    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On TH-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If it's a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Danny is an S tier golf instructor on TH-cam! I was away from golf for 15 years, so I essentially started as if I never played before. Just watching his videos I’ve already gotten to a point I was never close to when I was playing over a ten year period.

This absolutely works! I have been watching Danny's videos and am now hitting my irons 20-30 yards longer (and straighter) and I just recently hit my driver 50 yards longer than I have been. I'm almost 65 years old and I have 2 fused discs with rods and screws in my lower back. I never thought I would get my golf swing back, but after watching Danny's videos, I can hit the ball longer with less effort. Thank you Danny Maude!

Not to beat a dead horse but this lesson was an absolute epiphany to my swing. The speeds are slow but the ball continues to ROCKET of the club face and my divots are beyond the ball… every time. Cannot thank Danny enough for his excellent transfer of information. Almost instantly I’m more consistent than I was 20 years ago. I’m thinking about writing you into my will😂

We all know how elusive this game is. One day you got it and another day … 🤷🏽‍♂️. And many times we don’t understand why. I love your teaching style Danny because you highlight and expand upon things we kinda know but you put them into words and EXPLAIN things in a way that can easily be understood. I mean, it’s so easy to take something like “momentum” for granted, right? But it’s so important and you have such a gift (identifying and) reminding us.
We under appreciate so many things about golf and you bring us back into more focus … if that makes any sense. You are sooo valued and appreciated. Thank you.

After viewing this video, I went back to my golf library and I found a book and a video written and produced many years ago by "the Little Pro" Eddie Merrins, which also describes a "swinging the handle" theory! This looks good, I'll give it a go. I had 2 years of struggle, so worried about my backswing and mainly trying a 3/4 swing at most (thinking this would stop errors). Hard as I tried I couldn't get a crisp contact and was mainly stuck with no real follow thru.
Then recently I thought hey why not try a bigger backswing, and wow I realised immediately that it helped slow down everything from the top. It seemed to automatically get my downswing much smoother and easier to get some lag. I think I sort of do what you're alluding to her so will keep going with it. Massive difference.
Main struggle now is getting more weight forward for the actual ball strike... As it feels I'm just missing a final part of the swing to get ball then divot... Cheers

😮 Danny, yesterday my inconsistency of striking was frustrating. After watching this video this morning, I went back to the golf course and put this to the test. I only played 9 holes and my first few holes on approaching the green I was hitting 20 metres past the flag cause I was flushing the each shot. Therefore for the last 5 holes I adjusted the selection of iron and just wow. I hit every drive on fairway and my approach shots were close to the green. I certainly will be watching the video every day this week and can’t wait for next Saturday’s comp! Love your video’s.

Hey Danny! I have been following you for a while now and this video has really helped me loosen up and keep me from being too mechanical. It has done wonders for my irons. I can't say it has had the same effect on my driver however. Now I am just effortlessly slicing the ball off the tee Hopefully the feet together drill next time I'm on the range will help!

Your ‘waggle the hands not club head’ is one I haven’t seen before in my 50 years of reading instruction books and for the last 25 or so watching videos but it addresses something I came to realize about using mass and momentum in a golf swing. The critical path determining success or failure in a golf swing is the path of the hands relative to the body. If the club / arm unit isn’t hanging in balance at the start of the swing, which tends to pull the hands in closer to the body than they hang naturally without the club, the momentum of the swing club will pull the hands off the ideal ‘balanced’ path.
I struggled with this for many years because I’d try to copy the set up posture of the various pros whose books I worked through until I realized that because I have an extremely long torso and arms I need to tilt forward much more and someone with average leg/torso proportions or long legs / short torso to get the club to hang in balance at address and not feel the force acting on the club head trying to pull my hands out further from the body.
Once I started with the club hanging in balance it seemed to steer itself and I felt that previously elusive “swinging in a groove” feeling with every swing and when I didn’t knew the cause was not starting with the club hanging in balance do to incorrect posture / spine angle FOR MY BODY PROPORTIONS.
This relates to your drill @ 3:20 because both illustrate that it is actually the moving mass on the end of the stick that should be steering the hands not the hands trying to- usually in vain-to steer the club head mass back down to the ball on a well balanced path. It harkens back to something Arnold Palmer wrote in one of the first golf books I read about knowing the swing was going to work or not in the first 18” of the takeaway, and another quote from Jimmy Demaret who said the golf swing wasn’t difficult to master once the golfer learned to keep the club head outside the hands and stay in balance. The riddle in the last quote is that keeping the club head outside the hands starts it and keeps it on a well balance path.😊

From one Danny to another I am grateful. I think when I finally relax I get this ease of swing. When I’m tense and just getting started at range I am way too tight and cramped up. It’s after half a bucket that my body loosens up that I think this type of motion begins to happen. I’m going to have to do this next time. Love it.

So much appreciate your how you make the swing biomechanics simple and apparent. Your descriptions and demonstrations help me understand why my occasional "tour shot" often feels natural and effortless, while too many of my shots feel artificial and contorted. Hi Danny another great instruction, you make it look so easy! As a senior golfer with with arthritic knees, I therefore tend to protect the lead/Left side knee through the downswing - is there any slight tweak you could suggest that might help to achieve this momentum feeling you describe which puts less pressure on the knees?

Good one Danny. I played today before watching the your coaching and something I can add is that I find many golfers including myself are too static before setting up to hit the ball. All Pro golfers always have a couple practice swings to get the “ feel”
