@@BenGKaiser Ben, thank you for the video. When using for example a 10900K with a GTX 1660, is the IGPU used? I mean, do both GPU work together? If that is not the case, isn’t more convenient to buy the F version, without IGPU, which is cheaper? And what about the unlocking quality of the K version? Are your tests based on the minimum or maximum clock frequency?
Many thanks. The best explanation I have come across on this topic. I have gone through a couple of videos by the way. Now to understand the generations of GPUs and specifications.
Thanks for the video comparison, I am using Adobe Premier Elements for editing small videos on an integrated system and it seems to work fine, I was contemplated a laptop with dedicated GPU but it is really not necessary now, this will save me some money when buying my next laptop. thank you.

@@madmakes7993 Just arrived today. Already in love with it. I'm glad MSI went with upward facing speakers on this. They sound better than any MSI I've owned before. 4k screen is magnificent, and everything runs buttery smooth. I put in 32GB RAM and a secondary 2TB HD, though...So that's fun. Voided the warranty right out of the box. Haha. Right now I'm getting rid of all the bloatware that came installed. Norton...in 2021?
Hey @BenGKaiser so there’s one thing I’ve been wondering about on this topic and cannot find a clear answer at least here on TH-cam. For integrated graphics, what if you upgraded your system ram to say 32gb or even more. Wouldn’t that allow the integrated card to use that extra RAM, effectively giving it more RAM to work with, than a dedicated say 6gb of video ram? In other words, the 6gb dedicated card is limited at 6gb, but if you put more RAM in your system, the integrated card can have more than 6gb of Ram available to use. Not sure how you could verify or test this but in theory what do you think?
Want to buy a mini-pc with Iris graphics but I must do simple video editing (trimming videos and inserting clips) with cyberlink Power Director. Can this be done with an integrated video?
In the future can you run tests on Topaz Labs software? As someone with photography as a hobby, LR/photoshop is not the limiting factor on my choice of laptops and gpus. Denoise AI, Sharpen AI, and Gigapixel AI are what is forcing me to upgrade my laptop... Though I would love to buy HP Spectre I may need to buy a full fledged gaming laptop with RTX 3070 and I don’t even play games...

If that playback is without any proxies I'm not suprised at that high amount of dropped frames. I get dropped frames on my 5700XT with both 2-4k playback in premiere pro without proxies. Its so bad i'd say its actually unusable.

Ben G K can u make a video on Dedicated vs Externally connected GPU. That'd be awesome. I think because whenever we decide to buy a laptop we only think of portable ones and are not usually attracted with heavy machines. Buying a laptop with better external gpu connections we can harness processing power when we need it on desk(can also connect external monitor). While we can take just the portable laptop on the go. The portable laptop should also have some useful gpu that can give a lil juice. While only on desk to desk travel can carry an external gpu, which will separate the bulk and heat away from the laptop. Can anyone humor me on this?
The specs for the RTX 3060 you shown are those of the desktop version. The laptop version has a bit more cores (3840) but only half the VRAM (6 GB).
Ah, you're correct, that is the desktop. Thanks for catching this. I will pin your comment for clarity.

If it's not performing any tasks, it's probably not drawing much power at all.
