    On this episode of "You Need This Tool" I feature the Smart Eraser tool that used to remove emblems and pinstripes. Hope you dig it.
    Welcome to The Fab Forums. My name is Kyle Voss and I produce Custom Motorsports Fabrication content of all forms for you. Carbon Fiber, TIG Welding, Metal Shaping, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Custom Choppers, and everything in between. I work hard to bring you new content on a weekly basis.
    Here are some of the builds you can find on this channel.
    I have built several Chevy trucks on this channel. The first was my 1964 C10 named Crown Spoyal and the most recent C10 truck project was the 1969 I currently have named the Black Pearl.
    I am also finishing up a custom twin turbo Ford Mustang build I call the Gray Goose. It’s a 400 cubic inch Windsor style engine with twin 70mm turbos. I am hoping to make around the 1000 horse power mark to the tires on this particular build.
    Last but not least is the one off custom hot rod build called the Bibbster. This is what I call a modern day hot rod. It’s made from an old Ford Mustang foxbody, but made to look like an old school open wheeled hot rod.
    I also feature other fabricators and shops like Cutworm Specialties hand formed aluminum wide body kit for a BMW e46. Jeb Greenstone has also built a twin turbo, coyote powered model A style hot rod from scratch, and is currently building a Toyota TE72 wagon drift car powered by a 1UZ Lexus v8. Jeb’s custom fabrication skills are fun to watch and always make for good videos.
    Check out my playlist to see some or all of these builds.

    I have lost count of all those wheels I have used. They are great. I remember using them on Mustang after Mustang and lots of other vehicles. Great tool.

    Would this take spray paint off a car? If not do you have any suggestions?

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      not sure. I did a video a long time ago about removing road paint from a car. You may be able to search my channel for it

      @Troph2 @The Fab Forums Try using a little bit of lacquer thinner on a microfiber cloth. Most modern automotive finishes use a catalyzed clear coat that is insoluble (i.e., resistant to most solvents, like thinners) once it cures. The lacquer thinner should remove the spray paint, without affecting the clear coat underneath. If you have an older car or a cheap paint job with single-stage paint, that’s a different story. Of course, you should try some thinner on a spot that’s not visible (under the hood or in the trunk, for example) just to make sure. If all else fails, pick up some rubbing or polishing compound and use some elbow grease to polish off the spray paint. Thinners are obviously easier though. Good luck!

    Looks like you got really good results with that, Kyle.👍 I've only had to remove a few emblems on newer cars and used dental floss, then cleaned and waxed. For older cars with more dirt and grime accumulation over the years, what you've shown is the ticket.👊 Have a great weekend, brother.

    3M erasure wheel!
    Those cut through old decals and pinstripe like butter.
    Trick is, keep it moving and don't let it build up to much heat
    And get the drill adapter that the wheel threads into.
    It gives you a little more leverage and working room

    Great to see you back with the tool segments. I have used several different pinstripe removal wheels. ABN and 3M seem to be the best. 3M is usually more expensive. be careful with the knock offs from the sap meets and cheap tool venders, even at lower speeds the wheel material can get into your paint and powder coat finishes. Keep up the good work.

    Another great video Kyle. I would like to suggest another tool I found earlier this year you might want try out and maybe feature on a Friday. I did a stupid thing and plasti dipped my car. I couldn't get this crap off for anything. So a friend of mine suggested using these plastic razor blades. They fit on a standard scrapers that you use regular razor bladed on and they are double sided. They took this stuff off in sheets and didn't hurt the paint one bit.i got them on Amazon. If you haven't used them you really should.
    Thanks for all your videos

    I use 20lb test fishing line. You dont need to worry if it hits the paint. And you can even ride the paint side of the glue to try to get most of that off with the emblem.

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool man! Finally a tool I use often! Eraser wheel! They're are other names as well. Snap -on tools call's their tool "The Crud Thug". I'm a body guy! Woot woot! Well, I do it all. I just finished fabrication on front wheel tubs for customer car on my channel. Getting close to starting the engine build. Kyle do you build your own engines as well?? Or you just mainly fabricate? They're are many engine building tools if looking for other Specialty tools. Also I've never see an electric torch on your channel. Flameless torch. I own one myself. Everytime I use it. I amaze someone who hasn't seen it yet. They're expensive but sooo worth it! I can cherry a bolt red inside a car. No flame. Safe, and efficient. Just a thought...👍
