Sunless Effects The Winter is a classic overdrive pedal that has been carefully voiced to get the best tones possible from you guitar.
Perfect for low tuned guitars, use it on its own or as a boost on your high gain amplifier to add that grit and clarity that was missing from it.
The tight knob allows you to shape your tone to different genre, all the way to the left, you will get those bone crushing sludgy tones, all the way to the right, the surgically precise tight tones for a real chug fest.
The Winter also works very well on a clean channel, use it to spice up your clean tones, add more compression and sparkle.
You're not into low tuning and you're afraid that this pedal isn't for you?
Fear not, while it was primarly designed to get the best from low tuned guitars, The Winter is versatile enough to cover plenty of other genres, this pedal has attracted very diverse players.
This new version of The Winter has more gain, lower noise and a slightly different voicing.
    The controls:
Tight - Controls the amount of low frequencies before the clipping section.
Gain - Controls the amount of gain.
Volume - Controls the output volume.
    Tone - High frequencies boost/cut.
Switch - Allows you to set the tight knob's low cut at either 62hz or 250hz.
The Winter is hand wired and build with carefully selected components.
    True Bypass.
    9vDC to 18vDC operation.

Seems very reminiscent to the airis effects savage drive v3/v4

Huge difference here with this one. Besides I’m not a big fan of Airis Effects. Nice stuff though. This thing crushes all day with my Dual Rectifier! Thanks for watching 🤘

I had a Savage Drive V2 in 2015-2016, but I don't know the circuit enough to tell you what the differences are.
It would be interesting to compare the two I guess, although it would probably not make sense anymore since Airis Effects decided to have a 4 band eq on his savage drive.

You need a fancy metal intro song and you need to be in the video acting all goofy with some cool fancy letters and then I think that your subscribers will go up hahaha.

Nice, how does it compare to the Precision Drive?

    • @AngryTonesRiffClips
      @AngryTonesRiffClips  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Not sure I’ve never been a fan of the Precision Drive, it’s to ice picky on the highs. I know this Winter OD it’s crushing and sounds incredible but it doesn’t have a noise gate like the PD.

@@AngryTonesRiffClips Yea, pedal def sounds more brutal than the PD ever could, figured it might be similar to it because of the tight knob. Just pulled the trigger on the Winter

That’s what I said he swears it’s different because of the frequency range and it does sound good but come on. There’s only so many ways you can skin a cat that’s like the new thing a tight knob.

@@AngryTonesRiffClips I know they are but if you’re going to play metal I think you should at least dedicate a couple minutes to those tuning‘s so guys can see what it sounds like in that realm it’s still pretty common that metal guys play in those tunings.
