My son just purchased a 73 Bertram that has had a complete retro fit almost identical to this project. No easy task.

Man, I would love to see what has been done to improve these 31's!! I few notable mods we are tackeling: reduced shaft angle from 14-10.4 degree, all composite stringers, heat extractions system, upgraded running gear, Volvo Penta D4 @ 300hp and more. We are very excited to see what performance gains we earn from these changes!!

Can you give some detail on the black paint?

Nothing special really. Just some fast drying enamel. Used to cost $2-3. Look for the least expensive spray paint in a can and just fog the surface you intend to sand. Wait about 10 minutes. While sanding, imperfections will easily show and you can continue to sand or fill them later if needed. Thank you for watching!!
