    I like how you simply put it "More Metal".

    You know what sounds good ?
    Your music. That's why i keep coming back. I'm pretty sure you can make a vox pathfinder sound just as good as that PRS.

    This OD is spice on top of a good dish. It gives that extra kick without killing the taste.

    I come to watch gear demos but enjoy your playing and riffage the most. That JCM clip is such a good vibes rocker party tune. And the driven cleans demo is so haunting and deep. Your compositions are pure genius.
    This pedal reminds me a bit of the Fortin Tempest. Would be cool to see a side by side shootout with the Winter.
    Excellent as always! Keep up the great jams :)

    The way you have demonstrated this thing here, awesome. It really wasn't hard to imagine both tones of any of these riffs in the same song. Either as half of a stereo track or to change the flavor of the riff of a single guitar.

    Since you have acquired so many cool boost pedals, maybe it’s time for another comparison? 😎

      Yes... I see a ton of demos on this pedal, but I can't halp but think that there are many paths to this sound.

    Thx for the demo. Great tone with the Wangs HD-15. Have you ever tried the GUP Tech pedals (canadian brand)? I recently bought their Mad Chiou (half TC integrated preamp, half 3-band + HPF boost); I do love this versatile pedal with my Fryette Deliverance and Mesa Rectifier.

    In my ears the pedal along with the Wangs at 8:35 sounded killer to me. But that’s just me. In the mix it definitely cut through well……

    to me, it sounds like a neutral/flat tone, like you said, with nice tools to shape your amp/guitar tone that you'd leave on all the time. especially for driven tones. cutting/boosting top and bottom mostly. for me, i like a flat transparent clean boost option pedal as i'm happy with my tone, but option to boost mids for cut in solo's, MI audio boost and buff works great for me. so what i'm getting at, is i'd get great use out of both pedals on my board for two different purposes. sorry, little long winded.

      John, great riffs and tones. did the pedal excellent review. recon it would do my single rec a big upgrade in tone.

    • @sunlesseffects
      @sunlesseffects 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do both I think, I have demos of people who use it with less transparent settings.

    You should try a Fender Full Moon distorion, sounds like a really cool fuzz if you turn the gain all the way down. Might be strange but was pleasantly surprised when I found that out.

    I don’t know, man. The focus of your playing style even made the plain Rectifier signal sound tight, with the boost giving it more of that higher frequency fire.

      Thanks! To be honest, I just open my mind and let any musical idea flow out. I try to not overthink it and go where the music takes me. I found it's easier when you don't judge your ideas and just let them manifest themselves, almost as if you're not doing it yourself. I hope it makes sense hahahaha! It's obviously a passion. Creating music from scratch is the most important thing to me when it comes to being a musician. Hope this helps :)

    would it make sense to pair it to a fuzz pedal for some crushing tone?

    So what the boost is for you Sonic?Do you boos it to make it sound better or to help right hand in articulation and the edge of sound?

    • @SonicDriveStudio
      @SonicDriveStudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It can do whatever you want basically. I like to use it to boost the gain and tighten it up

      @@SonicDriveStudio gotchya, will do.. really appreciate your demo and comparison videos, really enjoy them! In regards of Engl amps, I know your fav is the Fireball, have you compared it to Savage 120? I went the Fractal FM route(since I can't afford all those awesome amps lol) and have both of those amp models and for right now seems like I'm getting a tone I like better thru the Savage 120.. of all matter of personal taste of course, but was wondering your thoughts on the two amps and maybe do a comparison vid on them! Thanks!

    I'm not sure if I'm being old man shouting at the sky, but what i think is missing from modern tone is cone cry. You take a jcm800 with greenbacks and push them with boosts. No amount of digital stuff/ir can seem to represent that. Are people just not into it anymore, like sag? Edited to add, ears hate this

    • @SonicDriveStudio

      IR vs real cab comparison coming Tuesday. It might surprise you!

  • @JROD5150

    1st off.....no mesa amps sound "muddy". You "supposed" gear analysts think you've envented tone. Sure, you can change sounds and make them more to your liking, but calm down a bit. I would venture to guess the Mesa investors are living in big homes on CA. Their amps sound perect out of the box.

    • @sunlesseffects
      @sunlesseffects 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do agree with you to some extents, I truly believe all gear sound good until you try to make them do something they're not supposed to do, after that, something to shape the tone can trully help your gear achieve anything.
      So the Dual Rectifier, while being very good on its own (as shown by Jon in many demos), it can do so much more with a boost/tone shaper in front :)
      In the end, it doesn't mean the gear is bad, because every piece of gear has its limitations.
