I’m a 32 year old female. Today I went to McDonald’s by myself and ordered a happy meal. The girl at the counter asked me if I wanted the toy. Yeah, I want the toy. It’s the whole point of getting a happy meal.

My husband tries to embarrass me in the supermarket by yelling out “DO WE NEED HAEMORRHOID CREAM” or “DO YOU HAVE PLENTY OF VAGISIL?” or something to that effect.... it’s funny and mortifying at the same time. Sometimes he’ll even pop one of those embarrassing items in the trolley and waits for my reaction at the checkout like a giddy schoolgirl.... he’s 37....
EDIT…. His newest move was adult diapers hidden in the shopping trolley… I died…

The saddest thing I saw as a cashier, was a young man maybe a teen, with a gf holding a newborn each, twins screaming, coming up to the counter with a small bottle of cream, paying by coins. I was nosy and asked if it was for the babies, he nodded. I said, grab a can of baby formula and i will put it on my account. Made his night. I was so glad i had the courage to ask what my gut thought was going on.

The only time I feel like the cashier is judging me is when I walk out of the store without buying anything. At that point in time I am fully convinced that they have decided that I am a no good thief who probably pocketed something.
PS. I've never stolen anything in my life, and if I can't even handle the perceived suspicion while innocent, there's no way I'd be able to build up the courage to actually do it.

    • @Cody-Bear
      @Cody-Bear 4 ปีที่แล้ว +96

I was accused of stealing some manga at a Japanese specialty store at a mall in California and I kept telling the guy, probably the owner or manager, that I didn't steal anything and even emptied my pockets out in front of him and he kept insisting that I stole from the store and told me that I could never come back to the store. Next time I went to that mall, the store was gone. Can't remember if it was empty or if another business took that space in the mall. Felt kinda happy it wasn't around when I went back.
Guy probably hated people just coming in and not buying anything and falsely accused them of stealing and probably lost business because those people told their friends and they told more people. I think the guy was from like India or Pakistan or somewhere else because of his accent and probably wasn't used to American customs that people come in, look around and leave most of the time.

Mexican restaurant down the road ran out of lettuce during lunch rush. Another time, I was on self scans. Younger guy (late teens early 20s) kind of stands off to the side, glancing at me. Eventually he comes up and asks where he would find pads. I point him to where they are on the wall. When he comes up to scan them, he sets them down, stares at the machine, glances back at the pads, and back at the machine. He then walks away, leaving the pads there. I used to manage a video store, there were two types of male customers that gave off bad vibes.
    1) single middle-aged men who bought movies made for little girls for their own enjoyment. (Ex. Winx Club, Barbie, Bratz) they almost always picked out ones that had female characters with little clothing. It was the fact that they were viewing children's movie for sexual pleasure. (Yes I had a guy actually tell me he buys them because the characters are hot)
    2) Men who come up with a stack of rape revenge stories, never just one but like a whole stack. (Ex. I Spit on your Grave series, Last house on the Left) basically any thriller movie with a brutalized woman on the cover.

    • @ronnycollins9125

The first one would disgust me too. Like, if that’s your kink, order that shit online, and KEEP IT TO YOURSELF, so the outside world won’t be seeing your nature, and pointing out what a piece of shit you is.
The second one, not so much. Maybe they admire the stories of people who been wronged, and got their revenge against those who wronged them. Maybe they’re just fans of violence, like everyone else who watches action/martial arts/war flicks. Hell, maybe they got daughters/nieces they care about, and want to train them to be strong survivors… to show them what horrors this world can put them through, and give them ideas and motivation of how to survive, and seek their own justice when the fucking-damn law won’t.
At least that’s what goes through MY mind.

I understand someone could be heavier because of a medical condition/personal preference.. but anytime an obese family (with young children) came in and would leave with processed food and the only vegetables they had (if any) were potato.. it happens more than you think, the children don't know better but the adults do..

Someone could be pressured into starting smoking, or being taught that it is ok, or is having a really stressful time in their like and start smoking to release some of that. The people buying the cigarettes could be going through a really hard time in their life, like going through rehab, and smoking isn’t really that bad compared to being an alcoholic or drug addict. Went to buy a giant teddy bear for my gf with my best friend (also male). We didnt realize at first but the cashier looked like he was holding a laugh. My friend and i look at each other and burst laughing, and so does the cashier. It was pretty obvious that we werent a couple but we were doing a totally couple thing hahahha

As someone who was worked in customer service for 4 years, I will have y'all know we don't judge. We don't care. I once sold a lady 6 cupcakes in the cafe i worked at and my only thought was that I envied her and I too really wanted to eat cupcakes instead of being at that shitty ass, stressfull, sweaty work

A homeless man came into my store, asked if we had mouthwash, so I showed him. Then he bought it and started talking about seeing bug demons, then he drank, yes drank the mouthwash. 😬

I worked at dairy queen and a guy came in and bought an entire sheet cake, sat down, and ate it all. He was a tiny. Like, 5'3, 120 pounds.

I literally sold 2/3's of lean at work. A young couple tried going to the older cashiers, but my line was empty, so I called them over. They were a bit nervous (I wonder why lol) They had sprite, jolly ranchers and a pack of red solos. They asked if we have cough syrup. I said the only ones we have don't have alchohol, so they bought their stuff, and walked across to the pharmacy. I hope they had a great night.

I was buying a Coke and a pack of cigarettes in a very conservative, small Mormon town. The heavy set girl behind the counter started giving me grief about nicotine and caffeine. I told her in my religion nobody cared about those things but gluttony was a mortal sin. I walked out enjoying her stunned silence. Most Mormons are decent people whose main trait is they are quiet around strangers; saying not much more than yes, no, please and thank you. This was in Freedonia, Arizona. Just south of Kanab on the border. I still wonder from time to time what would have happened if I had asked for some Zig Zags.

12:48 my mom when she used to work at Walmart. The one time she got annoyed at someone was when this person who came to the check out line with a full or queen sized air mattress saying it was supposed to be 26 dollars. This is a good quality air mattress as well. My mom rung it up and the prize came out to be over 60 dollars. The person is complaining and yelling. My mom had to call one of the CSMS over to the register for help.
