I love the people who commit serious crimes, like bank robbery or murder, then brag about it on social media.
Guys, you know the police have access to social media, don't you? Apparently not. A cop once told me, We don't catch the smart ones. I asked him, "So I should go into a life of crime?" he said, "You have a friend who is a cop. Don't be stupid."
I realized he had a point.

A certain public figure even talked about bribing the police an interview that has no doubt been watched by millions of people. If the FBI have the authority to do anything in Romania, I’m surprised they haven’t knocked on his door yet.

    • @erictaylor5462

@@allisond.46 The FBI doesn't have jurisdiction outside the United States. They can however work in cooperation with non-US law enforcement agencies, including Interpol. Interpol is sort of like the FBI but they have jurisdiction in 195 member countries.
Interpol concerns itself mostly with international law, but they do work to coordinate investigations between agencies such as the FBI or the RCMP.
For example the FBI, RCMP, and Indian federal police agencies are working together to stop phone scammers.

There was this girl in high school (probably like 19-20 years old) who would post every day complaining about her inability to get pregnant. She would rant and rave and always complain about how lots of mothers who don't deserve children have perfectly working ovaries, while she would be an amazing mother but is having fertility issues. One time her cousin replied "again with the pity party", and a full blown Facebook fight occurred in the comments. It was very entertaining to watch.
Then later she finally got pregnant, and she kept posting pictures of her baby bump and ultrasounds, and she even commented on her stretch marks and said how amazing they looked. Then when the baby was finally born, she inevitably took countless photos of her new baby every day. She even posted pictures of a refrigerator full of bottles of breastmilk that she pumped.
She almost never posted about anything other than her baby.

Not quite the same thing, but I was working at a resturant and one day this girl just starts bawling out of no where super distruaght after she just got her food, I asked if everything was ok and her boyfriend told me she just found out her sister had died in a car accident that day. I felt really bad, like to find something out like that in public over the phone and not around family has got to hard. The part where the daughter found out of her fathers death while sropping for breakfast reminded me of that incident.

My mom got PISSED on fb one time cause another mom was posting in our trailer park group that a older teen boy was perving on her daughter, then proceeded to talk to a third mom about their kids, going on vacation, their ages, which trailer they lived in, ect. My mom chewed them out saying they were gonna get their little kids kidnapped with that shit. Also the dude's dad popped up at one point apologizing and explaining his son had something that basically made him mentally like a little kid.

This reminds me of my mom. When my grandmother passed away she forced me to not only take photos of her dead body but also record them pushing her body out the the hearse to be cremated. Like, I could have refused but my mom was going threw a lot and this did seem to make her a little happier. Also, yes, those pictures and video did end up on her Facebook.

    • @101Volts
      @101Volts 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Lizz85257 It's a bit of an old tradition, I guess, going back to the later 1800s. Victorians took photos of dead bodies all propped up and dressed up to still look alive. (Reasons below, read more.)
While this certainly opens doors to great concepts for horror stories, the real reason for it is that in those days, photographs were expensive. People didn't take photos a whole lot, so they often didn't have a photo of a loved one. So when someone died without a photograph, surviving members better get an "emergency" corpse photographer in NOW, especially on a hot day.

When I was 17 I caved and finally joined Facebook (I still have it now but almost rarely use it, and it’s now mostly just sharing ads from the local grocery store, events at the bowling alley, or reposts from my Instagram, which I also seldom use nowadays, but I digress). I tended to “overshare” but not in a way described in the video. If I found a picture or meme I really liked, I would share it over, and over, and over again. Nobody said anything to me but I’m sure it might’ve mildly annoyed some people lol

My father's cousin is exactly like that aunt. When our beloved paternal grandmother (her aunt) died, she shared it on Facebook the instant she heard. My parents had been waiting until my brother got off work that night to call him, so that he wouldn't be distracted during the day; instead, he found out from an emoji-laden Facebook post during a break in the middle of his 12-hr shift.
This same cousin has an autistic son; she posts pictures of him posing with the waitresses at Hooters, because she thinks it's funny. (He doesn't have the mental capacity to understand what's going on.) When her ex-husband (the father of her son) died, his new wife got so fed up with her crap that she blocked her on Facebook. Cousin assumed that meant she was prohibiting her from going to the funeral, and then proceeded to bellyache about *that* on Facebook for the next few days.

One girl I knew who would blast ANYONE, random strangers included, who she felt didn't agree with her or "interfered" with her (DANGEROUS) way of thinking and a lot of the ranting was incoherent and she posted every curse word over and over and over and over but not in a logical way. Who says the F bomb and C word 27 times in the same sentence with random other words in there? It was really weird and pretty disturbing but I did not stick around her at all.
Why was she dangerous? She'd fall head over heals for the next man that came into her sight and after a few weeks she'd move on to the next one cause that guy (most of the time MARRIED guy who she'd hope would dump the wife for HER) wouldn't acknowledge her advances. It got to the point where if she was confronted she'd use her "Karate knowledge" to prove that you're wrong. A.k.a. beating you violently means that she's right. She was kicked out of all her Karate programs btw.
Mind you she did all this in the name of God. *FACEPALM!* I'm certain she would have physically tried to hurt me if she found out I was a gay man.
Anyway, she'd post some of those things on her facebook too and in very embarrassing detail yet could NEVER understand how anyone could even think bad of her. I felt bad for the several men, a pastor of a church included, she went after. Cringe and shiver to the max!

Or a different friend who does the whole 'what would you do if I just disappeared forever' and the daily 'woe is me, I'm lonely boo hoo' but refuses any kind of help.

I'm not one who gets uncomfortable about sex, it's just sex after all, but when people I know (like youtubers or such) start talking about it, I get super uncomfortable because it's like "DUDE! I [do what people do with their created content]! I don't wanna think about your getting your jollies off!". Happens every time without a doubt.

I've unsubbed from countless youtubers because after a while their channel became a narcissistic outlet to overshare about their personal life or other bullshit that has zero relevance to why people subscribed. It's not as scandalous as airing dirty laundry on twitter or boomerbook, but jeezus show some token professionalism and respect for your family.

I don't think it's bad to post about your excrements tbh. Is this significantly less interesting than usual social media posts topics ? You went there, you did that, you pooped, whatever. Even posting about your sex life, why not. It's not that interesting either but why would it be a taboo activity ? I don't especially want to hear about it either but do i want to know about your last meal or walk ? Rarely. We all post the same boring things. Adding excrements or sex to it doesn't make that much of a difference in the end...
