No offense, but some of you kids are drop-dead naive. This car is way before my time, but even I know how hardcore tough they were. This car is beyond mint, and almost worth it's weight in gold. News flash-NEWER is by FAR not always better. You'd REALLY rather win a Ford Fusion, just because it's new? You really think they'd give away an undriveable car? This is a frickin' rare TREASURE. The world is at your fingertips, and you still have no clue as to what is in this world. Sorry, but true.
Snapepet I worked in the automotive world for 20 years, and I had a boss in a repair shop that told me this one phrase that has stuck with me ever since, and it applies to your comment as well.."new means new, it doesn't mean good!"
Back then, they gave full descriptions of the items needing to be priced. Nowadays, they'd only say something like "Here, we have a bag of croutons...and a 59-ounce carton of orange juice!". I guess it's to save time...
When Ryan got the $1,000 on his first pic, Drew forgot to ask him if wanted to keep it and stop because he could pic a "Loose Everything" which he did. He continued to play and luckily he got the car!
This isn't a restored car but a true Street Rod. Street Rods and Restored Cars are often better than new cars because of their toughness but also have a timeless feel to the show. In an age where Barrett-Jackson is very popular, the show has aimed at the Barrett-Jackson audience with Barrett-Jackson calibre cars for a reason.
You know I just realized that studio is a lot smaller than the one Bob use to present on. That curtain I think use to be further back, and there were at least 50 more seats.
That's the most expensive car offered in Pass the Buck I would think, certainly in daytime. I think they played PtB on a primetime special once or twice.
As sweet as a car like this would be to own, imagine the upkeep and the insurance. He looks like he's in his mid-20s, and insurance rates for guys that age are high enough; try being that age and insuring a classic like that.
ijnfleetadmiral Also these cars will keep their value only if they are maintained and well cared for. They are classics, not every day drivers. They are treasures to be sure. I would love to win one of those. Or a Mustang from the early days when they were first built.🚘
Once you’re 23-24 you can get Hagerty classic insurance and for something like this (with the value stated on the show) it would be maybe $600-800 a year. Doing maintenance and preventative work (Wisconsin, salt on the roads=rust) is what will cost him.
I don't know WayoshiM, personally I love seeing old restored cars on the show and I wish they'd have them on more often. I don't know why you don't like them so much. I mean it's not like they make you play a game where you have to guess the price of cars like Pathfinder or god forbid That's Too Much!
Its kind of hard to judge the condition of the car on TV, without seeing it in person. They could be giving you a rust bucket with a shiny coat of paint, but this being Southern California where its taped, I doubt that is the case. Just looking at the interior, it looks like an older restoration from the 80's/90's. Burgandy velour went out of style about 20 years ago, also the gauges and steering wheel aren't original.
It's not about driving these types though. It's about winning them and knowing how valuable they are. Either from a status stand point if you just like to have it sitting in your garage to have neighbors lust over or if you want to auction it off and make you a bit of money on the side.
They gave away a different Chevy Bel Air in the spring of 2012. I want to say it was blue....? Did anyone see that? The guy who won it was HOT and a had a sub tattoo on his arm (the two black bands that encircle the arm).
Americas love of money in action, the hysterical over the top excitement shows the shallowness of American people, their idealistic joy of material things shows their true colors
It's not a 210. If it was, they would have said "classic Chevrolet 210" not "classic Chevrolet Bel Air", they wouldn't announce the wrong vehicle model. Also, you can tell by the rear quarter panel that it's not a 210, because they didn't have the wedge design, they were plain. Also, it's a coupe, not a sedan.
I'd take this car in a heartbeat. Cheap to maintain and there's tons of new reproduction parts still being made for these,
One of the rare times you don't hear, "It's a new car!"
A 1957 bel-air is MY DREAM CLASSIC CAR WHEN I TURN LIKE 25 !!, ITS BEEN MY DREAM CLASSIC CAR FOR YEARS
Give me a a 1958 Impala convertible.
I’d Take this classic Chevy any day. Beautiful Family Car
This car has what all the new ones lack and that is class. Only way you could not drive it is if you were a wuss. REAL MANS CARS HELL YEAH
they need a classic car week
Chuck Whitehead I agree, they do a dream car week every season, so it would be nice of them to do a classic car week
@@MyGuyJustinH Thats a really good idea they should have a 1957 Chevy Bel Air And some other old cars
I love Those old Chevy's
Drew seemed to really want that car for himself, haha.
He probably has 2 already. Lol

And it gets a whopping 8 miles to the gallon! Yay! Get ready to be broke filling up that tank!🤣🤣🤣
"Are these truly exciting to win?" In answer to your question WayoshiM, yes they are :)
Back then, they gave full descriptions of the items needing to be priced. Nowadays, they'd only say something like "Here, we have a bag of croutons...and a 59-ounce carton of orange juice!". I guess it's to save time...
Sorry to see him win it cuz he will not take care of it like it should be it takes a special person to really appreciate cars like that
Who invented fuzzy dice?
You can win an old used car!
Dude, seriously though.
That's a nice looking car right there.
I owned a yellow 57 210 2 door with cragar s/s wheels like in hollywood nights
@khidak1 Thanks this car made me the most famous person in my town. by the way its Monticello, WI not monroeville.
Do you still have the car? Was it fun to drive?
When Ryan got the $1,000 on his first pic, Drew forgot to ask him if wanted to keep it and stop because he could pic a "Loose Everything" which he did. He continued to play and luckily he got the car!
Wow Drew has lost alot of weight!

Love those old cars of course they are vintage 😁🏎
There is nothing more american (and 50s) as a Chevy Bel Air, and i know that as a ford guy. Glad he got the car
It would have been funny if he did say "a NEW car!"
You know I just realized that studio is a lot smaller than the one Bob use to present on. That curtain I think use to be further back, and there were at least 50 more seats.
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME VIDEO
Very nice job. I was thinking#2 for some reason
oh hell yea id love that car
That's the most expensive car offered in Pass the Buck I would think, certainly in daytime. I think they played PtB on a primetime special once or twice.
Looks like Christine. Does the radio only play doo-wop?

@646guy For $28 thou, it BETTER be drivable!
We had a 58 and 59 both were awesome
@khidak1 Exactly! Subjective opinions be damned!
Lucky bum! We had a blue green 4 door.

I love the price is right
Wow, did Drew Carey ever lose weight! Congrats to him.
They gave away an old Bentley on Hole in One. That car was bitchin.
1957 Chevy Bel Air
I would be in Heaven if I won this.
Holy hell, Drews lost alot of wait since Whose Line Is It Anyway.

Even if you don't want the car, you can always take the cash equivalent!
no you can't
Michael Enfield 9..
What a sexy car. I'd drive it everyday, even though it should be treated better, lol. :)
Hell yes. That car is sexy.
Nice car
@WayoshiM Do you really think the Price is Right would give away a car that could not be driven and used on a regular basis?
They gave away a different Chevy Bel Air in the spring of 2012. I want to say it was blue....? Did anyone see that? The guy who won it was HOT and a had a sub tattoo on his arm (the two black bands that encircle the arm).
.......those pants.
Who announced this episode?
How many classic cars have they had/given away on The Price is Right?
Does the model come with it?
I don't know if the 57 Chevrolet has have updated smog crap , to make it legal in California.
@eepruls Yeah about 90 lbs. His fiance Nicole is a chef.
My brother has☝️ of those 🚘 !!
Who's that announcer? It obviously isn't Rich Fields, who was the main announcer at the time.
@BroadwayFuture46
I would die of a heart attack.
The original retail price of that '57 Chevy Bel-Air had to be around $2,500.
Yes and they put in twenty-six thousand extra dollars in parts and labor
If you win, you have to pay tax on the prizes, and sometimes the winners can't afford to pay the tax and have to sell the prize just to pay it.
I take 57 Chevy over any new car ppl
McDonough would be the xo it kdv I would love mom
You'd think they could have at least sprung for a hardtop rather than a sedan. B-pillars suck.
wow thats a nice fckn car
Heyyyyyyy
did drew lose some weight?
Mos exciting cars are old ones or new ones.
If I won this I would sell it and use the money for a modern car.
Christine
He still had one more pick left.
NucIearChrist there was also another “lose everything” so he didn’t risk it.
No you get 1 pick but can win 2 more . drew even said you can pick up to 3 of 6
not exciting???? I've seen close to mints sell for 60k+
Americas love of money in action, the hysterical over the top excitement shows the shallowness of American people, their idealistic joy of material things shows their true colors
Robert Stewart lol don't be jealous.
You all do know it's just the plain Jane 210 sedan...don't you?
Yamaha SR650 i

Worst color I ever saw on this model car.
