- It's the Bayou City, Space City, Clutch City, and its first nickname, the Magnolia city. But it's also H Town, Hustle Town, and its official title: The Energy Capital of the World. They're all different and technically all correct because there is no place on earth quite like Houston baby!

A Pakistani-American showing you all of the best Mexican places to eat is a very Houston thing to have happen to you.
Boo hoo
With Houston being so big and so spread out you have to know what parts of town to go to. It's not a city you can just show up to, head into town, and stumble upon a bunch of bars and restaurants. That being said, once you do know the right neighborhoods and areas to go to, Houston has some of the best restaurants in the country and a great bar scene!
Agree 100%
100 percent accurate. Born and raised here.
You are right. Be careful where you go here people, especially inside the loop.
Hit it on the head. It's why some people love it and some people think it's boring..they just don't know where to go in a city that size
Yes, you can. That's literally what downtown is just bars restaurants and junkies 😂
Lived my whole 29 years all over the houston area. Love seeing Houston get some love
We just call it H-Town❤
As a Native Houstonian, thank you for continuing to highlight the fantastic things my beloved City has to offer.
Salute To Houston From Cincinnati. 💪🏽😎💯
My mom grew up in the Heights district, and I spent many summers living with my grandma in the very same house my mother grew up in. The market and bakery were a weekly tradition. Present day, every time I visit Houston, it's a must to stop and fill up on produce and bakery goodies . ..I can literally taste the warm tortilla and sweet, cinnamon churro. 😋😍
It still smells amazing when you walk in I love it
Definitely something u have to go when visiting north Houston el bollio on airline is currently the best.
You have to think of visiting Houston like visiting a small continent with dozens of countries. Many, many countries of the world are well represented in H-Town. It is impossible to experience enough of it in only a weekend trip. Like going anywhere international, you need to plan on a few weeks, at least, to get any real sense of this city.
It's amazing.
Agree on that for sure.
There is so much of everything in Houston, I love my city.
Having traveled a bit, I'm still convinced Houston has some of the prettiest gals around!
ZZ TOP from Houston too😊
We think of them as a Houston band, but only Billy Gibbons is from there. Dusty was from Dallas and Frank is from somewhere in East Texas.
@@scottmccollumDusty-Dallas & Frank-Irving.
I moved to Houston in the mid-1970s after graduating from college. I lived in The Montrose which felt like a small town in the middle of a massive city. It seemed like every week a new skyscraper was breaking ground. Loved my time there but the heat and humidity was too much for me.
Chet, I think Houston has great art, music, history, food and people!
Oh yeah. One of the best cities in America.
A tex-mex trip you could hit Molina’s, Ninfa’s, and Lupe Tortilla. All Houston originals and long time survivors of the restaurant business. All three have great stories. There’s also another greek family that started the Phoenicia.
Arandas donerakis 7 mares Meridas all could easily make that list don’t get me started on the many tacos houses of north and east Houston. Lots of good food in the city
Hi chet! Thank you for putting this episode on TH-cam!! My husband and I have been fans for years and have been waiting for new episodes! Can't wait for the rest of season 14 🎉🎉 love, from Laredo,TX. Ps. Come back 😅
I love seeing the phone jacks at the tables where they used to have their own telephones. ☎️
He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.
I have going to this market since 1989 and Connie’s seafood across the street is top notch seafood, fresh oysters all day
There's actually several professional ice skating rinks in Houston now. I live a mile from the Galleria and skate there a couple times a week. Unfortunately crime has been horrific since the pandemic. Tons of stolen catalytic converters, stolen cars, break ins, shootings even in the fancy neighborhoods.
Dang. No bueno.
I haven’t finished this episode yet, but I’m surprised you haven’t hit Uptown, Med Center, The Heights, River Oaks and it’s rich history (especially on the bayou), etc! Maybe these things will come and we’d be so grateful! Thank you for your work!
He did mention Uptown. He mentioned the Galleria (area). No Houstonian calls it Uptown. (at least not the older ones)
Check out our other Houston episodes too.
@@kevingray8616 Lol, you aren’t lying there. I’ve caved to the renaming 😅😂
@@TheDaytripper On. It. I must have missed it. Thank you!
Chinatown in Houston is ever changing with many franchise from around the country.
Very tactful not to mention the SMELL under the Waugh Street bridge....lol! I didn't know that Circus was a Pappas Restaurant. I LOVED Circus... hated when it closed. It was fun and the food was great...at least in my memory. Was a place my friends and I loved going at the start of the weekend. My husband has long wanted to take me to Pappas Bro. Steakhouse... but, here we are 21 years now... and just haven't done it.
Loved Strawberry Patch as well.
Bayou smells funky right along the bike path near the aquarium too
Amazing video of iconic Houston Texas and places to go, from the farmers market, to the brewery the and the steakhouse thx for sharing,
Most folks cant fathom how big Harris County is! It is 1,777 sq miles. Truly a huge city footprint.
Houston is an hour away from Houston.
Saint Arnold's Endeavor. Been in the art car parade several times, one ended up in the Astrodome on the field. THAnks again my friend
My mom bought peanuts and pecans at the farmers market. I loved going there as a kid. They had a shelling machine for shelling pecans. That amazed me. The simple things.
You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.
Circus Restaurant was awesome and always crowded.
Chet you bring a smile to me every video😊
I can't imagine a person becoming a success who doesn't give this game of life everything hes got.
Do Vietnamese-American next!
The best art car I saw was the "Chewburu"... a Suburu covered in dentures and tooth brushes
🤣🤣🤣
I love my hometown
This was a great episode!!!
I recently found you. Love your videos. Keep up the good work. ❤ from Lewisville, TX 🇨🇱
As someone who grew up in houston
U did a great job
Bro reminds me of Sean Evans from Hot ones. Thank you for shining such a positive light on the city. Much love 🤘🏾
I just hit subscribe to this channel after 6 mins into it. As a fellow Texan in a diff part of the state, this is great stuff
You got me subscribed at “better-er” when expected etiquette paired with fine dining went out the window; I see myself in your shoes, enjoying the wonders of H-Town with a hint of relaxed humor.
When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everybody will respect you.
Awesome Chet didn't know you were gonna drop the new episodes on TH-cam so soon! Looking forward to more and completing the entire series going back.
Every Monday.

H-TOWN 🤘 baby
Thank you for this one! Thinking actually about visiting Houston for Lakewood Church...So nice that you mentionened it@!
Get ER Done. Houston has everything.
Pappa's! I dearly miss Yia Yia Mary's. No one does hummus the way they did it.
Thanks. A good sample of a city that has a lot to offer
Hint: Avoid the summer. Just beginning to recover from this year's record breaking heat
Stunner? Summer? I think autocorrect got you…😂

Only a typo!
The first capital was located by Broadway and Lawndale. It was on Manchester & San Saba.
There's a 2-story wooden mansion, on a street call Pasadena. That is between 75th. and Navigation.
Plus, the old Dr. Pepper company. At the light at 81st. and Harrisburg. Market St. is one oldest road in Houston. You can go back a thousand years; people travel close to the water as a guide not to get lost.
Look at Old Hwy-90 it travels from Louisiana to Houston and "KEEPS" going. Plus, it follows the RR-tracks.
I remember a coffee warehouse on Navigation in the 70s… smelled of heaven.
Hi Chet.
Northcross mall in Austin also has an ice rink.
Love it!!! 😍
You helped make it happen brother.
The art car museum is closed, the last I heard. You need a key to the Astrodome...that's an icon.
Pappa’s Steakhouse is delicious!
All of them are usually good 😅
I loved Pappa Brothers steak house but they went to expensive for me and haven't eaten there in a few years. But they do have the best steak. We still enjoy the fajitas at Pappasitoes.
I grew up in both Houston and Richmond and if you know about AstroWorld and ice-skating at the Galleria, then you are definitely from Houston😊.
I also grew up in Htown and know about these places. I live in Germany now and a colleague of mine is traveling to Houston in March. She asked me for a few recommendations.
The first thing that came to mind was the food. 🙂She and her husband plan to visit NASA, of course. I told her that the weather should be good and I suggested a few museums and Galveston, too. She has never been there,so I do hope that they have a great time.
There's an ice rink at memorial mall too lol
Great video Chet. Except now I'm starving for some 60 dollar steak.😭
The best Indian restaurants in Houston are:
Musaafer, Narin’s Bombay Brasserie, Kirans, Amrina’s and Mahesh’s Kitchen.
The best Pakistani restaurants in Houston are:
Mai Colachi, Lasbela, Karhayi Boys, Aga’s Restaurant, Bismillah Restaurant, DDK BBQ, and Bundu Khan.

Hey y’all need go eat at this places called panchos Mexican buffet been around from the 50/60s only one place left is in humble tx 15min from downtown
yeah
Pearland also has a rich culture you should go there!
The Houston farmers market has tea for cancer, diabetes, HBP and much more. They really do work.
Down voting fake science
Thats cap on the ice skating. You could ice skate on the northside where the Houston Aeros played. Fun fact.
When you come back, check out the vintage scene! I made a documentary about how we’re one of the best scenes in the world!
Before the Galleria... we'd ice skate at a little place not far from it. Just north of 59 ... I think it was near Weslayan? Fell hard on my butt lol. I worked at Astroworld in '72. The year I grad. Love the Mexican food....not fast food. I just don't miss the traffic. Still know how to get anywhere tho. 😎
WAS! WAS! WAS! the energy capital, first cold freeze, and KATY BAR THE DOOR!
I mean that little hiccup had no relation or impact to Houston’s oil production lol
Best ever out of Houston is Robert Earl Keen Jr & Lyle Lovett.
I love your videos! Have you been to Livingston Texas?
Man there is so much he did not get to cover here. So many places. But heck this wouldn't be a "Day Trip" if he did try to do everything. XD
Weve got to have a dream if we are going to make a dream come true.
You forgot Screwston.
I have such a love/hate relationship with Houston. Having lived there for 10 years, I have many good memories of places, but after leaving, I don’t want to move back 😂.
These are some pretty iconic spots in Houston. Wish you could have gone to Memorial Park and the new land bridge there. It is bigger than Central Park in NYC and just turned 100 years old. Maybe next time…
Memorial Park is great. But not a lot to see/do other than typical trail stuff.
Spent my first 25 years there. The gawd-awful traffic & toll roads keep me away.
Everyone was curious about the large white blimp that appeared overnight.
In the end, he realized he could see sound and hear words.
Limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless.
Make the best use of what is in your power, and take the rest as it happens.
The fish dreamed of escaping the fishbowl and into the toilet where he saw his friend go.
The Art Car Museum will be closing on April 28th :(
I heard. So sad.
He shoukd go to southeast houston the hispanic side
Where to eat?
@@TheDaytripper Taqueria Del Sol
Lyle Lovett too.
Well Chet---straight up---you sit there and partake of that rare side of medium rare New York strip and I don't have tasteavision of smell a vision...Just plumb EVIL Chet--makes me hurt!!!
🤠
Raheezyyyyyy
I live in Houston…. Born and raised…. I am ready to move North! Way too many people and way too hot here.
I hear you. I was born and raised there, as well. I left 7 years ago, to a "less boiling hot" part of Texas. It's a relief getting away from the swampish coastal humidity.
Born and raised here and ima stay here, I ain’t no quitter
Take it from someone who was born in Houston, has now lived here again for more than 20 years, and lived in the CT/NY area for nearly 10 years... Houston is so much better than the north. People are so much more friendly in Houston, the cost of living is way lower, the food is top tier and at great prices, and the weather is much better. It may get hot in Houston but up North it gets bitter cold and you have to deal with snow and ice for months at a time and I will still take the heat over the cold any day. Every place has its ups and downs, but moving up north will be a complete culture shock.
🤘
Experience is not what happens to a man. It is what a man does with what happens to him.
Why can I watch this on my phone now but it vanished from my iPad and Apple TV devices??
I don't know. Still looks like it's on TH-cam.
@@TheDaytripper Oops. I figured it yesterday.. 😆😆😆
Solution. Dump Apple. 😅
Did you really skipped the iconic "BE SOMEONE" graffiti?
Can tell he never skates at the Aerodome🎉
I guess if you’re impressed by the ice skating rink in the Galleria, the bar is not very high😢
best restaurant in houston: Sasaki on fondren and westheimer
Did he say beer off instead of beer off
El Bolillo...aka "the white boy"
As a Mexican American who has lived in Houston my whole life, there’s better flea markets, this is a gentrified version
Good video though
Dr Phil is from Elgin sorry
Simone Biles! ❤❤❤
What you want me to do with your hat?
You have no right to call yourself creative until you look at a trowel and think that it would make a great lockpick.
This episode brought to you by St. Arnold’s brewery……
Chamillionaire and Dr Phil are not from Houston lol
