  • It is often claimed by Christian missionaries that there are no hadith collections from the first century of hijra. According to them the first hadith collections were written around 250 years after the Prophet Muhammad. What do Western scholars say?

Christians and seculars alike have a Christian understanding of scripture: that it's a bunch of stories.
However, they forget that the companions, successors, and successors of successors breathed the prophetic traditions as it was all spiritual and legislative knowledge. In other words, they practised it through the years, so it would be very easy for a community to remember the "guidelines" while practising.

in clarifying the authenticity on one hadith, if that one hadith only has one narrator secluded by other in community (no other witness except himself), no matter how good the hadith might be, it 'd be classified as a weak hadith.
This is how strict they are (the scholars) in clarifying a single hadith. they only accept a hadith when it has a strong narrators (more than one), and that narrators has no history in lies, has no bad habits, proof and known by many as a pious. Any doubt to the narrator would effect the authenticity of the hadith they narrates, and the narrated hadith has a solid links to the prophet (without any missing links).
The scholars of Christianity or missionary needs to learn this method in clarifying their text, a system to protect the authenticity on one text.
If they apply the same method in bible, I believe, all text in bible wouldn't pass the test. since they never know who the real narrator of those text. never. not a single text would pass this kind of method in clarifying the authenticity of historical witness.

In Christianity it was mostly about the doctrine issues and there were so many doctrines like unitarianism, arianism, trinitarianism, doceticism, nestorians and a whole pile of other “heresies”. That’s why there was a need for “Ecumenical councils later on to reconcile the mess that had become of Christianity.

ِAll Muslim scholars agree that any hadith IS NOT AUTHENTIC 100% and they agree that only Quran is AUTHENTIC 100%
Thus you can jump to a very clear conclusion that a Muslim is not obliged to follow any hadith
    BUT
At the same time, a Muslim should follow some hadiths because there is Sunnah and the hadiths are a part of the Sunnah and the companions used to narrate them. Thus a Muslim can not ignore the Sunnah completely.
So how can Muslims solve this problem?
The best solution, in my humble opinion, is: to follow only the hadiths that
1- do not contradict with the holy Quran for example: there are many Quranic verses show that a human being is free to follow any religion and that is God who guides people or makes them go astray So the hadiths about killing the Muslims who choose to leave Islam are not correct
2- can not hurt any Muslims in any way
3- can not affect the health of a Muslim because these hadiths are not 100% authentic then a Muslim can not trust them 100% for his health

    • @karimb972
      @karimb972 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

You're making stuff up. No Sunni Alim has ever said that: ever. Muttawatar hadith have same status as Quran. If you reject hadith, you reject Sunna, if you reject Sunna you reject Islam. All the Sunni ulama agree on that.

Muslim scholars got a lot of differences to the extent that they killed or prisoned each others.
      Ibn Taymiyah died in prison
Al-Shafi'i was sent from Yemen to Iraq to be executed ...etc
If you discuss scientifically the opinions of all Muslim scholars you will reach the final conclusion that Quran is the only authentic text Muslims have.
While politics plays a huge role in authenticating the Sunnah
      Salafie vs Ash'aris for example
And both in reality can not be trusted because Muslims are being killed everyday while all these Salafi or Ash'aris scholars did nothing about it because they are corrupt or deviated
Shi'i scholars, on the other hand, are obviously the enemies of Islam
      So whom can you trust???????????????????
      The answer is nobody
      Thus the final conclusion is:
A Muslim can consider the holy Quran authentic 100%
And can choose from hadiths what his heart feel authentic after consulting the different opinions of scholars about it.
So it is your heart is the one who will authenticate the hadiths and Sunnah because it is you who will be judged on the judgment day.
God gave you a brain to use so use it to choose what is right and what is wrong
and do not forget that some companions also killed each other and fought battles against each other during the Fitnah of Killing the Khalif Uthman
Wake Up! And do not follow scholars blindly because most of them are victims of politics

You and other Muslims are brainwashed about the authenticity of Hadeeths
Scientifically, no hadeeth can be 100% authentic
The holy Quran is scientifically authentic only because the copies that were written during the era of the calif Uthman ibn Affan are currently preserved in the museums. So the holy Quran was written immediately after it was revealed and its early versions are exactly similar to the copies of Quran we use today thus it is 100% authentic. Any scientists from any country (Muslim or non-Muslim) will be obliged to admit that the holy Quran is 100% authentic because we have well-preserved early copies.
I challenge you to show me written copies of the hadeeths we have today provided that these written copies should have been written during the prophet's life or at most during 20 years after his death .
Narrations and series of narrators scientifically means nothing.
God asked us, in a big number of verses in the holy Quran, to use our brains to find the truth so use your brain.
It is very well-known that the prophet pbuh himself asked his companions NOT TO WRITE THE HADEETHS.
By the way, there were a lot of Shi'i narrators among of the narrators of Hadeeth.
Another discovery I made: all the authors of the six books of Sahih were originally from Iran or the surrounding areas. Non of them was from Al-Madinah, Mecca or the Arab countries!!!!!!!!!!
The devil was unable to change anything in the holy Quran but in the books of hadeeths you find a lot of weak hadeeths.
It was enough for the devil to change few hadeeths to make Muslims deviate from the real path of Islam and that is exactly our situation today.

You have mentioned some important ones , But a Saheefah which Jonathan seems to have missed there is Al Saheefah al Sahihah by the companion Abdullah bin Amr bin Al As
Abu Hurairah said ; There is none among the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) who has narrated more Hadiths than I except `Abdullah bin `Amr (bin Al-`As) who used to write them and I never did the same.
    Narrated by buhkari 113
Imam Al-Darimi as well as Al khatib Al Bagdadi narrate that Mujaahid said:
    “I came to `Abdullaah bin `Amr,
And I pulled a Saheefah that was under his mattress , but he stopped me.”
I said: “why have you stopped me like this?”
He said: “This is the truthful Saheefah which I heard directly from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and there was no one between me and him. So, if I only have the Book of Allaah and these scrolls and al-Wahṫ (his garden) , then I don’t care of what I miss of this world”
Anyway , people have an ignorant idea that hadiths were not recorded until imam bukhari and muslim came , which is false , to give a short and brief examples of hadith collections that we have today written by people born before buhkari (born 194 ah) and muslim (born 206 ah) , other than the ones mentioned by brother paul :
1- the Juz of Ibn Juraij (born 80 Ah)
2- The Mashyakah of Ibn Tahman (died 168 AH)
3- The Jami’ of Muamar Bin Rashid (born 93 Ah)
4- The Nuskah of Al Zuhri (born 108 Ah)
5- Kitab Al Athar By Abu Yusuf Al-ansari (born 113 ah)
6- The Musnad of Ibn Mubarak (born 118 ah)
7- Kitab Al-Zuhd By Waki’ Bin Al-jarah (born 129 Ah) as well as his Nuskah
8- the Musnad of Al-Tayalsi (born 133 Ah) , This was narrated by Yunus Bin Habib , who in turn was born (94 Ah)
9- Kitab Al-zuhd by Abi Muhammad Al Absi (born 120 ah)
10- The tafsir of Yahya Bin Salam born (124 Ah)
11- Al Jami’ , Al Musnad , and Al qadar all three by Abdullah bin wahab (born 125 ah) ,
12- Kitab Al-zuhd by al Mu’afa bin Umran (born approximately 125 Ah)
13- The Musanaf of Abdalrazaq al san’ani (born 126 ah) as well as his famous tafsir
14- Kitab Al-athar by Muhammad al shaibani (born 131 ah)
15- Kitab Al-zuhd by Assad Bin Musa (born 132 ah)
16- The Musnad of Ali Ibn Al-jaad (born 134 ah) collected by al bagawi
16- the Juz of Bakr bin bakar (died 207 Ah)
17- The Nuskah of Talut Bin Abad (died 238 , born approximately in the first half of the 2nd century) as collected by al bagawi , his collection is unique as it contains extremely short chains dating back to the prophet , with times merely two persons between him and the companions of the prophet
18- The Musnad And Al Sunan Al-Mathor both by Al Shafi’i born 150 Ah, he narrated hadiths in other places as well
19- Kitab Al-zuhd by Hanad Bin al-Siri (born 152 ah)

22- The musnad of imam ahmad
    (born 164 ah)
    23- Sunan Al-darimi (born 181 ah)
You also have books which collected history as well as Seerah that contain narrations of hadith, like:
The Tabaqat By Ibn saad (born 168 ah)
The history of Kalifah ibn al khayat (born 160 ah)
The history of madinah by Ibn Shabbah (born 173 ah)
    And many many others
And these are far from being the only hadith collections we have before buhkari and muslims

Jazak Allahu Khayran brother Paul for bringing the proofs and evidences that truly the hadeeth tradition has been clear stablished by these saheefas which comes from the Arabic grammar صحيفة that comes from the word Suhuf or صحف which means a sheet or loose page and the Qu'ran makes much relevance to prophet Ibrahim and prophet Musa and the Qu'ran itself. The following verses exemplify the use of the word Suhuf:
    Surah Al-Ala, Verse 18:
    إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ
Verily! This is in the former Scriptures,
    Surah Al-Ala, Verse 19:
    صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ
The Scriptures of Ibrahim (Abraham) and Musa (Moses).
    Surah Al-Bayyina, Verse 2:
    رَسُولٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ يَتْلُو صُحُفًا مُّطَهَّرَةً
A Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ) from Allah, reciting (the Quran) purified pages [purified from Al-Batil (falsehood, etc.)].

It is understable. When one is receiving a series of unique knowledge from a unique teacher, the desire would be to note them down. And since the teaching of the Quran & Sunnah were very unique to the Arabs , it would have been every Sahabahs' desire.
I heard from many other Islamic scholars , that the Prophet had forbid Sahabahs from writing about his doings & saying for the reason being so that the Hadiths do not get mixed with writings of the Quran Verses . To me that made sense. That's why we found many of Quran parchments written by first Generation Muslims.
Some Muslim Scholars say that a few Verses in Quran may also have made the Prophet forbid the Sahabahs from writing Hadiths in his time was due to the verses revealed to him.
"And We brought down to you (O Muhammad) the Book with truth, confirming what came before it of the Scripture and superseding it. So rule among them in accordance with what God has brought down.“ 5:48
" Follow what has been brought down to you from your Lord and do not follow any allies besides Him. Rarely do you remember!" 7:3
"So in which hadith after it (Quran) do they believe?" 77:50"
"Or do you have some book in which you are studying?" 68:37
And there are many other Verses in Quran by which it becomes understable why the Prophet instructed his people to write nothing from him except the Quran, and for those who wrote any of his hadith, to be deleted.
For myself, to be on the safe side, I have choosen the middle way. If any of the Hadiths contradict the Verses of Quran in its entirety , against the entire nature of Quran, then I Ieave in believing it.
Shookar-Alhamdoliliah . God has preserved Quran for us so that we can revisit multiple times to check. We Muslims have Quran as our standard, the Criterion by which to find out the truth from the false.
" It was the month of Ramadan in which the Qur'an was [first] bestowed from on high as a guidance unto man and a self-evident proof of that guidance, and as the standard by which to discern the true from the false.........."
    2 : 185
"Hallowed is He who from on high , step by step , has bestowed upon His servant the Criterion by which to discern the true from the false, so that to all the world it might be a warning":
    25 : 1
"And We have certainly presented to the people in this Qur'an from every [kind of] example" . .......
    30: 58

Great Video Brother , i think the biggest problem is people don't get the oral transmitted of Quran and hadith
they don't understand how is it more stronger way of preserving the words more even than the written form
you can change texts you can lose a text , but you can't change people memories or lose a full generation who memorize Quran and Hadith
because they used to the bible studies they think Islamic knowledge are like that a lost and found .
Islamic knowledge was never lost to be found , and it's not like he said she said , we know every one in every chain of narration , if just one is not known we don't accept the Hadith
we still memorize Quran and Hadith , people think Muslims only memorize Quran , we memorize Hadith also , i want any one to listen to a scholar of hadith
they will not only give the hadith , they will give you the chain of narrations
and many of the students of hadith they memorize Bukhari and Muslim full books
with the narrations , and some parts of other books of hadith
not just that they also memorize weak hadith with the chain to tell you it's weak and where exactly is the weakness in the chain , to me that is a miracle

    • @Gs9sk
      @Gs9sk ปีที่แล้ว

Brother oral tradition is one of the weakest ways of
Preservation because human memory is fallible n it only takes one famous teacher
      To mess up some verses
Then everyone they taught learned the messed up verses
N then the most famous scholar that appears from
      Those
Students will teach those errors n since he’s human it’s likely he also will have verses himself he will memorize wrong n so in and so forth
Sahih bhukari 7191 shows Quran was about to be lost
      Cuz it was only memorized
When it was made into books
Ppl wrote down what they memorized n they memorized things wrong literally every single Muslim did
      And no one memorized
      Full Quran

The Paper of Jaber ibn Abdullah Al Ansary The 1st Narrator.
There are even documents that the prophet stamped such as a Constitution of Medina etc...
The fellowship of the prophet wrote EVERYTHING (Hadith along with Tafsir often beside a Quranic verse)... This drove the prophet to ADMONISH them "for such a thing caused the previous nations to be led astray."
*We have seen many examples nowadays for how mere "comments" are considered words of God...
ONLY when they separated the two it was again allowed by the prophet!!!!
This was to set a difference between the Quran (Phonetically revealed as is) & prophetic tradition(revelation expressed from the prophet own words & actions)
Later on the prophet even allowed to documenting the saying of the Israelite !!!
