  • In the video I show
    - unboxing the Fuji GFX 50r plus some reasons why I bought it
    - specifications of the new camera
    - how to get ready for a first test shooting (lens, SD cards, etc.)
    - a walk through of the most important menu items to get started
    Here is the link to my video on the crop factor between full frame and medium format sensors, universally applicable to all sensor sizes:

    This is an excellent video. I used it to set up the GFX50R that I purchased today. Thank you for taking the time to create it. Let me add this, you may want to add the setup procedures for the Fuji Remote sync with the smartphone which is the first action requested during set up.

    Thanks for the content you produce, always very interesting!
    On a side note, I noted you haven't published any more content on the GFX50R: out of curiosity, do you still own the camera? I'd be very interested in hearing some sort of review from you, based on your experience. Thanks!!

    Thank you so much for taking the time to produce this video - I appreciate the effort these simple tasks take
    I'm off to check re a Q settings video - as I am new to Fuji & auto cameras
    Any thing you can post like this - definitely helps myself
    Cheers

    I bought my GFX50R last December and use it with the 23mm and 32-64mm lenses. I love its image quality. Subscribed to follow your adventures with the camera :-)

    Thanks for the review!! Overall how do the fuji medium format cameras fare against the phase one? I’m considering the phase one, leica or fuji medium format system for purchase

    • @mathphotographer
      @mathphotographer  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is completely different but not necessarily worse. Fuji for instance has much more functions, Phase One is a professional tool for taking THE best shot but post-processing is work intense, I spend a lot of time in post when I shoot with my IQ4.

    Hi Mathphotographer,
    Loved your review. I just received my gfx50r and 45mm gmount lens! Going to use primarily for nightscape, cityscape and landscape/architecture photography on tripod. So excited. Oh, and I collect Swiss and German luxury watches too! Kinda goes hand in hand I suppose. Looking forward to more reviews on set up.
    Going to pick up some neutral density grads from Lee for it soon. If you're ever in nyc hit me up and we'll shoot and talk cameras and watches. Singer watch and cameras shops in Manhattan!

    How would you rate the image quality between the Leica SL2 and Fujifilm GFX with comparable lenses?

      @nickfanzo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s medium format, it’s way better than a Leica full frame.

      For the same depth of field in full frame you need bigger aperture (smaller number, x0,79) compared to medium format (4 x 0,79 = about 3,2). Also with 23mm in medium format you get the field of view (degrees) of an 18mm (23x0,79) in full frame but the perspective (foreground/backround difference) is still that of 23mm. I have the 45mm lens = 35mm equivalent in full frame but the perspective is still that of a 45mm = it looks like wide "normal lens" in that sense = backround not escaping like in full frame 35mm but field of view is that of a small wide angle. Correct me if I am wrong.
