Jim started Robotmarketplace and does pretty quick business selling to the Battlebots crowd, and Carlo started Ampflow and his motors and controllers are now considered the stuff to beat.. They might have lost the games, but they won at life.
So many bots had saws, hammers, spikes, drums, and spinners. Biohazard won four titles with a low profile and a lifting arm. Carlo is a brilliant engineer.
I always liked Nightmare. Its blade was powerful and could really dish out some serious damage, but its speed and maneuverability was absolutely terrible. This was why Backlash was so much better. Backlash was quick and nimble, and could quickly dissect its opponents. Nightmare on the other hand had a good design, but was just too damn slow.
I mean nightmare didn’t have horrible mobility, it always was able to turn and face its opponents, it’s strategy was to let the opponents approach it so it does more concentrated damage
I'm not too sure about that. I said "Not TOO sure" because I do have some agreements with that statement. Think about it, a legendary veteran vs an overconfident rookie.
bio hazard is one of the most well known and dominant heavy weights in battlebots. son of whyatchi just happened to have what it took to beat bio hazard. there were 5 seasons and bio hazard won three of them. that shows how deadly he was.
Thanks to killsaws cutting the cabling for Razer's self-righting wings. In the Robot Wars arena, it could've been different. In a rematch, I think the Razer boys would've learned from the loss, and that shoveled front they added for Series 5 would've made it more difficult for Tazbot to get under, and Razer would've had a better chance at crushing 'em. Of course, it's all speculation as they never really skirmished again (aside from those rumbles). And yeah, Tazbot did beat Razer fairly.

I know it's basiscly impossible to prodict the outcome of any battle. But I'm sure Biohazard will flip typhoon. Also I don't think razer can do any damage against biohazards armor.

And such a simplistic design too. It's kinda funny that bots like nightmare with their huge blades are bested by what's basically just a trapezoid with a retractable arm. It's even funnier that Biohazard is also smaller than most other bots.
I don't know why they cancelled Robot Wars, but I know something about battlebots. Firstly, they suddenly changed the air time on Batllebots S5 losing a hell lot of audience. Battlebots were sometimes very expensive to make (some ranging over 2k,) so it wan't too easy to maintain a continuous flow of new entries for the show. As a trend, as soon it started to die down the remaining had to quit because of the interrupted flow. There are still smaller events...

Most of Nightmare's wins were one or two hit KOs. There's also Backlash, which showed regular success in the lightweight class, 259 and S3 from Robot Wars, and several others.
Robogames, basically the robotics equivalent of the Olympics, with many different events and many different teams competing. The events aren't televised, though you can find a lot of matches on TH-cam as a few teams have their own channels.
I remember reading on Nightmare's website that he had a spare motor he wanted to switch to, I think. Considering how Nightmare did some damage to Biohazard's lifting arm, one can only imagine if this fight would have ended differently.
IMO, Hypnodisc would've been able to trounce Nightmare easily, given its exposed wheels and bad record against horizontal spinners. Razer, I'm not sure, given Nightmare's shape and how tricky it might be to get a grip on it. Biohazard always has a tough time against spinners so it could go either way against Hypno-Disc. Biohazard's excellent design, engineering and the fact it's so well controlled will give it the edge.
I don't care what anyone says, I think Nightmare did extremely well in that fight considering the circumstances. He did all he could do once his blade was taken out of commission, and then actually manuvered his way out of a lot of sticky situations. He didn't win the match, but I say he got huge respect from me for keeping himself alive for the entire match. Also please stop complaining or comparing Robot Wars to BattleBots. They are two different shows, run different ways. I prefer battlebots

Or if one of the BattleBox hazards comes up underneath him. Being low to the ground may help you avoid having a lifter get under you, but if anything it's going to make matters worse when something comes up from the floor.

T-Minus vs Chaos 2 would be interesting, though.

True. It happens. I admittedly have a dislike of France. Still, combat robots evolved differently in different nations to the point of almost being unrecognizable in some cases. As I said before lifters rule the UK while Spinners dominate the US. Japan's version of the sport is fought with hobby humanoids. In South America everyone builds wedges and rely on pushing power and strategy alone, like a fast-paced version of Robot Sumo but in a walled arena. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

It's ironic really that both Biohazard & Razer did compete in the same Battlebots Heavyweight rumbles together back in 1999, yet had no real altercations. A great shame.

That because it's not a blade or a saw. It's a "rotary bludgeoning device." With to 'sledgehammers' on a spinning disk. It's not a blade unless it's a saw or a lawnmower blade.
It boils down to this: You guys can't handle spinners very well (Typhoon and Hypno-Disc pretty much proved it, although Bigger Brother and 101 are exceptions against the latter), while we in the US have a harder time against lifters (as both Vlad the Impaler and our own "delivery trolley base" proves multiple times, among other machines). It ultimately boils down to whether lifters can OOTA or not.
I mean vlad was retired by mechavore, SOW KOd biohazard, megabyte tore biohazard up and brutality retired biohazard by ripping an entire corner out of the frame
actually it's one of the most efficient designs...the spinning teeth act as a way to tear into a robots armor and hit them upwards. Watch the Las Vegas 99 video on my page and see how nightmare does to Namreko 3000. Plus check Nightmare's lil bro - Backlash. Season 1 LW champ. Nightmare could be more balanced and invertable (this was fixed on later revisions of backlash) and it's VERY good.

It would be insane if Biohazard returns in World Championship 8 of Battlebots. He could beat the sh*t out out everyone, including tombstone, endgame, riptide, and maybe if he returns and possibly, bite force.
This was Murphy's Law as a fight, wasn't it? Nightmare's blade dies, then Biohazard's arm gets stuck. At least Biohazard's control and the hazards kept things interesting.

I would have been a good match, they both don't got much on each other. Perhaps the arena could make the difference ( the pit!). T-minus vs chaos would be awesome, but perhaps a little bit of weight problem. T minus is about 30 kg lighter. But he runs out of gass to easy and afther 2/3 of the CO2 is gone.
everytime i watch one of these and one of the robots has a spinning saw it always ends up breaking and then theyre weaponless. personally i would go with a clamp weapon of some kind that one you could use the hazards to your advantage so much easier
actually nightmare's teeth are very low to the ground. its just that the first ime biohazard outdrove nightmare and pinned him under the pulveriser. this was bad cuz nightmare weapon motor wass suffering from fatigue and jm made a dumb decision not to swap the motor and it burned out

Robot wars was cancelled due to moving to Channel 5 and it did very badly, so they cancelled robot wars after series 7 for that reason

I don’t think so, hypnodisk had a slow moving disk and shitty teeth, and horrible driving, nightmare however has a deadly bite, and damn good driving

Guys! Ziggo is a small 25 kilo lightweight bot, you can't compare that to 100 kg machines like razer and hypnodisc.

It was the best heavyweight in its time. It's outdated and retired now - Sewer Snake, Original Sin and Last Rites are the current top heavyweights.

I would have been a good match, they both don't got much on each other. Perhaps the arena could make the difference ( the pit!). T-minus vs chaos would be awesome, but perhaps a little bit of weight problem. T minus is about 30 kg lighter. But he runs out of gass to easy and afther 2/3 of the CO2 is gone.

everytime i watch one of these and one of the robots has a spinning saw it always ends up breaking and then theyre weaponless. personally i would go with a clamp weapon of some kind that one you could use the hazards to your advantage so much easier
can't wait to see the new Nightmare with the titanium spinner! I hope it's much better and stable :p

actually nightmare's teeth are very low to the ground. its just that the first ime biohazard outdrove nightmare and pinned him under the pulveriser. this was bad cuz nightmare weapon motor wass suffering from fatigue and jm made a dumb decision not to swap the motor and it burned out
@Slayr231 ah i supose but thats why i loved robot wars the bigger brother hypno disc fight was my fav evr after diotior tornado cause they were upsets involving a bot turning a match on its head. the downside to the pit is that bots like philipa 2 can get to a European final....
The problem with this design is that it may cause damage to some bots and none at all to others.
why was this show cancled
