Welcome to The Fab Forums. My name is Kyle Voss and I produce Custom Motorsports Fabrication content of all forms for you. Carbon Fiber, TIG Welding, Metal Shaping, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Custom Choppers, and everything in between. I work hard to bring you new content on a weekly basis.
Here are some of the builds you can find on this channel.
I have built several Chevy trucks on this channel. The first was my 1964 C10 named Crown Spoyal and the most recent C10 truck project was the 1969 I currently have named the Black Pearl.
I am also finishing up a custom twin turbo Ford Mustang build I call the Gray Goose. It’s a 400 cubic inch Windsor style engine with twin 70mm turbos. I am hoping to make around the 1000 horse power mark to the tires on this particular build.
Last but not least is the one off custom hot rod build called the Bibbster. This is what I call a modern day hot rod. It’s made from an old Ford Mustang foxbody, but made to look like an old school open wheeled hot rod.
I also feature other fabricators and shops like Cutworm Specialties hand formed aluminum wide body kit for a BMW e46. Jeb Greenstone has also built a twin turbo, coyote powered model A style hot rod from scratch, and is currently building a Toyota TE72 wagon drift car powered by a 1UZ Lexus v8. Jeb’s custom fabrication skills are fun to watch and always make for good videos.

I have a 48x60x16 shop. Just got it built. Anyway instead of drywall ceilings I used white metal sheeting. Same stuff I have on the outside of the shop. Easy to put up. Never have to paint it. Reflects light like a champ. Then I put my 29 Lights in 5 zones. I love it. Lift should be coming this summer
White epoxy floors, white OSB walls coming this summer also. Kinda going for that airplane hanger look.

With good bright lighting, you may get away without using mild prescription glasses - I do, but I also have some early signs of cataracts, which also cut down on light to the retina.

Funny you are talking about led lighting.. I finely settled on vapor proof led lights from Hyperikon.
Shopping for the right led shop lights is not easy.. mine are 70w (same as a 100w regular light), 7100 lumen (is the brightness), and 5000k (is the color). They come with frosted or clear covers. Clear or frosted, it makes a big difference, I settled on clear covers.. they cost like $54 each. They work so well I can usually just use one bank of lights (6 single fixtures) and see just fine in the shop. If you want more info let me know.
They sell them on Amazon and you can get them from the company direct, sometimes a little cheaper even..

The black, magnetic, flex head harbor freight LED work light is the absolute best one out there! It’s usually 19.99 when on sale and honestly worth 3 times that. The flex head is awesome, the battery lasts for ever, and super bright , tough too! I have one and plan on buying at least a few more!

Be careful, there are also led T8 lights that are meant to be user friendly to people that don't want to re wire their fixtures to remove the ballast. (Costco sells these), so you still user the ballast. Not very efficient if you ask me, but they're easily swapped out. Bad news is, if they ballast fails, your lights won't light.
free harbor freight flashlights + cheap neodymium magnets + electrical tape. like 3 of those shining from different directions under a hood to eliminate shadows.
surprisingly enough to the Braun led light has a very impressive magnet I just used mine and it was pretty damn strong.

I don’t know how high your ceilings are but check out the lights that “Platte” electrical has. They have a 2’x2’ set up that is so bright that you can’t look at it directly. Costs about 2 bills. Takes the place of about 4 light fixtures. They have all kinds of different setups. I have 16’ ceilings and 29 office style Lights. As the ballast go out I’m replacing them with the office style led’s. I wish I would have started out with the Lights from Platte. Thanks for he forum. BTW I’m waiting to hear more about the business side of TH-cam. I got to go do work.

I redid all of my 8ft twin t12 fixtures with led, i bought the 16 foot led strip and stuck it to the fixture in two passes. For 15 bucks a fixture it is totally worth it

I bought one of those HF led lights (the one that folds) and it works but it won't hold a charge. It's dead one day later after unhooking from the charge cord. Kinda bummed about that as the instructions state "Do not keep plugged into charger" but it's always dead when I want to use it. BIG FAIL on this one.
What happened to your friend's at Eastwood's folding underhood LED light bar? I liked that thing so much I bought 2 for me and 1 for my dad. I tried to link it for you to check out but it's gone.

Hey Kyle, just a tip I got that Harbor Freight LED and it's great. I have used it a few times under dashes and run the battery down but I picked up a kit off Amazon that has spare batteries and a charger so you can always have a fresh battery to go in that light. I also have another flashlight that used a cartridge that had three AAA batteries and the LIOn batery also fits in that flashlight and it is much brighter and has a much better shelf life between charges. I'm going to pick up 2 more batteries so I will always have a fresh battery to swap in just in case (wiring under the dash is time consuming, lol
