    Thanks Jeremy, I was considering going to Prime before finding Maverick on one your training videos. I have been educating myself on the trucking industry as a whole. I just applied online this morning, listed you as a referral, and will be contacting recruiting directly. I have never had a CDL but I have been in the roadside assistance industry since 2003. Looking forward to a new career. Thanks for the videos and training, best by far that I have found, on youtube at least, you seem to produce very informative content and I hope to be able to train with you. Thanks again. JD

    very impressive tarp machine , any type of tarp machine are very rare here in uk ,possible because most loads like yours travel on curtain siders ,not very often you see tail trapped loads on flat beds , a lot of flat bar and rebar trapped with fly sheets , most coils go on coil trailer s with roll over sheets some odd loads are sheeted but very rare , most brick n block loads go on trailers with mesh or curtains sides but still strapped, stay safe

    I just left Maverick for tanker with prime. Maverick was good i just wish they didnt cap pay and they need to buy some lots of land for some of thier drivers to park. Other than that i just want to try something new. Id definately reccomend maverick for those wanting to do flatbed or gain expierience.

    i believe it’s time for a DOT inspection at maverick. going off duty while still doing work especially flat bed work where securing and tarping your loads require you to be ON DUTY. please do not give bad info out to drivers who may be new and still finding their way.

    • @BigTrucking
      @BigTrucking  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I belive what I said was get into the habit of going off duty when you pull your breaks whether or not you are going back on duty. I dont think i said to do work off duty. My point was that the eld will leave you on drive for an additional 5 minutes before moving you to an on duty status. Why waist those drive minutes? You can get into the habit of going off first and then moving into whatever work status you need. It's just an easy way for them to remember that they need to change the drive status on the eld.

    • @dannystranahan1004
      @dannystranahan1004 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You were very clear about going off duty not to burn your drivetime. And then you are also very clear about making sure the person goes back on duty before they do any physical work on duty, not driving..

    • @BigTrucking
      @BigTrucking  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Good question. Your 70 hour clock for the week stops when you are in off time and sleeper berth. If you have to stay out for the weekend and you don't get the chance to take a 34 hour reset, saving that 70 hour clock may help you get home the next week. Just a hood habit to have.

    This kinda mud flap Incident cost me not being hired by Walmart. That’s the only thing I have in background in 10 years of driving trucks. That happened about a year ago and Walmart said, reapply after 3 years.

      @BigTrucking  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did you get a ticket for missing a mud flap?

    • @AliSherAwan47

      @@BigTrucking
      No I didn’t get a ticket. Actually, I was hired by Walmart in 12/2023 and I was with my mentor ( they put everyone with mentor for 2 weeks to learn the WM way ) so I was backing at one of WM stores and mud flap got caught between snow and tractor tires. Well we fixed it there and got back and my mentor explained to the safety and I sign a paper, that’s it . I left WM after 3 months and now when I reapplied, everything was fine ready to join and last minute they said, oh because of that incident now you got to wait 3 years to fall it off your record. Then you can join. It’s in there record.

    • @BigTrucking
      @BigTrucking  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @mikestewart585 he would be correct. Walmart is very strict on their drivers, and any little thing like that can get you in trouble. I worked at one store in Lttle Rock that had a tree right beside where the trucks had to turn, a city tree, not even ours. One of the truck drivers came in yelling at us because the top of his truck scrapped on a branch. He said he HAD to turn it in, and he was going to get in trouble because of it. Very strict.
