I’m running out of ways to try to reach you. I’ve sent messages for a year. I would appreciate a response. Can I please get the speakers I ordered or a refund?
Back when I was 13 or 14 I bought a set of Realistic headphones that have the long 15' cable and 1/4 plug.
I think they were something like Nova 10's or something like that, the tags fell off years ago.
I know it took me 2 months of saturdays (all summer, 60 days) mowing yards to buy them.
Seams like they were around $29.00 but don't remember for sure... They were the Mid range cheap ones that I could get. I remember
The salesman plugged them into this real expensive receiver and the sound just blowed my mind! they still sound that good too!
I am 65 now and I still have them to this day and I still use them from time to time.
There made of this new stuff, PLASTIC, go figure. That was the NEW Rage in the 60's & 70's! We have the new process called Plastic!!!! LOL
I would love to have one of your kits but SSI says no you can't have any, no money... :(
Love your videos... LLAP
Seems pretty simple, but being simple makes it great
I think you mean electronic signal altering. It would have to have a battery or something as well as a ADC and DAC to do Digital Signal Processing.
You should check out the diy grado headphone community. There's a lot of good info on building your own pair of headphones
Thanks for the tip!
@@KirbyMeetsAudio you definitely should check it out! I'm about to get started on making my own grado cans.
Knowing how much bass I run through them, I thought the drivers would be wayy thicker. Damn those small drivers deliver A LOT
I think it would be cool to watch you build a set of headphones. I recently rebuilt a old pair from 70s , new drivers, some wiring, leather, and ear cuffs was fun to do.
That lil pcb being soldered directly to the jack has always freaked me out... I've never had a pair of headphones where I get nervous everytime I plug them in 😖
I can't wait to see your first headphone build. I MISS BUILD VIDEOS.
Entertaining, not just informative. Love your style and enthusiasm, brother!
All I could think about for the rest of the video, after you brought attention to the toilet paper was, "should have used Charmin" while playing that commercial of the child bear singing "cause my hiney's clean" in my head haha
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA 🙏🙌
Great video. For me, this reinforces the “snake oil” of upgraded cables. The tear down shows the basic tiny wires to the board/ jack output. Plugging in silver, braided etc. high end cables can’t change physics and magically alter the sound of the headphone output. You eyes and wallet know you’ve dropped money, so of course they “sound” better. Lol
Thanks for the video, first thought one on ebay looked broken but it's just the mechanism
The additional process step to drill out the hole for the cable jack is probably because the cnc mill cannot machine the hole from the top down, as it probably can't access it from the side (not 5 axes but only 3).
You stiffed the dog, she deserves some air time too, you know? And the Urban Gentry approves of your wristwatch.
She was in a video a few years ago! Maybe she does need a little more attention. ⌚👌
poor dog just wanted a cuddle. didnt even wanna get up for no good reason.. lol
Nice teardown. As they're so simple to disassemble you could always respray the wood.
Love the brass on those! Thanks for sharing Kirby!
Small speaker fit good in your ear plug holes, the pierced ones. I have several mates with large piercings, all have shown interests in interactive augmentation, with BT & LEDs
Great video . Would like to see some headphone mods.
the best driver to use for DIY is
Peerless HPD50
it is used in kennerton vali and many other headphones
i have made a lot of headphones myself and that driver really sound good
and best part is that all the specs like Qts, Qms and Qes specs are there on there datasheet
even Bl
so it makes it easy to design
Many thanks extremely valuable. Will certainly share content with my buddies.
I have These too and i am Reality happy with it. Now im knowing also whats inside..😀😀
cant wait for more of these
Is anyone else still waiting on a kit from his website? Seems to be a problem with a couple of people and he doesn't seem to respond to anything.
He won’t.
Would it be possible to rehouse headphones, not these ones obviously because they look great but I'm talking about your budget ones or would it not be worth it because of the price of rehousing them? Loving the teardowns by the way keep it up!
Love the teardowns
Me too!🙏
Missing the speaker builds though :(
+Kirby Meets Audio been using my headphones for sub frequency mic pickup (in reverse) surprised by results AND CHeap.
no edit on who won the speaker kit...?
Top comment!! hahaha email me!
No joke picked you before seeing this.
Kirby Meets Audio WHOOPWHOOP! Thanks for the quick response, I’m PUMPED! Will contact you now 😵🤯😝🙌🏼
You can tune those with an ear pad swap 👍🏼 I recommend the lamb skin or protein leather cups. Which ever won’t get you in trouble by peta lol
Cool vid! I look forward to more like this
Respect. Like everytime. Thank you.
Lol, and the winner is....noooooobody?
But anyone watching that far is already a winner. Interesting video. Thanks kirbs!
Headphones can be friggin awesome.. Those Meze 99´s look darn sweet too, maybe give ´em a drop of the ol´ Danish oil, they look a bit thirsty.. I´m not going to tear apart my Grado sr325 prestige´s, but i might just spin Manu Chao - Esperanza and enjoy some headphone delight /w an ice cold brew.. Looking foreward to more anything headphones !
magnetic screwdrivers. i Love ´em and hate ´em.. no toilet tissue, :D ..trousers today, fine - no need to mention next time :D))
Great stuff Kirby :)
What was the song you started playing after putting the headphones back together? Thanks!
Can you make a speaker that's dodecahedron shaped using the CNC in your future builds?
Nice! Would love to win a kit. 🤩
🤞
This membrane on the ear pads, that you like so much, is a weak point, because the plastic it is made of degrades after 2 years. Unfortunately, this also affects the replacement sheepskin ear pads from DekonAudio. Fortunately, there are now ear pads on the market that are made entirely of sheepskin and do not have the sewn-on weak spot. The headband is also faux leather and that too is coming apart after 2 years. I had my leather craftsman construct a headband from real leather. Since I wear the Headphone daily, I needed a durable variant.
Whats's the Ohm of these Drivers? assuming these are 40mm
I am building bluetooth headphones I keep changing my design though lot of thinking of what's best for sound that i'm looking for. I'd like to see what you come up with or your thoughts drivers and bands.
I’ll probably do a series on the build, lots of new stuff I’m learning about headphone voicing. Thanks for watching!
@@KirbyMeetsAudio "Full Compass" website has parts I got my headphone drivers from them
Looks like it woud be esy to tune the bass ith those ports on the plate.
thanks bro
after months of researching and trying out headphones, I finally ordered a pair today, since my current headphones gave up on me -.-
I ordered the audio technica ath-msr7nc. not 100% satisfied with the pick, but I need new headphones and these were the best value for money and the best trade-off between hifi and portable. I really liked em when I tried them in the store, but they lack some low mid oompff for my taste. just a little bit of bulk? mids in general I guess. I love mids haha. I'll just try to eq the hell out of em, that should work out I think. combining android's build-in eq and my music player's eq, gives me a total of 11 functionally different bands. I liked the mezes as well, but imo they lacked mids even more. solid pair of cans though, and veeery stylish, they look great
The ear cups are in fact a nightmare to put back on.
So glad maze are Romanian quality products!
Those look comfortable to wear, all be it a bit out of my price range.
Have you ever try Grado MS-1?
sir how to make a wooden headphones from walnut wood
make a video....
On it. Thanks for watching!
AKG K550 mk2 - for me, the best HP ever. Not much bass, very good mids and trebles, my type of sound. Reproduction quality and comfort - out of this planet. I had HP 2,5x more expensive, but k550 is the winner.
You don't want bass? Or you don't want excessive bass?
@@sswpp8908 99 are bass kings no doubt, if someone like to feel bass vibrations thats the one
Please make some headphones.
The difference is Magic. Er. Magnets. Magic Magnets. That reminds me, I wonder what 3D Printed Wooden earcups are like.
You shud mack your own headphones
That headphone kicks like a subwoofer
Oh I forgot q&a rotary subwoofer project?
if it was a bit cheaper i would buy it 100%
Search “MASSDROP X MEZE 99 NOIR CLOSED-BACK HEADPHONES”. All black version is USD$200 on Massdrop.
PCB = printed circuit board
Nice video!!!
If you send me a kit I WILL BUIlD IT!!!
She's my cousin
cups are sadly cheap shit. that breaks fast.
