Nurse Casey is the greatest pediatric nurse I’ve seen. She held that little Riley’s attention whereas she was able to perform what was necessary and Riley didn’t know what hit her. I just knew Riley would cry after nurse Casey drew her blood, however, Riley didn’t. Nurse Casey held Riley’s attention making Riley’s baby checkup a breeze. Her employer should leave a little extra in her Christmas bonus. No one knew Riley was in the building except for her parents and nurse Casey, because nurse Casey handled that exam like a boss and Riley passed with flying colors.

I am a retired nurse…it takes a special person to nurse children. Unlike adults, you must earn the trust of a child…they don’t care about your uniform or credentials. This nurse is precious! The toddler doubly so!
Sweet little thing talked all through her checkup. She shows all levels of being a genius, even down to having a high level of emotional intelligence. The nurse did an absolutely great job supporting her too .
This s little girl is going to love going to the dr. so she can talk to the nurse, then she might grow up to be one herself! Highest praise for the nurse! She’s building relationships which instills a sense of community.

By the way, my daughter is almost 30 and I didn’t know they could get blood from your toe instead of your arm. Would have saved both of us some tears. Baby girl did really well in her appointment, so smart.

They are so smart. They don't get the credit they deserve. My son(He's 7. His friends range in age from 10 to 4) and 2 of his friends started sitting with us at our church's First Sunday lunch. On the first Sundays of every month we have lunch. I loved sitting with them. The next time more of his friends sat with us. Now the whole table is filled with smelly boys. My husband and I are the only adults. We love it. They are so smart and funny. Their parents think it bothers us but it doesn't .

I wish I could convince more pediatricians and pediatric nurses that 1) our patients deserve this level of respect, 2) putting in the very small amount of extra time up front is worth it 3) this is how we grow healthy adults.
I live in Houston, right around the corner from the world's best medical center. Having said that, I rarely see this kind of compassion and patience, in my own opinion, there's always a rush. Trust me, I've been to so many doctor appointments for my elderly mom. I hope that you get recognized for your compassion and are given a raise or promotion.
The toddler ensure that doctor get it right and get it right, even asked the doctor her name. She keeping an eye on any equipment used in her and question everythin. This toddler ask more questions than most patients.
This reminds me of the video with the dad having a conversation with his baby. He was a bit younger than her. But, the baby would already respond at the right time and listen at the right time. Talking to children like they're human beings helps them learn so many valuable skills
