- Woody browse or deer brows make up for the majority of a deers diet even during the summer, when there is a bountiful amount of greenery🌱 for deer to feed on. Red Osier Dogwood & yellow twig Dogwood make for excellent deer browse. These two dogwoods are sometimes referred to as deer candy or deer crack, because that is how sought after they are by dear. What makes them so great, not only being so sought after by the deer, is by the way that they are easily propagated without much work. This makes the ability to plant and grow them very easy and exponentially expand your winter food for your deer. In this video, I take the hardwood cuttings and the watery swampy edge of my food plot. This should help provide my dear Woody, browse on the edge of my food plot during the winter months when the greenery is eaten down to the dirt by my deer herd.

What is the best time of the year to plant these.
@@stevenfrka1342 if you’re doing cuttings, anytime after the shrub has gone dormant and the ground is not frozen . You need to be able to push cuttings into ground . So anytime before they budd out and wake up for spring
I am actually bordering my driveway with them to add colour
They work best in wet ground , and make sure they are still dormant when you stick cuttings in ground. Once they start growing and leaving in spring it’s too late . You got this !! Thanks for watching and commenting 👨🏻👍🏼👍🏼
