Your idea for the cell from the unseen timeline obtaining dna from beings like Majin buu, beerus, etc while incubating would have made a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more interesting concept for super hero.
This is great. I actually had a what if idea involving the unseen timeline. What if, when future trunks was trying to escape to the past in Dragon Ball Super, Black tried stopping him and due to some form of temporal distribution from the time ring connecting with the energy emitting from the Time Machine, it sends Trunks back to the unseen timeline rather than the main timeline. From there, Future Trunks would realize something is wrong when he is surprised to see Goku alive and mentions his death against Cell, and of course this Goku has no idea what he is talking about. Eventually Future Trunks puts the pieces together and realizes this is the timeline that the other Trunks went too, and he explains who he is and that what is happening. It would lead to an interesting relationship dynamic, for Vegeta especially. He probably never really bonded with his future trunks the same way the main timeline Vegeta did, and because no Cell to kill Trunks in front of him, their relationship never developed much. So Vegeta upon hearing how the Future Trunks he knew is now dead would be interesting.Same for Future Trunks. These aren’t the same friends or father he saved and bonded with, they are just different versions another version of him saved.
Would Majin Buu, Beerus and Golden Frieza still happen in the unseen timeline? With no Cell there, they'd probably be weaker (Gohan as well) and discover SS2 much later
I also really like your what if scenario. But what if instead of going back accidentally because of Goku black, Whis sent future trunks and Mai to the unseen timeline? Or to the original timeline? After future trunks’ timeline was destroyed? Now, imagine future trunks trying to live in either of these timelines! I also agree with your comment regarding Vegeta, I don’t think his character development would have been to the same degree as the main timeline Vegeta.
@@XZAVIER-DAA-GOD Chiatzu He literally trained under King Kaio, And he defeated him in the afterlife, And Guldo was able to fight with Krillin and Gohan Who had a power level of 13'000 and 18'000 at that time, So Guldo was on a similar level, It's worth noting that he's fought two, so probably his time stoppage in terms of a single opponent could work, Either way, it's not Important, Chiaotzu one Shoot him, that's mean, that Chiatzu is Stronger than Raditz and Nappa, Probably on the level of Goku in Sayan Saga, It was said that Chiatzu himself trained, so he is in Cell Saga much stronger, But still, it doesn't matter because Roshi has a power level of 139 Which is literally pathetic Compared to Chiaotzu
Dragon ball multiverse has a chapter dedicated to what happened in the unseen timeline. I’m not a huge fan of db multiverse but their depiction of the unseen timeline is easily one of my favorite things to come out of a fan manga.
The events of Super Android 13 could actually fit perfectly in the Unseen Timeline. It is clearly shown in the beginning scene, that the movie takes place after 17 kills Dr. Gero. And there is also no mentioning of 16, 17, 18, or Cell in the film. Implying that the Androids were possibly defeated, and Cell never shows up. Think about it, why would Goku and the others go to the mall, when there are three androids on the loose (16,17, 18), and three new ones arriving (13,14,15). Not to mention Cell who is after two of them?
@OmarO Thatˊs what I am thinking. Also this Future Trunks is low powered compared to the one in the anime series when you look at his portrayal in SUPER ANDROID 13, BOJACK UNBOUND, BROLY, THE LEGENDARY SUPER SAIYAN in particular.
Something along with that, is that trunks says the androids show up in May, and in the movie, chichi tells gohan that he can't go and fight the androids with goku and trunks, because she says gohan starts summer school the very next day, and that gohan promised he would study during summer. So this movie probably has to take place weeks after android 17 kills gero. And then with that, goku also says that android 14 and 15 were downgrades the the previous models, which goku most likely is referring to android 17 and 18, since they're show in the beginning of the movie so they probably fought goku and the others, before 13 14 and 15 show up.
I that trunks died before that event because he didn't stay because he got the android shutdown machine.plus movies ain't cannon but I see all the films in there own timeline
One way I thought of to make it make sense. Is that the moment when trunks and everyone else got to the lab, they were able to kill the doctor just before he turned them on but still had the remote in his hands and that’s how he would’ve got it
I noticed you said around 4:00 Goku defeated the androids lol. No wayyy. But I understand you were thinking about Goku defeating Frieza and King Cold. Thanks for the video, LSM!
We also know Trunks didn’t train with Vegeta in the room of Spirit and Time because he was overtaken by base-form Cell. Even if Cell was suppressing his power, he’d need to power up to a noticeable amount prior to attacking Trunks.
Cell did indeed reveal the existence of the laboratory basement, but even without knowing this, Trunks would still likely search the site of the lab for any clue or leftover technology, since he himself did think of the likelihood that Dr. Gero had an emergency plan. Since they never knew the lab's exact location in the future, now that they do, they'd likely search it thoroughly and probably spotted the basement. This enables a scenario where the team only achieved a Pyrrhic victory, with Goku, Vegeta and the nameless Namek all gone, along with the dragonballs. The notion of ascending beyond Super Saiyan would be gone, so Trunks's only hope now was to find something of value in the lab. After finding the blueprints in the basement, he finally had hope. However, what the heck was that thing growing in the incubation tube?! After defeating the cyborgs in his timeline, he went to Dr. Gero's lab there, but found that the thing inside the incubation tube had apparently matured. An ominous feeling compelled Trunks to travel to Dr. Gero's lab in the past yet again, this time a year earlier, to try to find out what that creepy thing was. He'd find that out sooner than he thought, however...
The most interesting part of the unseen timeline is you don’t have a future cell traveling to the timeline escalating the android threat. You either A) Get cell possibly destroyed in his larva state or B) If that cell were to survive, he’d still have 20+ years before he could ever be complete. By then the androids would mostly be destroyed and cell would be way too weak to fight any Z fighters assuming they keep up training
So, I didn't even think much about this logistically until I saw this video and then delved into the idea of the Four Timelines. But in the process of learning of the Four Timelines, I originally thought there was just the three and somehow brainwormed my way to make that one work but under some weird concessions. Ones that kind of thematically runs with the idea of each of the threats supposedly going to be the original threat before Toriyama was made to change it. So here's a goofy flowchart I put together to try and explain how it "could" work in three timelines: Original Timeline: Goku Dies -> 19/20 show up and kill everyone -> OG Trunks goes back in time -> OG Trunks comes back and defeats 19/20 , destroying 16-18 with the main lab -> Trunks dies to Cell -> OG Cell Goes back in time. Trunks Timeline: OG Trunks gives imperfect heart medicine -> 19/20 and OG Trunks show up, 19/20 defeated, Gero escapes but Z-Warriors plan to hunt him down -> OG Trunks returns to future unaware of 17/18 or Cell but knowledge of the main lab -> Goku relapses and dies -> Gero manages to activate 17/18, who kill everyone -> Future Trunks goes back in time with improved heart medicine based off OG heart medicine -> Future Trunks comes back and defeats 17/18, along with Cell Main Timeline: Usual events of DBZ .... It's kind of slapdash and probably doesn't even work due to my vague memories of the arc. Accounts for all three Cells and maybe-kinda sidesteps the need for the Unseen Timeline altogether, at least. Just having Trunks acting like the editor and revisioning how the story went each time. Maybe works better as a What-If than an actual answer.
The most difficult head spinning saga in Dragonball history. Pun intended. I always thought the possibility of "History of Trunks" Trunks meeting himself from the unseen timeline was a possibility but after watching this analysis and theory on it I can view it a little differently.
Just thought that maybe trunks set the coordinates to a different date because he was exiled from the unseen timeline by vegeta for using the shutdown remote? He could have went farther back to see if he could rewrite history without angering his father?
Love these videos, keep it coming! One question I’ve always had was why didn’t Goku be granted a pass on Earth like he was given in the Buu Saga to come back to life to fight the cyborgs?
I could be wrong and this is just head canon but i swear it mentioned he was given the pass because he sacrificed himself to save earth from cell. Him dying from the heart virus means he wouldn't have gotten a free pass.
In a related bit of nitpicking though I always wondered why goku or the others didn't just use King Kai's power to figure out where new namek was and relay that information to Gohan and Trunks to with the others back or at the very least tell them about the time chamber.
Good question, I think wat the guy up top said about the heart virus could be it. Goku having died naturally coulda been a big factor. Maybe they weren't a big enough threat? They bought Vegeta back to specially help fight Buu, who was actively destroying the universe AND afterlife. So there IS a precedent there. I know Super wasn't thought about when it was written but it woulda probably took Whis or the super dragonballs to override the natural death clause lol
Since you’re doing a lot of cell content, I would love for you to make a video about whether or not super perfect cell was actually weaker than SSJ2 teen Gohan
Good work. ----- I agree that Kami would not fuse with Piccolo, Goku would still be moved to master roshi's place. ----- Two possibilities follow in my eyes. ---- Due to the fact that they are focusing 100% on the Androids as opposed to trying to find Cell and deal with the Cyborgs. They'd come up with the idea of Trunks going to find the remote, which ultimately makes him "Wait" to go into the Room of Spirit and Time. Since Vegeta doesn't have a training partner. Goku and Gohan go into the Room of Spirit and Time first. Since they only needed 21 hours they'd be out sooner than Vegeta and Trunks, right around the time when Piccolo is challenging the Androids. Piccolo not fused with Kami and the others don't have a chance but that's when Goku and Gohan (In Full Power Super Saiyan make their debut. Now remember Android 17 said he'd kill Piccolo if he did not tell him where Goku was, plus they outright state their intention is to kill Goku. Since they make their intentions clear, Goku has no hesitancy of destroying them or ordering Gohan to do so. Goku takes out 16 and Gohan beats down Number 17 and Number 18 (In ironic twist). Vegeta trains in the Room of Spirit and Time (he doesn't witness Goku''s power against the Androids). Trunks leaves to deactivate the Number 17 and Number 18 of his own timeline (Or maybe) Goku and Gohan just go forward in time and take them out for him. Either way Trunks is weaker and stays in timeline Number 3. After that Goku has a re-match with Vegeta and easily beats him. Vegeta trains in the Room of Spirit and Time again (For another year but since he doesn''t have a partner still loses in the end. That would end their version of the "Cell Arc"....Kami would remain guardian, Gohan would not gain Super Saiyan 2, King Kai still has his planet. Krillin doesn't have a wife (Poor guy). Vegeta is discouraged but keeps training. ---------- The 2nd major possibility is this ----------- Kami goes down (Via Mr. Popo's carpet) right as soon as Piccolo is threatened by the Cyborgs at Kami's house. Piccolo fuses with Kami he fights Number 17, Goku takes out Number 16 (After arriving with Gohan shortly after Piccolo fuses) and Gohan takes out the Android that Piccolo doesn't take on. ----- Goku and Gohan take out their opponents and let Piccolo finish his fight. I'd say Piccolo is going to win for 1 simple reason: Light Grenade. Many people might say that 17 is too fast to be hit by it but here's the thing: When Piccolo fires the Light Grenade we saw how 17 reacted, this blast was not even directed AT him and he still ran away. We saw how 17 reacts from an in-universe perspective....with fear. If 17 felt the need to dodge it (When it wasn''t even aimed at him) instead of raising his barrier then it's logical to assume that if Piccolo shot it ANYWHERE near him, even if it was not a direct hit, it would have done major damage. ----- So 17 would lose by being wounded. Then Piccolo (Yes he's tired) can take advantage of 17's wounds and eventually kill him. After that the same things happen with Goku and Vegeta fighting, Trunks going forward in time. Only because Kami is gone they eventually have Goku find new namek and bring Dende at some point. ----- As for the Buu saga ------- that's another story.
Piccolo expressed his intention to stay at kamis until he changed his mind so he's not at kame house to be threatened only yamcha and kuririn might be. But Goku doesn't tell them where he's going to train for a year in a day.
There is a Dragon Ball Super Toy commercial as an ad on this video, they had a Cell toy and a Gohan toy fighting like that recently happened on TV broadcast.
It's honestly naivete from Goku constantly because if he had trained first then told Vegeta about it he would've not been like "Now when I'm gone for a day and you think you've trained enough to defeat anyone, don't go do something provocative now" and trusts him completely not to do something asinine
Man you on a roll with these video uploads. Keep up the good work. Also, one minor correction Mike.... Cell, from Timeline 1: The Original Timeline (AKA the "Cell Games" version), created Timeline 3: The History of Trunks Timeline when he went back to Age 763 (the timeline in which the version of Future Trunks that we see for the very first time in the series came from). It was Trunks from Timeline 3 that created Timeline 4: The Main Timeline when he went back to Age 764. So cell only indirectly created the 4th timeline by way of Timeline 3 Trunks, not directly.
I barely remembered there was this unseen timeline. It has been a while since I watched the parts of the Cell Saga that cover this topic. I personally think you did an excellent job explaining this. With no Cell trying to reach perfection around to motivate the Z Fighters decisions on how to become more powerful it would probably require Bulma or her dad to improve the gravity chambers to make them stronger faster or maybe the Z Sword......probably.
what if the unseen timeline is the one where the trunks is from(the one we see in the series)? the original trunks has gone back one year before goku came back and killed freeza and king cold, that means he never interfered with this timeline, meaning it could still result with androids coming, goku dying and trunks going back in time. the og trunks may have just found geros lab, took the blueprints, and the og bulma build the shutdown device. now og cell kills og trunks, takes the time machine and creates the main timeline. that way all timelines are connected to each other
I finally figured out the Trunks' cells plothole. When Cell stole the time machine Trunks had already gone back in time. Cell did not know about the alternate timelines, but he did know that trunks would be their in the past. Because he already was.
In the unseen timeline they most likely found the blue prints to shut down the Androids, that means Trunks never needed to train in the chamber nor did Goku or Vegeta, they deactivate the Androids in the unseen timeline, that timeline is now saved, that means no time chamber training, no Cell games, no need for Piccolo to merge with Kami, no ssj2 power up so Badidi doesn't bother to come to Earth as the energy to revive Buu isn't enough. Trunks in the unseen timeline then says his goodbyes and goes back to his original timeline and deactivates the Androids in his timeline..So now both the unseen timeline and original timelines are saved, Trunks lives in peace for the next three years, and that's when Cell shows up and kills Trunks, Trunks didn't do the time chamber training so he wasn't strong enough to beat Cell. And then that same Cell comes to the main timeline. The original timeline has to be the most sad, as theres literally no hero to defend it everyones pretty much dead including Trunks. Future Trunks learned about his future selfs mistake of not training in the chamber so he trained and anticipated Cells arrival after the cell games as he returns back to his own timeline. This is why the Androids and Cell saga is the best you have so many twists and turns, unpredictability, mysteries etc.
@@dr.samarsarkar8791 Because Trunks had the power up of SS2 by then but before that Babadi never came, Babadi´s arrival depends on what planet he can trace a llarge amount of Ki, think about it, Trunks was a Super Saiyan for a long time and they never showed up, it wasnt until Trunks powered up to SS2 then Babadi came to earth. Babadi even said they came to earth 300 years ago but found no one with great Ki, he only came back for the large trace of Ki developeding on Earth.
This is great content. I reckon there are two simultaneous timelines on recurring loops prior to the cell saga airing on TV. Both centre on whether Goku dies of the heart virus or not. Every second timeline is one where Trunks gives the heart medicine, coming from a dark timeline where Goku has died and the androids have taken over. Every future trunks gets killed in a sneak attack by cell using his tail to the neck, prior to trunks “going back in time one last time and telling the Z fighters in the past he defeated the androids in his time”. I think the only reason the TV series shows “mainline” future trunks killing cell in the future, after the cell games in the past, is that it’s a TV show, and it’s nice for the kids to watch butch trunks KO everyone in his future timeline including cell. As an adult, I think to show the cycle starting again with trunks getting killed by cell would have been dark as hell, and awesome, but would made me proper depressed as a kid. I think the TV execs thought “nup, let’s have a happy ending”
Great content. I love deep dives into DBZ lore. Has anyone ever told you that you kind of sound like Chills, the Burger King Foot Lettuce guy? Like a cross between him and the rich villain from The Dark Knight Rises. Just a random observation that I thought was cool, no offense intended haha. Keep up the great content!
This is how the Unseen Timeline plays out in my head: Android 19 and Android 20 show up and Vegeta destroys 19. Trunks arrives from the future to help and finds that it's two different Androids that he has never faced. (I believe 19 and 20 also show up in the original, but are beat much like in every other timeline, except in the original, Gero gets back to the base without the Z Fighters finding them. This leads to only 17 and 18 being activated as 16 was designed to kill Goku and Goku would be dead, and they kill Gero without the Z Fighters being there.) In the unseen timeline, after everyone witnesses the death of Gero, 16, 17, and 18 all make their way to chase down Goku. Piccolo and Kami decide to fuse. The Z Fighters fight the androids, Goku v 16, Piccolo v 17, Vegeta v 18, and just as theyre about to lose, Trunks and Krillin and Gohan use the deactivation devices on them. Trunks helps fight 13, 14, and 15 before going back to the future. (Secret Lab is still around, thus why they and Cell emerge.) Goku finds Dende and Earth has a new Guardian. Z Fighters fight Meta Cooler. Trunks never comes back like he promises cause he dead. Goten is born. 7 years pass and the Z Fighters have a tough fight with Dabura and Babidi. Because no one has high power levels, not enough energy is gathered for Majin Buu and they defeat Babidi. Goku is too weak for Oracle Fish to give Beerus the prophecy that he will one day face a true opponent. So Beerus never wakes up. Cell arrives in the distant future and seeks 17 and 18, but theyre dead. So now Cell lies in the dark just eating people until eventually he is discovered by the Time Patrol and defeated in secret. Peace.
Hearing the original timeline, makes me wonder why couldn't Whis have sent the Trunks that had his timeline erased by Zeno to the timeline of the original future trunks that was murdered by Cell. Then again, it still wouldn't have made much of a difference. From what we know during the Goku Black story arc, Dabura and Babidi would have eventually visited the Earth of the Timeline 1 Trunks (Killed by Cell) and would have likely succeeded in resurrecting Majin Buu on Earth, in which Babidi would have then ordered buu to destroy the earth. With no future trunks in the Timeline 1 Earth, its likely that the Surpreme Kai would not have been able to find a champion to train and kill off Babidi and Dabura.
The one thing i stumbled with is the second Trunk's existence. Since Cell created a split when he travedled back there would need to be another android future to cause Trunks to travel back. The only thing that would make that happen is Cell being killed before he could absorb the androids. Recreating the andrid future and Trunks traveling back making the main story
I don't think that android 19, 20 or 16 were around in the unseen timeline. I think their existence is cells butterfly effect, not trunks. Obviously they still exist but I don't think they appear to the z fighters. Similarly to how they don't appear in trunks timeline and the original timeline. 16s existence would muddy the water a lot considering he's stronger than imperfect cell
I always thought cell should have stolen Trunks time machine while he killed the Androids, and instead of building a new time machine he just tells his mother he knows what's going to happen to that cell, making the circle complete
My head canon is that trunks did use the shutdown device. Since things diverge in the unseen timeline, enough time could have passed that goku vegeta and trunks trained and could have still received a beat down from the androids but escaped so out of desperation they could have gone to gero’s lab remains to see if there is anything they can use and find the ladder thus get the blue print to create the remote, plus blow up the lab underground. After some more training the z fighters go for round 3 but the androids might show their full power and full potential thus leading to trunks using the remote before anyone got killed. The androids might choose to kill them this time as they got nervous that the z fighters are getting stronger and stronger without the time chamber. I believe that if trunks trained like in the main timeline he should have been able to take down his cell just from being alert to what he is sensing but if he got stronger but not time chamber stronger his cell should still be able to kill him while he was calibrating the Time Machine??? It that’s just what I think 🧐
at least you admit its your headcanon hence totally irrelevant to anyone discussing it who's not you. but you have to still write bible chapter comments about it because juvenile narcissism
You overlooked something important: Trunks and Gohan discussed the possibility of an underground lab existing even before Cell appeared. So they most likely went and searched the ruins in the unseen timeline, and that's how they deactivated the Androids. As for 16, I speculate Goku killed him with a Spirit Bomb.
Well this is one hell of a mess… The biggest problem is that Trunks and co only really learn about the shut off button because they go back to kill Cell while he’s gestating, so how can a version of Trunks who doesn’t know about Cell discover the button? And hence how could he have been surprised by Cell?
According to my calculations, it would've taken vegeta for example, 5yrs to get as strong as he did when he first got out the rosat via gravity training. The rosat was the best option, but even without it. They still get stronger than the androids and at least semi perfect cell. It'd just take longer. That could explain why future gohan didn't get major gain's. He had no partner or gravity room. On top of improperly training.
I think Cell just turned that entire Unseen Timeline into something similar to the Batman who laughs he mightve even gotten bored and took on a henchman to play with like I Have No Mouth Yet I Must Scream before locking up with Buu and since Cell doesnt really full around and no one was around for Buu to absorb Cell solo'd fat Buu before looking to the greater galaxy
Trunks made changed so much he made at least 4 timelines 1 main 2 trunk no time travel 3 cell taking time pod 4 trunks going back and some how winning which led to cell getting the time pod when he retuned. then there are probably many he failed or even made things worse after all that's how the cell trouble started in the main timeline.
One thing I think you might have forgotten to mention is that Future Trunks never returns to the Unseen timeline after he goes back to shut down the androids in the original timeline, because he gets killed there by Cell, and that cell goes to the main timeline. So that is the last time the Z figters saw Trunks in the unseen Timeline. Since the androids were likely shut down and destroyed there before Trunks returned to the original timeline, the Z fighters wouldnt have needed to train as hard, and eventually cell would emerge from that underground lab but with no ability to become perfect so the Z fighters would likely win anyway.
@@MaskedFighter no bro, the cell we know came from an unseen timeline where trunks killed the androids through time travelling as normal but in that trip from trunks there was no cell. Then when Trunks came back and charged the machine for another trip cell sneaked behind trunks, killed him, and went back in time 4 years(the time it took cell to develop from an insect to imperfect) before the events with the androids and 1 year before the arrival of mecha frieza
@@ayab_ibra7509 Trunks went to the unseen timeline (Very similar to the main Dbz timeline only the difference is there was no adult Cell, only the baby Cell at the lab which Krillin and Trunks kill at thelab and find the blueprints, since there no Cell to fight they deactivated the androids in the unseen timeline) but afterwards that Trunks returned back home to the original time line (no time chamber training so he didn't get the power up but he still took the blue prints and was also able to deactivate the Androids in his own time but he didn't know Cell was going to come so he was unprepared and was killed by Cell, therefore that Cell was from the original time line. In the original time line everyone is dead including trunks. People get confused by Future Trunks timeline and the original time line, remember there are two future Trunks, one survived and the other was killed by first form Cell.
@MaskedFighter the oringinal post was right. the cell from the unseen timeline is the one gohan beat. trunks killed the cell in the main timeline while he was still a larva. trunks also killed a third version of cell in another timeline
What would have happened to the Cell in the hidden lab if he wasn’t destroyed in the main timeline? When would he have been released (GT or Super) and who would have defeated him?
He was originally intended to have been released in the year 788 a year before GT takes place in the altered timeline. Brazy how while Trunks has just defeated Cell in his future world Baby has just taken over the world in the timeline he originally saved.
I believe Trunks traveled 20 years into the past so cell wouldn't come out until well after the buu arc, so db super should be when he comes out, heck, cell should also be after db super, super hero.
I like to think in this timeline Bulma built that device that deactivated the andriods and instead of the Krillmaster smashing it, someone else shut off the andriods and they disposed of the bodies, that my own head canon theory. That's what caused Cell to time travel, then just waited for Trunks to use his time machine.
I'd like to think the way the Unseen Timeline went was Toryamas original plan for the Android Saga where only Android 19 and Dr. Gero were supposed to be the only Androids.
that Trunks never knew Cell in the first place, after he destroyed the Android, he wanted back to the past to inform them the news that he already destroyed 2 Androids, but he has been killed.
What are the implications of Cell just existing on the planet during or after the Saiyan saga? Does his presence create any kind of butterfly effect on the character's growth? Going by your theory of Zenkai boosts scaling based on the present threat, that could be a way to explain the massive jumps in power the Saiyan characters started taking around Z when they started sensing such a dangerous being lurking on their planet Though by the same logic, such a thing should have been happening all along by virtue of Majin Buu being hidden on the earth...
the reason why the other Trunks knew, after he revived, went back to his timeline, destroyed 17 and 18, he knows that Cell is around, Cell was in shocked! and destroyed him. THE END. that's the reason why we need a prequel.
🤔 I think that bulma created a remote to deactivate the androids, then trunks was gonna go back and tell the z warriors in the past that he defeated the androids and cell took his time machine
Maybe Goku and Vegeta decide to train with EACH other in the TIME chamber? Im pretty sure they would have ascended to SS2 waay earlier pushing each other.
as I feel it goes, Cell is the first cell who goes back in time, if there is a unseen timeline that cell no longer exist cause first cell goes back to before Trunks, ending that timeline before it can change into the unseen timeline turning into future trunks line which that cell gets killed by trunks and Krillan killing main line Cell ends all Cells. 1st line - everyone dies and Cells goes back, 2nd line Everyone dies but Trunks but that time fades when 1st cell goes back before ending the 2nd line, 3rd line is started from when Cell went back, this is where i believe future trunks comes from and finally 4th line which is a 2nd line from the Cell branch (1st) is the main line we see but in this Line Future Trunks kills freeza which is a change from the previous timeline due to cells presence, which because Trunks kills freeza not Goku, Gero creates 16 to help handle this new powerful enemy which would be why 16 was so much more powerful than 17/18 and finally because of all this stuff changing it gives Kami a Cell villan to fuse with Piccolo to fight them. I think this is the only timeline they ever fuse as every other line Piccolo is killed in the initial android attack which i think gohan survives purely cause hes not there, hes helping Bulma and Yagerobi
It's actually interesting to know theres four Cells but we only see three of them on screen,. Because all these timelines were created theres always going to be an existence of Cell in some other timeline, an endless circle of events.
And thats before mentioning the universe Zeno dumped in him... Which impies 2more timelines? One for the "new" Future Trunks and one for that Future Trunks' past.
Question, if piccolo and kami were separated by shenron how much power would be lost? And what about nail would be only lose the power he gained from him or would it be split so now nail is much more powerful but still no as powerful than when they were fused
When future Trunks came back he said there weren’t any dragon balls around. Which mean Piccolo and kami has fused and killed. Otherwise they would have used them to fix the problem.
I feel like the DBZ Abridged team understands this better than a lot of people but they play it off as a joke. The Trunks we see isn't the only Trunks and there are more than one unseen timeline. It's kind of a butterfly effect thing but we only see it from one perspective. The DBZ Abridged team has the running gag that Trunks came back looking for two androids but there ended up being like 8. The Trunks we knew only knew about the two but there were multiple times Trunks went back and fucked up.
Actually Timeline 1 trunks warn z fighters about androids they defeat them by using remote control z fighters timeline 2 is saved and trunks returns to his timeline 1 and got killed by cell that also travel in past creating timeline 3 and 4,the timeline 3 where timeline 1 cell fought timeline 3 ssj2 gohan and future trunks returns to his timeline 4 and kills android instead of using remote control and also kills imperfect cell that tries to kill him like timeline 1 cell
Most likely, the Imperfect Cell of that timeline would kill everyone because they wouldn't be expecting him. Of course if Piccolo and Kami are still alive in that timeline, they could fuse again and maybe beat Cell, but more of the Z fighters and Earthlings would probably die from Cell before that. Also, Super Saiyan 2 probably wouldn't be unlocked by Gohan or even known about. But if they do defeat Imperfect Cell somehow, they all would most likely die to Babbidi and Dabura or Buu later on since they would be much weaker than the main timeline counterparts.
this might be irrelevant, but in the DBZ Anime filler Gohan achived SSJ2 for a brief second(In the Hyperbolic timechamber). And thats why Goku was so confied in Gohan in the Cell Games. So in a filler way Z Fighters would knew about SSJ2. Or just simply Goku&Veggie would try to unlock it
Depends. I’ve read that it’s implied that the events of Cell traveling to the main timeline caused the events of the buu saga to happen Sooner which is why trunks was dealing with babidi and Dabura way later than the main timelines Z fighters did. But then it can also mean it happened sooner due to the main timeline not living in a post apocalyptic era where humans were on the brink of extinction.
Summary: 1st timeline - Goku lands kills frost and freeza - he dies. Trunks goes back in time creating: 2nd timeline - Trunks kills frost and freeza- goku lives - cell kills trunks and goes back one year before trunks would have landed creating 3rd timeline - (Anime canon trunks' home timeline - this timeline is where he kills cell when he gets back) goes as normal- cell sleeps undeground - goku kills frost and freeza- trunks goes back in time creating: 4th timeline (this is the anime canon). Trunks goes back kills freeza and frost while cell is already underground and appears eventually
Timeline 1 trunks warn z fighters about androids they defeat them by using remote control z fighters timeline 2 is saved and trunks returns to his timeline 1 and got killed by cell that also travel in past creating timeline 3 and 4,the timeline 3 where cell fought ssj2 gohan and future trunks returns to his timeline 4 and kills android instead of using remote control and also kills imperfect cell that tries to pull timeline 1 cell.
If we're going off the anime, when Cell was telling piccolo about his origin, he mentioned trunks killing frieza and king cold but didn't need any of trunks DNA. That creates a plot hole, because that would be a trunks from a 5th timeline. I can draw it out for you and show how there are 5 timelines.
@@ReplyReaper8617 You mentioned that in Timeline 1 Trunks warns the Z fighters and they defeat them with the remote controls. The problem with that is Trunks would have traveled from a prior timeline to get to timeline 1.
So how many timelines do we have? 1) The original timeline where the Z Fighters died and Trunks went to the past. 2) The timeline we know and love that happened thanks to Trunks. 3) A future timeline that played out like the original until Cell killed Trunks and left for the past. (Is the the same cell that showed up in timeline 2?)
There’s 4 (well at least until super happened that gets a bit more complicated). You have the unaltered original future timeline (the original trunks dies by cell) Unseen timeline Main timeline Then you have the altered future time line. This timeline is basically the same as the unaltered OG TL until trunks going back to his timeline to destroy the androids and cell with his brute strength, breaks the loop, which diverges into its own separate timeline. This is the timeline Goku black would eventually come to.
Hey @laughingstockmedia what if Goku was never sent to earth and remained part of Frieza force? Not sure if you have done that yet...would be interesting for them to meet future villains
Future Trunks' timeline doesn't make sense with the inclusion of Future Cell. I mean Future Trunks from timeline 3 (unless there are more I haven't accounted for). Timeline 1 / Original Timeline - Plays out just like Future Trunks says - Goku dies to heat virus - Other heroes die to androids - Trunks goes back in time - Trunks kills androids - Cell kills Trunks and steals time machine Timeline 2 / Unseen Timeline - Trunks defeats Frieza and warns of androids - Goku has medicine so survives - Heroes defeat androids Timeline 3 / Twin Cells Timeline - Splits off from original timeline when future Cell arrives 4 years before androids. - Goku dies of heart virus - Heroes die to androids - Future Cell awakens from cocoon shortly after androids are activated - Future Cell absorbs androids? - Future Cell kills Trunks? Or Trunks survives but should at least know about Future Cell. - There is still the Cell from this timline in Gero's lab. Timeline 4 / Main Timeline - The Future Trunks in this timeline should've come from TL3 where there were two Cells. But he acts like he came from TL1, as he knows nothing of Cell. - The only way to make this TL make sense is if Future Cell was killed before he was able to absorb the androids. It's a stretch though, because if the heroes killed Future Cell, Future Gohan and Trunks would know about it. But if the androids killed Future Cell, they might go back to Gero's lab to kill the other Cell.
It is all messed up cause Cell said to Piccolo that during Gero's experiment there was a chance to take Trunks DNA when Freeza's was collected. That can only mean that Cell came from the main time line cause in the Future Trunks time line it was Goku the one that defeated Freeza and Cold, but Cell said that Trunks was there. So this can only mean that Cell came from a different Future, where Trunks did travelled to the past, defeated Freeza and returned to his time line where he somehow also defeated the androids....but wasn't strong enough to defeat Imperfect Cell. And why did he wanted to return a year before his first arrival?
maybe he came from the unseen timeline where all the z fighters died to android 16,17 and 18 16 would've killed kamicollo and goku easy he would simply grab goku and self destruct while cell is alive under the lab cause the only reason they knew about his location is because he snitched on himself in the main timeline
@@blessedxxiii8908 what's even crazier is that Cell should belong to a timeline where Future Trunks events are also a thing since the time machine is the exact same that Future Trunks used. EDIT: I can only blame Akira for mixing time travel concepts while creating Cell. Time travel worked like Multiple Timelines and as Paradox Time travel.
Android 16 was on par with middle form cell iirc. I also think Unseen Cell was found and destroyed. I also like the idea of Trunks shuts them down and goes home to defeat the future androids. Goku and Vegeta train to fight them and reactivate them resulting in the main timeline somewhat. With Kami they also have the dragonballs to wish back anyone the androids killed. In the Buu saga Piccolo absorbs Kami and Dende takes over. The androids if played out to where Vegeta didn't kill them help with Buu resulting in him not getting revived. Goku never died so hes a weaker ssj2 at this point probably. DBS arc is for Broly 10 years extra for Beerus's slumber. (Wheather Broly dies or not doesn't matter) Goku black doesn't happen although a timeline without any known saiyans is his paradise in the main timeline. No tournaments, shows over. (GT probably doesn't happen since the dragonballs haven't been used since Dende. Maybe it does if Pilaf steals the radar. Now that I think of it the only way GT can happen is if the DBS Pilaf steals the radar...) A black hole emerges from Toriyamas stubbed toe, evaporating the unseen timeline to the void since he can't milk it. Good ending. (Joke) sorry about this text wall.😅
Bro you are on a nonstop roll with all this great content. Appreciate you coming back to the tube!!
i am so glad mike is back on youtube with content. he is right now in my top 5 youtubers. Straight information from the manga, no bs
Every subject is top tier too
Your idea for the cell from the unseen timeline obtaining dna from beings like Majin buu, beerus, etc while incubating would have made a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more interesting concept for super hero.
My mind turned to scrambled eggs
I like the idea of Trunks just getting the controller to beat them. Makes him losing to Cell easier to buy.
It’s really the only plausible concept for how that’d happen
@@MLaak86 nah, probably got snuck up on and impaled by cell's tail.
@@Black_Knight_-BK- would Gt have happened ?
@@BrianAwesome maybe? Idk since its non canon
Maybe Master Roshi became the strongest in the world again, if Yajirobe and Chiaotzu weren't training
Chiatzu solo Roshi

Db multiverse chapter 62
The events of Super Android 13 could actually fit perfectly in the Unseen Timeline. It is clearly shown in the beginning scene, that the movie takes place after 17 kills Dr. Gero. And there is also no mentioning of 16, 17, 18, or Cell in the film. Implying that the Androids were possibly defeated, and Cell never shows up.
Think about it, why would Goku and the others go to the mall, when there are three androids on the loose (16,17, 18), and three new ones arriving (13,14,15). Not to mention Cell who is after two of them?
They were shown still being around
@OmarO Thatˊs what I am thinking. Also this Future Trunks is low powered compared to the one in the anime series when you look at his portrayal in SUPER ANDROID 13, BOJACK UNBOUND, BROLY, THE LEGENDARY SUPER SAIYAN in particular.
The movies don’t take place in any of the same universes/timelines as the show does bro. That’s already been established
Probably not if he stabbed him with his tail.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one thinking about this for years
The most interesting part of the unseen timeline is you don’t have a future cell traveling to the timeline escalating the android threat. You either A) Get cell possibly destroyed in his larva state or B) If that cell were to survive, he’d still have 20+ years before he could ever be complete. By then the androids would mostly be destroyed and cell would be way too weak to fight any Z fighters assuming they keep up training
There is so much lore you can make these videos off of and you never half ass it💯
EXCELLENT! Was gonna ask about the events AFTER OG trunks bit it BUT I waited and was BLESSED with thy knowledge. GLORIOUS work as usual my man
So, I didn't even think much about this logistically until I saw this video and then delved into the idea of the Four Timelines. But in the process of learning of the Four Timelines, I originally thought there was just the three and somehow brainwormed my way to make that one work but under some weird concessions. Ones that kind of thematically runs with the idea of each of the threats supposedly going to be the original threat before Toriyama was made to change it. So here's a goofy flowchart I put together to try and explain how it "could" work in three timelines:
Original Timeline: Goku Dies -> 19/20 show up and kill everyone -> OG Trunks goes back in time -> OG Trunks comes back and defeats 19/20 , destroying 16-18 with the main lab -> Trunks dies to Cell -> OG Cell Goes back in time.
Trunks Timeline: OG Trunks gives imperfect heart medicine -> 19/20 and OG Trunks show up, 19/20 defeated, Gero escapes but Z-Warriors plan to hunt him down -> OG Trunks returns to future unaware of 17/18 or Cell but knowledge of the main lab -> Goku relapses and dies -> Gero manages to activate 17/18, who kill everyone -> Future Trunks goes back in time with improved heart medicine based off OG heart medicine -> Future Trunks comes back and defeats 17/18, along with Cell
Main Timeline: Usual events of DBZ
Doing great with these uploads. Keep it up man! Always look forward to hearing your thoughts on all things Dragon Ball.
I love the thumbnail artwork for all the videos.
I think dragon ball would be more interesting if they had a version of cell trying to merge with Android 13,14,15 instead
Just thought that maybe trunks set the coordinates to a different date because he was exiled from the unseen timeline by vegeta for using the shutdown remote? He could have went farther back to see if he could rewrite history without angering his father?
In that scenario he would just be creating another alternate timeline
I would love to see a spinoff anime detailing hte events of the unseen timeline.
Since you’re doing a lot of cell content, I would love for you to make a video about whether or not super perfect cell was actually weaker than SSJ2 teen Gohan
Good work. -----
I agree that Kami would not fuse with Piccolo, Goku would still be moved to master roshi's place.
Goku and Gohan take out their opponents and let Piccolo finish his fight.
Your channel is pretty dope man. Very chill and relaxing. Keep it up!
With no Cell trying to reach perfection around to motivate the Z Fighters decisions on how to become more powerful it would probably require Bulma or her dad to improve the gravity chambers to make them stronger faster or maybe the Z Sword......probably.
i remmenber that long ass 1 hour video from almost a decade ago talking about all timelines even before it was recoignized in canon
what if the unseen timeline is the one where the trunks is from(the one we see in the series)? the original trunks has gone back one year before goku came back and killed freeza and king cold, that means he never interfered with this timeline, meaning it could still result with androids coming, goku dying and trunks going back in time. the og trunks may have just found geros lab, took the blueprints, and the og bulma build the shutdown device. now og cell kills og trunks, takes the time machine and creates the main timeline. that way all timelines are connected to each other
I finally figured out the Trunks' cells plothole. When Cell stole the time machine Trunks had already gone back in time. Cell did not know about the alternate timelines, but he did know that trunks would be their in the past. Because he already was.
Thank you for these videos man, you don't realise how much I appreciate you. Thank you for this great content.
Agreed, he answers questions I diddnt know I needed answers to haha
bro i learn new things about dragon ball from ur videos
your videos are the bestest !
Babidi would come to earth regardless of the events since he does ends up coming in the future trunks timeline .
Babadi even said they came to earth 300 years ago but found no one with great Ki, he only came back for the large trace of Ki developeding on Earth.
no wonder Zamasu got pissed. All this can cause confusion 😂
I love your posters. Your whole background setup is very nice.
This is how the Unseen Timeline plays out in my head:
Android 19 and Android 20 show up and Vegeta destroys 19.
Trunks arrives from the future to help and finds that it's two different Androids that he has never faced. (I believe 19 and 20 also show up in the original, but are beat much like in every other timeline, except in the original, Gero gets back to the base without the Z Fighters finding them. This leads to only 17 and 18 being activated as 16 was designed to kill Goku and Goku would be dead, and they kill Gero without the Z Fighters being there.)
In the unseen timeline, after everyone witnesses the death of Gero, 16, 17, and 18 all make their way to chase down Goku.
(Secret Lab is still around, thus why they and Cell emerge.)
Goku finds Dende and Earth has a new Guardian.
Peace.
I don't think they could defeat Dabura without discovering SSJ2.
My brain just melted
One of my favourite TH-cam channels now.
Whatever happened in the unseen timeline still remains to be seen
Hay Mike it's duck here QUANK! QUANK!
Can you do a video talk about *What if goku and vegeta trained together in the hyperbolic time chamber in the cell saga?*
Maybe there's a branch where Vegeta uses his brain and kills imperfect cell when he had the chance!
Love the consistency
I don't think that android 19, 20 or 16 were around in the unseen timeline. I think their existence is cells butterfly effect, not trunks. Obviously they still exist but I don't think they appear to the z fighters. Similarly to how they don't appear in trunks timeline and the original timeline. 16s existence would muddy the water a lot considering he's stronger than imperfect cell
Just thought how cool majin cell would have been. Wow.
loving the vids man, always watching whenever you post while i eat lol
I always thought cell should have stolen Trunks time machine while he killed the Androids, and instead of building a new time machine he just tells his mother he knows what's going to happen to that cell, making the circle complete
I’m gonna need a chart with arrows 😂 ,good vid
@@Breaker242it's juat his opinion let him nerd, i know you have that 1 irrelevant thing you write paragraphs about as well
You overlooked something important: Trunks and Gohan discussed the possibility of an underground lab existing even before Cell appeared. So they most likely went and searched the ruins in the unseen timeline, and that's how they deactivated the Androids. As for 16, I speculate Goku killed him with a Spirit Bomb.
Some head canon
Or he was never activated, or was just wiped out along with the rest of gero's lab
Thanks for making this one
As a Cell fan, this one confused me and it’s frustrating that I can’t keep up 😂 🤟🏽
Nothing Future farmer with the shot gun can’t handle
The original cell from the unseen timeline is the cell that we know
Nah he's from the original timeline
No, the Cell in the unseen timeline was still at the lab not yet developed, the Cell we know is from the original timeline.
@@leeuchiha5661 but goku is too strong at this point
I feel a little smart now cause I was able to follow all that
Maybe the real Unseen Timeline was the friends we made along the way...
12:54 “and he was able to in turn wipe out the cell in here ALONG WITH KRILLIN”
WHY WOULD HE KILL KRILLIN?!😂😢
Krillin knows what he did…
What are the implications of Cell just existing on the planet during or after the Saiyan saga? Does his presence create any kind of butterfly effect on the character's growth? Going by your theory of Zenkai boosts scaling based on the present threat, that could be a way to explain the massive jumps in power the Saiyan characters started taking around Z when they started sensing such a dangerous being lurking on their planet
Though by the same logic, such a thing should have been happening all along by virtue of Majin Buu being hidden on the earth...
What if the DBZ Movies Universe is the "Unseen" universe. We saw it, we just didnˊt know it at the time.
the reason why the other Trunks knew, after he revived, went back to his timeline, destroyed 17 and 18, he knows that Cell is around, Cell was in shocked! and destroyed him. THE END.
that's the reason why we need a prequel.
Yall need to watch qaamans timeline video
🤔 I think that bulma created a remote to deactivate the androids, then trunks was gonna go back and tell the z warriors in the past that he defeated the androids and cell took his time machine
then how come it was set a year before goku arrives on earth? like something must've went wrong for him to go back a year further
Maybe Goku and Vegeta decide to train with EACH other in the TIME chamber? Im pretty sure they would have ascended to SS2 waay earlier pushing each other.
I always wondered though..wouldn't this cause a time loop of infinite Cells? LOL
as I feel it goes, Cell is the first cell who goes back in time, if there is a unseen timeline that cell no longer exist cause first cell goes back to before Trunks, ending that timeline before it can change into the unseen timeline turning into future trunks line which that cell gets killed by trunks and Krillan killing main line Cell ends all Cells.
Are your timelines from quaamans video?
It's actually interesting to know theres four Cells but we only see three of them on screen,. Because all these timelines were created theres always going to be an existence of Cell in some other timeline, an endless circle of events.
They should make a movie on that or are least an episode special.
How many timelines were created when Trunks and Zamasu messed with Time in the future
Actually
Timeline 1 trunks warn z fighters about androids they defeat them by using remote control z fighters timeline 2 is saved and trunks returns to his timeline 1 and got killed by cell that also travel in past creating timeline 3 and 4,the timeline 3 where timeline 1 cell fought timeline 3 ssj2 gohan and future trunks returns to his timeline 4 and kills android instead of using remote control and also kills imperfect cell that tries to kill him like timeline 1 cell
The worst case it got erased by zeno or maybe the characters who left over are able to travel to namek
Summary:
1st timeline - Goku lands kills frost and freeza - he dies. Trunks goes back in time creating:
2nd timeline - Trunks kills frost and freeza- goku lives - cell kills trunks and goes back one year before trunks would have landed creating
3rd timeline - (Anime canon trunks' home timeline - this timeline is where he kills cell when he gets back) goes as normal- cell sleeps undeground - goku kills frost and freeza- trunks goes back in time creating:
4th timeline (this is the anime canon).
I think that's the trunk in super can you show a graph 📉 would be coo
You have the unaltered original future timeline (the original trunks dies by cell)
Unseen timeline
Main timeline
Then you have the altered future time line. This timeline is basically the same as the unaltered OG TL until trunks going back to his timeline to destroy the androids and cell with his brute strength, breaks the loop, which diverges into its own separate timeline. This is the timeline Goku black would eventually come to.
The fourth timeline is basically the one cell never went back too.becauae Gohan defeated him
But he successfully wiped out trunks
Hey @laughingstockmedia what if Goku was never sent to earth and remained part of Frieza force? Not sure if you have done that yet...would be interesting for them to meet future villains
Future Trunks' timeline doesn't make sense with the inclusion of Future Cell. I mean Future Trunks from timeline 3 (unless there are more I haven't accounted for).
Timeline 1 / Original Timeline
- Plays out just like Future Trunks says
- Goku dies to heat virus
- Other heroes die to androids
- Trunks goes back in time
- Trunks kills androids
- Cell kills Trunks and steals time machine
Timeline 2 / Unseen Timeline
- Trunks defeats Frieza and warns of androids
- Goku has medicine so survives
- Heroes defeat androids
Timeline 3 / Twin Cells Timeline
- Splits off from original timeline when future Cell arrives 4 years before androids.
- Goku dies of heart virus
- Heroes die to androids
- Future Cell awakens from cocoon shortly after androids are activated
- Future Cell absorbs androids?
- Future Cell kills Trunks? Or Trunks survives but should at least know about Future Cell.
- There is still the Cell from this timline in Gero's lab.
Timeline 4 / Main Timeline
- The Future Trunks in this timeline should've come from TL3 where there were two Cells.
And why did he wanted to return a year before his first arrival?
maybe he came from the unseen timeline
where all the z fighters died to android 16,17 and 18
16 would've killed kamicollo and goku easy
he would simply grab goku and self destruct
while cell is alive under the lab cause the only reason they knew about his location is because he snitched on himself in the main timeline
@@juliocabral6949 yeah agree man it's definitely confusing lol
I noticed this years ago. Imo this is the biggest plot hole in all of DB.
Now that I think of it the only way GT can happen is if the DBS Pilaf steals the radar...)
A black hole emerges from Toriyamas stubbed toe, evaporating the unseen timeline to the void since he can't milk it. Good ending. (Joke) sorry about this text wall.😅
Android 16 was nowhere near Semi-Perfect Cell.
