    Nice vid Dev.. only thing missing is a few general principle details people may not know. Such as, how where you place overflow cutouts is based on where you want the water height in the display and flow rate, and in general why certain baffles are certain heights. Or just the measurements you did and why.
    It's a great vid, I was just thinking of some things to keep in mind that may be cause for pause in the process as others try this themselves.

    I did exactly this on my 120g 2 months ago and it works like a charm! I run a small refugium compartment and a full sized skimmer compartment behind there.

    Another nice video..just one little point..you may regret taking the back wall flush with the top edge of the tank walls! I would left it short a half inch at the top just in case the drain cutouts get clogged…

    Would be nice addition to add thin acrylic strips with an L shape to them, around the back of the overflow opening, in a squared U shape so you could slide in various height acrylic panel/pieces to adjust the height or flowrate of the overflow opening.

    old video but can you make a wet dry filter fully submerged? Like drill a home lower like some aio units do so if the water level runs low the pump wont run dry? Have a sea clear acrylic with wet dry built in back is why is im asking. thanks

      All depends on water heights, just keep all the drops an inch or less and it should be fine

    very helpful video, currently running a 90 gallon freshwater and I have an extra empty 60 gallon cube that I want to do this to and try saltwater. the cube is a black rimmed tank if I want the water line to be hidden just above the rim where would you start the slots or holes cut for the overflow part? or for a rimless tank how do you know where the waterline will be? does your it depend on what speed of pump you use hope that makes sense

      Can I ask how did you decide how much depth the back panel should occupy, so you knew how wide the 2 separators should be?
      Were you going for a cubic aquarium? I like the concept! I don't think I have space for a huge rectangle!

      Nope. On a smaller tank regular water changes is more than enough :)

    Silicone doesn't bond acrylic and glass. It will just temporarily hold acrylic plate in place, over time acrylic will deform. You should use black glass panel with acrylic overflow comb.

      If there is water in the backside then there is no pressure to deform it over time. Atleast that’s my theory. So far so good :)

    Did you cut the main aio false wall the exact same size as the internal diameter of the tank or make it smaller to allow for silicone?

      Mode or less the same width. The silicone more acts as a wall to hold it in place as it sticks to glass much better than acrylic

    aye. i noticed that light. ive been doing some research on them and can appreciate more information on them. How have the noopsyches been? Are they good at acro growth? They remind of ai hydras, is the controlabilty similar or can a sunrise/sunset cycle be programed? Any response appreciated.

      Can automate dosing and water changes. But have to top off your tanks once in a while

      Any glass shop will cut glass for you. its fairly inexpensive for small pieces. Acylic shops also custom cut.. lots of options! i got everything pre cut and just siliconed it in.
