Love low tech tanks - mine is an AIO and I try to keep things really simple. So far it is working! I agree with your comment on live rock. I picked up a nano box from Tampa Bay Saltwater and really noticed a difference once I added it to my system.
Low-tech is good. Hey, we all experience at least occasional burnout. Sometimes you just got to push yourself! I'm 68 now, and mornings can be the toughest part of the day!
Not sure what you mean. Sorry. Are you talking about what type of light can you use on a nano? And what do you mean by stick to critters only? You mean with no light?
I just bought a hygger 500w heater that comes with a probe which seems to work well. It’s a few months old. This other brand called INK BIRD itc-306a is very good also. 👍🏻
T i have a falco hawkfish,a month ago i got my biota y tang eversince then my falco has not eating good at all he was very healthy and thick he has slimmed down but still looks good. I am concerned he eats frozen and flakes and some pellets .what can i do to get him to go back to attacking food??
Hi Johnny, sounds like the new yellow tang is effecting this behavior. Seems like the hawk fish is afraid of the tang. Only thing you can do is wait it out until he gets use to the tang being in there. You might try a different food.
Hey Tom - oh those anemones! I just fought mine off rock and brought them all back to my LFS. They kept splitting and I caught on trying to attach to one of my acro frags. That was the last straw. Your systems look great! You didn’t mention the increased risk of Dinos when you start with dead rock! That’s what I blame my dreaded battle over.
Hi Mets, so far I’ve been lucky with my anemones. They haven’t moved much at all. But if I find one on a coral, back to Fish Guy Mike 😃. I would include Dino’s in the ugly phase. I should have mentioned that! Dinos are notorious when using dry rock. 😕
Tom, i also am no into disturbed, but true the killed it with that song . I listen to it everynight with my lights going down at 730. Luv the mean green today. Smash the likes guys ! Best of you tube rite here!!!!!!!!
Hi Scott, my nitrates are actually not up at all, my phosphate is😃 I’ve always had trace nitrates and higher phosphate. Do your corals look pale? If not, then don’t sweat low nitrates. I’m old school. If everything looks good then just keep doing what you’re doing. But if you can’t resist, there are products that increase nitrate(liquid). I can’t recommend any, because I’ve never used them. 😉👍🏻
Toooommmm...How's your ph doing since the move? any windows in the new place you can leave open like last time? If you need a laugh, think about the video intro you did where the viewers flew in through the video lol
Hey Brandon! 😃yea, every once and a while I watch part of an old vid. And realize the good times I had making them. You go way back! 😃 I still enjoy, I have to say what put me in a bad mood were a few negitive comments. You should have seen my first edit of this vid. I went off. I realized after that it was stupid to let 2 comments upset me😂 so I cut all my ranting out 😊 ph is great! I have a nice double window in the new studio 😃
@@TOMReefer fuck those people. negative comments are like assholes. Everyones got one, just some work better than others at keeping shit to themselves. You're sharing your experiences with us and the joy you show about your work. Stay positive my friend!
Hey Guys, I thought today would be a better day for the vid. At least here in USA. Super Bowl tomorrow 🤪low tech tanks can be successful 👍🏻
Hey Tom I have a 30 gallon AIO innovated marine I’m having trouble with my tank it’s seems it doesn’t have nutrients any recommendations
How do the inhabitants look? Corals?
I love your simplistic approach to reefing. Tanks look great by the way.
@@ravs4200 thanks Ray!
A video about lighting will come very handy. That lights you have pop the colors, love it. Great video
Thanks Bruno! Not a bad idea? 👍🏻😊

Hi B, great to hear that! Agreed, I won’t ever start a tank with white calcium carbonate rocks, unless I have too.👍🏻
Love all your videos brother. You are a unique and helpful voice on TH-cam!
Hey James! Happy you enjoy the videos! I enjoy making them 😊👍🏻thanks

Haha, especially when you sit in front of a camera and have to talk to it 😁🙏🏻
I always look forward to your videos
Thanks Mac! Nice of you to say! 😊
I am about to reseal a tank, and I'm going to watch your 75 gal build again. Your videos have a lot of good information for us noobies.
Hi Brett, glad to hear that! Just make sure, if it’s a reseal you remove all old silicone. Really well. You can use paint thinner to get it all off 👍🏻
Tank looks amazing! hopefully whatever it maybe that's bugging you would be okay, we got your back tomm!
Thanks Bogart! We all get in moods from time to time. I got over it😃👍🏻thanks again for following me.
Tanks look 👀 great! Great video, thanks for the inspiration as always 👍
Thanks Corey! Lots of new viewers that might take away from it👍🏻
Nice accent Tom ! Great one. Simple with success
Hi Jean! Thanks! Did you notice my wife? Sylvia was in Paris? 😃 her daughter and her were there Friday and Saturday 👍🏻😊
@@TOMReefer I gess this is in Paris. Champs Élysées. Great place for lunch or diner. I hope that they enjoyed their journey
They has a great time, however, it rained. But they enjoyed it anyway😃👍🏻
@@TOMReefer ah yes. No good weather actually. Only Côte d’Azur for sun during winter there
How about with the coralife marine clip on light for nano tanks? And I do mean nano. How well would that do? Or should I stick to critters only?
Not sure what you mean. Sorry. Are you talking about what type of light can you use on a nano? And what do you mean by stick to critters only? You mean with no light?
Can i ask you a question please, what temperature probe do you use on your tanks? All the temp probes i use are not accurate.
Thanks for your help.

Lovely setups...sometimes its good to have short breaks by the way :) Would you recommend white or gray background over black? Care....
Thanks M, 😊 I assuming you mean the back of the tank? I prefer clear glass. It creates a depth that backgrounds take away. In my opinion 😊👍🏻

I'm late but real live rock is pretty easy to come by these days. Tbs alone can start you off rather easily
I would love to come see your set ups I'm in Beaumont CA not far from you
😁I’m in Rockaway New Jersey. Not worth the travel 😊 but thank you for being so interested👍🏻
Hello 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hello Babak! 😃
Yeah I returned my 75 dollar light for a near 200$ one huge difference so far
Hi Brent, it’s well worth it, if you’re a serious reef keeper. 👍🏻
👍
Thanks Aussie😊
Bit of cyno in the 12 gallon Tom

@brandonmms thanks Brandon, I know exactly what you’re saying. I know that in my head, but ego gets in the way. But I get over it 😃
His wife pissed him off right before filming
Probably 😊
What is the fish in the tall tank? Orangeish guy.
Hi Casima, it’s called a Smiths Damsel 😊
