- I feel like you're going to watch a lot of metal "chug" guys demo this amp, but this thing does shred, growly blues, clean jazz and country and with the right feel and versatility. Don't write this off as a just a metal amp, it does everything. I am really impressed with this amp and it will become an important part of my arsenal in the studio and live. Blackstar has been killing it lately. You'll want to check this one out.

Sounds killer Rich. I wish more TH-camrs did this with gear. Go use it in a gig! Most times it’s just someone playing in their room which is fine and good. But hearing in a band context is super great for us gigging musicians.
Awesome playing and fantastic to hear a review that’s not just the generic Metal sounds.such a rounded versatile amp 🤘
My main stage amp is a Blackstar HT 20 Studio with a Tone Tubby 12 and I love it
I watch this video over and over again. I think it will be decisive for ordering this amplifier
He had the black strat smokin' in the studio! Good job.
Wow thought the St James was good but this sounds glorious! Love the cab sims just got to try one… great playing Rich!👍🙂🎸
Now THIS is how you demo an amp. I have the HT Club 50 MKIII arriving tomorrow. Can’t wait to rip it up!
Sounds great live and the studio. 👌🏾
Great playing and review Rich! Thanks for sharing 🤘
Great Review Rich. Getting better all the time.
wow thanks so much man!
and the in depth clean demos.
no guesswork left here. im gonna get one real soon!
great video Rich! I loved the tones you got with the Te;le in the live gig
Killer amp, Rich! Man that thing is smokin!! I'd love to have one of these. Enjoyed the vid, and the gig clips. Fun stuff all the way around. Hope all is well out West!
Great video on the Venue Blackstar amp. It's nice to see a valve amp with modern touches for the digital age. Amazing playing once again, thank you.
New to your channel, instant sub! This exactly how an amp should be reviewed. Great insights, tones, and playing! Keep it up!
Great playing Rich ~ amps will only produce what's put in ~
My ht mkiii stage head arrived today omfg it is Absolutely incredible and sounds even better love love love it, Excellent work blackstar❤❤❤❤
Wow that amp has a wide array of great sounds and your playing only adds to it . I use a blackstar 20w combo & iam satisfied with it . Blackstar is on point . Great demo , tks Rich !
Wow! Sounds awesome Rich! Love the tones! A lot of versatility! Really like the fact that you used it at a gig, then did a demo at your studio. Wish more people did this on TH-cam!
Thanks!
Rich- super great review man,- I just got my ht mkiii 100 today- you are exactly right- it is super versatile and it is easy to dial in some great tones!!
Killer amp for the money!
I have a HT Stage 60 212 mkI and sounds very good.
I´m very happy with that amp
Great bass tone and player you got there as well
Just amazing tone ! You f#*king rock !
Good stuff ! Thanks!
I left Marshall and Fender tube amps for Blackstar (HT venue series) 10 years ago Ain't looking back!
Very cool!
Just ordered mine ❤😊
Amazing 👏
rock on my Brother.
Thank you for this review. Almost every other YT video out there makes these amps sound thin and harsh. And they're ALL chugging extreme metal. I currently a mkii50 watt head I know these are capable of way more diversity. FYI I'm selling that head to get the mkiii 100 watter, partially because of your and Pete Thorn's demos of the mkiii series.
nic e- I have a 97 Lonestar - black one exactly the same. but my HB bridge pup is white and its a Pearly Gates. top guitar
Mk3??? Wow! I didnt expect a new HT to come out
Great video and playing sir!
Thank you kindly!
You're welcome!
Great vid..especially the live band situation. And your description of how a player may send a front of house signal and mic the cab. I’m on the fence between this model or the St.James model behind you. It seems like the MKiii is a more versatile? Help a brother out. Which do you prefer for live between the two?
Great video, really a lot of detail and great playing. How would you say the St. James and the HT compare to each other. I heard the St. James EL34 version and was blown away.
I don’t understand why people crap on Blackstar, I had the mk 1 ht 50 the only reason I sold it cause it was too loud at home , the cleans were great the first overdrive was a bit muddy, but I think they fixed it in the mk 2 your friend has a Marshall there and you have him covered 👍
I have the HT40 Club. Once you open it to try to put better tubes in it, you find out how cheap and awful the guts are, total cheap junk. It sounds solid state with clanky harsh high end like SS amps are. Changing tubes makes no difference in sound because the tone comes from chips, not tubes. I've tried to sell mine for several years, nobody wants it at any price. If it has a problem nobody will work on them and Blackstar has no service centers in the USA. You may as well buy a Line 6 amp.
@@davestephens8033 I had repair issue with line 6 they refused to fix I won’t go near them again, I’m using Boss stuff at the moment

I'll be returning the Marshall Origin 20 watt head... I'm definitely interested in test playing this Blackstar Stage HT MKIII Head... I'm trying to decide between the MKIII 50 or 100...
Seems Blackstar nailed it with these new Mk3 Venue amps. On my before the year is up list.
RICH, Does this HT Stage 100 MK III use a switching power supply?
These amps sound very good, but Blackstar really, really need to put way more effort into their cabs. The new 2x12s and 4x12s look great but they're just made from MDF and have Seventy 80 speakers installed. Just go with birch ply and install V30s, I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't mind paying a little extra for that even if they're made in China.
V30s are not always a “step up” they get viewed as. They work with certain amps and others, not so much. Blackstars are very Marshally by nature, and as such, V30s get pretty dodgy with them. You need some low end. There’s a reason why Marshall type amps tend to be mostly used with Greenbacks or T75s (which Seventy 80s belong to the family of).
Have you had any issues with the wattage switch? I had to order a new one due to not working and the one I just received isn’t working.
No issues.
Who makes the best amps? Britain or America.
3 guitar players??? Making your life a lot easier! I wonder what their neighbors think of you amp :)
All neighbors were invited. Block party. 🤣🤘🏻
Hello Afu 😃👋
Hey bro your way ahead of these guys u should playing with a top notch thats eqaul to your playing and is outstanding killer axe slinger
Thanks!
You guys sound great but those songs are worn the hell out especially where I live to the point I don't listen to the radio anymore. I had a band that played the exact same artist almost yet we went for the deep cuts with a few and I mean e few hits thrown in and every time we played people were telling us it was a breath of fresh air. Again you guys are great.
Your preaching to the choir. So tired of our songs.
Lol. Your mic when doing the review sounds like some was taking the biggest bong hit ever at 7:35 min mark.
Might have been...
I have the 40watt MK2 Combo and I love it. Just the right size for gigs and playing at home. Great tube amp sound without breaking the bank.
If you buy one of these, you'll need a good amp doctor on speed dial..
You deserve more subscribers Rich.. lov it
