@@thomass1891 If you pull on it really hard if you’re connected to a charger and it doesn’t have a stand it will guaranteed fall and break, the stand reduces that a lot
FOR THOSE UNAWARE: Apparently setting the PS5 vertically is harmful to the system due to the liquid metal. I’d recommend using the horizontal method Edit: I’m aware this was debunked. You do not have to tell me anymore. I’m keeping mine horizontal anyway cause it works better with my setup.

I tried for over an hour to attach the stand horizontally and there was no way that I could do it. So it's just going to have a stand up. I don't know what was wrong but I followed your suggestion instructions and it looked so simple.
I have no idea why they changed the disk drive orientation, it's been the same since the original Playstation. I kept putting in an old PS4 disk and getting an error message.... and then I realized I was putting the disk in the wrong way.

@@DedricSilva yes it does prevent it since gravity doesn't pull the disc down, when it's vertical gravity tends to not help

You can put the cap in the hole next to where the screw is hidden in the stand so you don't lose it

You can put the cap where the screw was in the bottom of the stand. There's a hole that fits the cap perfectly
