like "oh yeah, here's an MVC collection. Moving on..." It certainly caught people off guard and got some glorious reactions.
Of course! It made me more excited than M&L Brothership, I won't lie.
Oh my god it's The Fighters Generation. He was a being of myth and legend for me back in the day.
I wonder if the owner of Madman's Cafe might drop by one day
This shit doing numbers
I hope so!
We are witnessing the Mount Rushmore of FGC news and content! Really happy to see Frank mixing it up with Triple KO!
I'm a little older, but Fighters Generation helped me so much when in got into MAME back in 2003-4? and was going to build a home bar. Frank had so much info on the best games I knew which ones I wanted to play and seek out. Thank you for having him on the podcast and as an old head I very appreciate you guys podcast!
Quick question, will we ever see a modern port of Martial Champion? I remember the day our arcade got it and loved it for what it was. Unfortunately, Frank didn't get to say much and did not feel like a "guest".
Yessss!! The episode I’ve been waiting for to talk about The Game we’ve all been waiting for!!!!
Great guest 🤜💥
It has been a long while since I last checked Fighters Generation. Back then I used to save all the images there on diskettes or burn them on CDs while at work as my home internet was very crappy. I have all those pics arranged and saved neatly in a folder.
Been so looking forward to the post announcement episode. Feels like being in a room with my friends. Seriously love this podcast.
The acid starts hitting at 33:40
The world is a better place when CAPCOM decides to give a shit.
When I cosplayed Iori, I went to TFG to look at the sprites of his moves so that I can look decent when people ask to take videos and photos. 😂
And recently, I had nothing to do at work so I took some sprites from the site and added it to our Slack workspace emotes. Haha
Thank you for keeping the website alive for the FGC, Frank!
Man I love it when Matt brings up the cg shrines. lol
OH SHNAP! TFG FRANK!!! This site was a MAAAASSSSSSIVE reason i make art today! absolute legend. the stories and the opinions haha! i learnt so much about games i could never play! thank you frank!
33:45 ECHOES... is that a prophecy? XD
Very good and legendary episode. Happy to see Frank up there his site has been the cornerstone of my teenage and adult years
Frank Yagami casting devilish glances my way
🎶 I'm gonna take you for a ride (Da-da... da-da)
I'm gonna take you for a ride (da-da... da-da) 🎶
OH MY GOD TFG!!! It was super helpful whenever I wanted to see sprites from 3rd strike!!! Thank you, you absolute legend!!!
I am soooooo starstruck! Frank is such an fgc icon!!
To all my friends who didn't Believe me and doubt my faith in my favorite game series. " I Told You!!! Marvel is Back Baby".
I remember using Fighters Generation for knowing my favorite characters and using references for artwork. It’s crazy seeing him FINALLY getting the platform ! This man’s a legend! 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯
The legacy of the MvC saga is legendary. Those of us who lived it, we know. Each game delivered something amazing, uncanny, and astonishing. To see it return, plus for a new generation. This is a gift
30 years. The animation, character designs, the gameplay, the move sets, and the music. Every entry made it special.
Welcome back MvC, missed you old friend
Frank, I agree with you
"Henshin-A-Go-Go-Baby!!"
Btw congrats on becoming a dad
So much of my gaming life was defined by the Marvel vs Capcom series, practically every entry means something to me in some way 🥰
It's a story of our lives, where it began, it grew, and evolved.
Been waiting for this one! Love the podcast, gentlemen!!!
I love Fighters Generation! I find myself scrolling through it all the time.
I want a Capcom vs SNK Collection & Tatsunoko vs Capcom Remastered as well.
Really enjoyed this, brings back great memories! 👍👍👍👍🤜🤛
This was a great podcast episode!
Crazy to think we are here!
Now we just need a Capcom 3D collection with rival schools and Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Yepp, found some cool Iconic Terry Animated GIFs recently, and the site was the same..so this is the dude, Cool. Fighters Generation💯
probably the best fighting game site out there
Thanks guys
Man what a time to be alive indeed lol. Great podcast Everyone and thank you mr. Yagami for TFG! Shoosh...
Max and Justin are exaggerating a tad concerning how MvC2 was received early. Yes, there absolutely was some rumbling about the lack of direct access to medium attacks (I know I was annoyed at first) and it was initially thought that the game would lose tactical depth due to that. But it _quickly_ became clear that the new setup provided as much, if not more depth than the previous control setup, as the assist systems meant that the game was a true 3 on 3, compared to previous titles which were just 1 on 1 on 1 on 1. No one ever actually called the game "trash" after they played it for a little while (maybe Eddie Lee, the King of MvC1 did since he didn't quite make the transition, but the majority of players embraced MvC2 pretty much from day 1). Yes, the lack of individual endings sucked, but even back then, no one played the Vs. games for the arcade endings.
But the music? Yeah. The music was HATED on release, and was hated for YEARS. I was one of the haters. The light jazz crap that replaced the awesome character themes did NOT go over well with _anyone_. _No one_ liked the music and was 100% believed to be the worst aspect of the game, so much so that later, players hacked in their own soundtrack, with the character select screen ("Gonna Take You For a Ride") being particularly despised with its monotony.
I honestly don't know when things flipped around and people started genuinely liking the soundtrack and Gonna Take You for a Ride became beloved, to the point that it came back in altered form in MvC3. In retrospect, it is the _weirdest_ thing about MvC2, that the one thing that was disliked about the game from day 1 became yet another part of it to be loved.
And yet, here we are. Even I love the soundtrack now. Wow.
I never liked the switch to 3D backgrounds either, always thought they clashed with the sprites, and with the music being random jazzy stuff it always felt a bit less badass than the previous entries. Pretty much felt the same with CvS 2 as well.
Man I love fighters generation. It's crazy it's still up after all these years
This gathering is a lot of fun.
I been WAITING for this episode!!!!
I have a retort to Justin’s point. I grew up in Northern Mexico and MvC2 was huge. It was featured in almost every “big screen” arcade I went to and it always had a huge crowd during its heyday.
Max, you don't have to explain the hype to us Nintendo players. We've been around for every Smash guest character announcement. Trust, we get it.
I've seen people literally cry for Sora. We get it.
Oh Ironmouse, a site I have not heard in so long. So important to my teenage up brining in the late 90s/early 2000s.
The fact my man mentioned Viewtiful Joe & GodHand!? Cmon! Much respect to Clover, but I’m sure it COULD happen!
That fifty bucks Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection way too rich for my blood, gonna wait for heavy discount.
Brah! When mvc2 was out in arcade I was a regular haunt at Tampa lanes. The competition was bananas! RiP Pete who managed Tampa lanes.
I'm from Latin America, and here the games that run in CPS's are popular, not in the same level that KoF, but they are loved. In contrast, not many people played Marvel vs Capcom 2 in arcades because not many places could afford a Naomi. But when the PS2 got cheaper, MvC2 could be played in a regular basis and the game gained great popularity, in a time that the arcade scene was decreasing. Now the FGC here in Brazil is happy to see these games gaining attention now. Sorry for the bad english and congrats for the work.
Since Capcom and Marvel are doing well together again, then maybe it's about time we got a 1st ever re-release of Capcom's Alien Vs. Predator. A game locked in the arcades for literally 30 years.
Same goes for Cadillacs & Dinosaurs as well.
FYAGAMI!!!!! It is so cool you got him on the show! I love him!
My personal hope for a proper MVC4 is for Capcom to take a page from skull girls and allow each player to have their choice of 1-3 characters for their team with some slight stat adjustments to accommodate based on team size.
I really wished CAPCOM pushed the level forward on promoting The Punisher, because it's a great game.
Here in Brazil, back in the day, we had an overdose of CADILLACS & DINOSAURS, the other huge beat-em-up that appeared on the arcade.
Captain Commando, The Punisher and Cadillacs & Dinosaurs were the top 3 beat-em-ups. But for some reason Cadillacs were more popular here.
Maybe it's Hannah's attributes of maybe Mustapha being a black dude.
Not for Xbox was heartbreaking and was an Equal Feeling to Thanos Winning...... I hope you all enjoy! Maybe one day i can to. I got Dead Rising DR at least.....😮💨
