Well brother you helpped me. I just applied will be out of class here in few weeks and of all the companies thats came through with your videos i think it would be an awesome place to work
I’m looking at Maverick and one other company. I appreciate what you do here, it helps me know what questions to ask. I’ll be starting near the end of the year.
Nothing against Maverick but in my opinion it’s always better to get your CDL on your own, with a school that teaches in a manual transmission truck. If you’re going to do it, why not go all the way? Don’t put your eggs in one basket with a company contract and an automatic restriction. You never know what the future holds.
Thats essentially what is happening to me right now with prime over cpap i had to part failures on my cpap and couldnt use it while chasing those parts now and wound up on the non compliant list twice and because of the i got told im being let go
@@BigTrucking I didnt have many options for driving schools close to where I live. Now Im making over 4 times what I was before I got my cdl so I'm happy about that.
My dad drove with Maverick for 10 years. His handle was Woody. I’m in the process of going to school for my CDL, then going to become a driver. I’ve been looking at Maverick, but don’t wanna immediately go there. I want to go there after I get enough experience with driving.
@@BigTrucking Cause I previously tried to go to Maverick but got denied because one of my old bosses didn’t like me, and because of that one, I was turned away.
@danielabernathy6123 companies are not supposed to give bad reviews. The only thing HR should be saying is length of employment that is all. Your former boss is an idiot. Unless you're not telling the full story?
Don't kid yourself son, no one is being watched like you are...with a camera trained on you day and night...it's the Truman Show! You can be damn sure that the CEO of Maverick would never tolerate a camera mounted on his desk...watching him and recording all that he does...that is just reserved for little people like you...who have surrendered your rights to the company. lol@@BigTrucking
So im looking at mavrick tranning cdl program and my big question is how is the training pay and do you get paid while in class or only when your driving
@@BigTrucking hate to be that guy but could you share what you average gross week pay, i work for systems transport flatbed (blue slow trucks, sure youve seen us) and I gross about 1800 a week avg home sat+sun.
Maverick is awesome, but none of these companies have to be just a starter company. I started with Maverick and here I am 4 years later still loving life.
@@BigTrucking I'm looking for a company where I would like to build a relationship where eventually I can lease my own equipment to. If I can do that with a company where I started with, that's even better. I'm not a big fan of jumping from a place to place. Since you have been there for 4 years it looks like a place to start and continue your carrier. Most of mega carrier have over 100% turnover rate. I heard about drivers that went through three or four companies in their first year or two. I defenetly not look towards that. I liket to have at least two year under my belt as a company driver with the same company before I think about making any changes.
I love the tarp folding up technique. I have never seen it done that way before. Awesome videos as well. Thanks for sharing.!
Thanks and thanks for watching!
like to see a detailed video on that tarp folding technique. :-)@@BigTrucking

Awesome! That's why I do this.
I m supposed to come to maverick February 10 hopefully I watch your videos
Congratulations
Definitely need to learn that tarping trick maybe you can do a step by step on that 👌🏾✔️😊
Like how I tarp or how I fold and roll?
@BigTrucking the fold and roll lol

I hear what you're saying, but manuals are going away. Autos get better gas mileage. When we go electric there will be no shifting anyway.
Manuals are going away in few years, so you have to go back to school and get the automatic license
Paid 6k for cdl training in grand rapids MI at west Michigan cdl 6k taking my trst this Saturday 👍did yhe weekend classes 5weekends in a row
I can’t wait to get to maverick as soon as I get the rest of my 4 month contract done with the company I’m with now
👍
My local cdl school wants almost 8k I'm like screw that and go to maverick ill be there hopefully I'm a few weeks.
Damn
I paid 1600 @CFCC in Wilmington NC 16 weeks mon thru fri 530pm to 1030 pm sat 7-3 classroom
Thats essentially what is happening to me right now with prime over cpap i had to part failures on my cpap and couldnt use it while chasing those parts now and wound up on the non compliant list twice and because of the i got told im being let go
That sucks!
I paid over $8K for a 2 week cdl school at the end of 2001. I made that back plus some, over my previous pay, in the first year driving.
Sure but what if you could have done that for half the cost?
@@BigTrucking I didnt have many options for driving schools close to where I live. Now Im making over 4 times what I was before I got my cdl so I'm happy about that.
I'm a new driver got my cdl class A I would love to drive for Maverick!
Have you applied?
@@BigTrucking yes sir I have

Id love to join Maverick, just outside their recruiting zone tho.
Sorry to hear that

Why? You can get your experience with Maverick just as well as with another company

Just enjoying your work ethics. Folding your tarps & how they are secured. Question : how do you know what needs to be tarp or not. Just asking.
It's in the work order to tarp or not.
@@BigTrucking thank you.
Do not forget about liking the stream 😂
How’s the agility test at Maverick? How much do the tarps weigh?
It's not hard. Most pass
Tarps weigh about 40lbs for the small and about 100lbs for the big.
I’m going to be honest for the first time in my life I would be happier just being a steering wheel holder
How do you feel about maverick watching you with their driver facing camera and sharing all of your data from that camera with the Lytx company?
I don't care. You are being watched all the time anyway.

$700 a week after you get your cdl
I'd like to but I don't think I'm in the hiring area 🤷♂️
Where you at?
@@BigTrucking Phoenix, AZ
Would you say that trucking is your passion or you just view it as a job with good pay?
Just my job
Glad to see a driver earning his pay by rolling up the tarps.
You know it
This is Kool..
I have 4 years flatbed experience all flatbed. I'm really interested in maverick.

So maverick on a division in Canada. I’m already have my acz license in Canada . Just asking
That's a recruiter question.
@@BigTrucking yep
Do the maverick trucks have apus?
Nope.
No it's cameras in the truck that's why no one wants to come plus the pay sucks
Is maverick bigger than melton?
How big is the fleet?
Yes. We have about 1500 drivers
i like to join maverick, but i am55 years old is that too old to join ?
