  • A long term review of the Fuji GFX 50S and Fuji GFX 50R, as well as several lenses: GF 110mm f/2, GF 32-64mm f/4, GF 63mm f/2.8, GF 45mm f/2.8, and GF 250mm f/4.
    I've been using this system for the last two years and am thrilled to finally get the chance to share some thoughts on it.

    One of the best reviews I have seen videos on the GFX System on TH-cam.I have the GFX50R and one lens ,the 32-64 mm which is an excellent Len. You did not spend all of your time comparing it to a DSLR or complaining you can’t shoot sports with it. That along was a blessing..

    It amazes me how many "reviews" are popping up about the GFX system and how few are actually based on real purchases, rather they are just a short review, not an investment opinion. I come from medium format film, 35mm film/digital, Phase One digital BUT with the announcement of the GFX100 (pre-ordered) this may be the only system I'll "ever" need. Thanks for a "real user" hands on review.

    I also have the GFX system, only the 50r at this point, but have pre-ordered the GFX100, because - so many reasons! Very mature system, very well thought out. I was fortunate to be ready for a camera "system" when the 50r was announced. I compared with the Sony A7rIII, and for the premium lenses that I wanted, there was only a 10% price difference to get into the Fuji. If it matches your style of shooting, it is spectacular quality.

    I'm about to buy a 50s. I have a limited budget. in your opinion as the only lens between 45 and 63 what do you recommend? I would like a lens with which I can do everything. for now I can't buy other lenses for a while. between the two what do you recommend? Thank you

      I'd have to say the 45mm. Honestly, all of the Fuji GF lenses are somewhere between good and amazing, but the 45 has little something extra, in my view.

    Ich besitze die GFX 50r und finde den Style und die Handhabung absolut gut, ich wünschte Fuji hätte eine 50r II mit 100 MPX und Stabilisierung gebracht, die anderen Modelle brauche ich nicht. Eine XPro 4 mit Drehschwenkmonitor und IBIS mit 33MPX würde ich gern kaufen. Alles andere brauche ich nicht.

      @@acneubauer I haven't used the Fuji-specific version, but I believe it has all features other than working only with Fuji cameras. I also assume Fuji is subsidizing that version and they'd probably want to make sure the simulations would be included.

    I have the 50r and 32-64mm i like the 110mm and want to purchace it but have been warned by several since it doesn't have ois is it hard to take sharp pictures ,they say i must have tripod is that the case? even on higer shutter speed. they say 110mm on MF is hard to thake Sharp photos when you dont have IOS ??

    • @AVeryNicePicture
      @AVeryNicePicture  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm. I haven't seen anything like that. Movement is more noticeable as resolution increases, but higher shutter speeds will address that. There's no separate factor to consider for this lens specifically that I'm aware of.

    If I give you 2mn recording free, do you accept to speak slower ?
    Fuji provides a new deal and GFX is very charming and tempting. But is it worth it to buy a MF now on, whereas many FF offer roughly 50 or even 60 MP, with lighter and an overabundant offer of lenses ? Sometimes it seams to me that GFX series comes too late.

    • @AVeryNicePicture

      Not in terms of image quality. The ergonomics of the 50S are different, the screen can tilt up when in portrait, and you can swap out the EVF. Otherwise, very similar.

    I love how Fuji makes a 10% larger sensor (yes, I know its more, but not by much) and everyone calls it revolutionary. Seriously its just more silicon real-estate. I get it, but to call it "Medium Format" I think is sort of joke. However, the 100mpx on that platter - that is amazing. Especially since the 100 and 100s came out, blown away at the iterations.
    Constructively speaking .. its just a mirrorless that grew up. I prefer the Pentax 645D or the Mamiya 22 even. Both are just boxy though and have the flippy uppy mirror stuff going on. I think the real revolution here is the mirrorless one, not the platter size .. that's second fiddle.

    • @piotr.czechowski

      It's not 10% .. by much. Do the math.

    I came acroo your channel while looking for some ...GFX stories...., yes, i found the video interesting, and the content very good indeed..so much so tht I'm not sure if I made a bad decision...about what you asked your self, well i went and bought a Fujifilm Xt3 camera, this was in July 2020, within 3 weeks the camera had stopped working ...I repackage it and sent it back to fujifilm...I say tht to say this, up to this date I've not received back the camera, no this is not fuji fault, but the potal system here in the west indies where i resides is to blame for this foolishness.....bad decision I'm not sure, i was planning to buy the gfx 50s, and a couple of lenses, would this have happen if i did, we'll never know i suppose, but i actually decided to write this comment ,base on the images that I saw during the video., i loved the clarity and cintrast that those lenses that they were taken with was producin, I'll endevour to follow the channel from now on as i liked the content as I mentioned before, so thnks once again, and happy shooting , s I continue to harass the postal service for my camera body..

    The video is reasonable but could have been much better if there were not too many mistakes that you need to correct with text on the screen. My advice is to script the videos or find another way to make sure nothing need clarification or correction on the screen.

    • @AVeryNicePicture
      @AVeryNicePicture  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the feedback. I understand your point of view. Personally, I don’t enjoy watching videos where someone is reading from a script. I approach these videos as if I’m telling a friend what I think of a camera or lens.
      The trade-off is that in longer videos, there may be more clarification in editing. I’m okay with having a few seconds of text here and there if it means I’m overall happier with the end result. I realize this is personal taste, though, and you may feel differently. Thanks again.

    • @ahmedhindawi2972
      @ahmedhindawi2972 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AVeryNicePicture Thank you for the response. But, if you think scripting the video will come across to the viewer, then you can try either preparing all the information that you need to include in the video so you eliminate making mistakes or you can redo any segments where you said something incorrect. Please feel free to ignore my advice ... I never created videos myself! But from a viewer point of view, mistakes in the videos that need correction on the screen don't make the video look professional.

      I use Capture One, so I'm not sure how Lightroom performs with the GFX files. That said, the main factor is what the capabilities are of your particular laptop. Fuji cameras come with a license for Capture One Express, so you could always try that if Lightroom doesn't work.
