    “How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
    Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
    Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
    Welcome to the Young Nails family!

    Thank you so much for this video! I'm not a nail tech. I do my own nails at home and so does my daughter. We've had so many poor experiences at Salons. I like gel nails she likes dip. I wondered if the two could be combined, googled it, and this video came up in my search. This changed our nail time commitment so much!

      I am 42 , starting beauty school on February 18th. Unfortunately you have to go through all the different types of classes. I want to be a licensed nail technician, but there is no place around me that just offers that. Happy to see that I'm not the only one over 40 who is starting their career over. Good luck to you! I hope you succeed!

I watch other nail techs, but these are my three go to. Young nails education on how to do everything nail. Suzie for designs and product. Nail hub for in detail history and step by step instructions.

    I did dip french manicure on myself the other day. It's so easy to get a decent smile line! I think the main reason people are reluctant with e files is that they have either been hurt by an unskilled user or know someone who has. Even as an amateur, I learned how to use one, much prefer it to soaking for ages in acetone! Very pretty set!

  • @danapeppi
    @danapeppi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I tried this technique with ultimate finish gel and I am in awe. It is so easy and forgiving and results are perfect. The sidewalls and cuticle area turn out clean and neat. The ease of brush on gel with the strength of hard gel, yet there is no need for skilled gel or acrylic application. It files off so easy, one can probably do it without electric file. The brightness of the dip powder colours, yet there is no headache of dealing with resin system. And one can use ordinary nail polish or mission control paints for added nail art. It is truly revolutionary.
    You should market caption conversion as a kit with a few colours of powder, top, and some nail art supplies, especially for home based nail enthusiasts who want beautiful results but do not need extended length.

    • @apolishedtouchnailstudio
      @apolishedtouchnailstudio 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Finish gel instead of conversion gel as base?

    • @danapeppi
      @danapeppi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@apolishedtouchnailstudio finish gel as a finish gel, sorry that my comment was not clear. I am doing mostly my own nails, so I can’t justify investing into many colors so I appreciate when I can use all my products creatively. Few days ago, I tried mixing dip powder with flex gel and applying with a brush. The mixture becomes thicker, very easy to work with, I applied in 2 thinner coats instead 1 thick one.

    I have a question about conversion as I have not seen a video explaining it. You use conversion base, cure, then caption polish. Do you have to wait for the polish to dry completely before using the conversion top and final cure? I may have missed a video on this. FYI, this method works with any slightly thicker base gel polish, but not so well with thin base gel polish. You can also use slick pour or any of your acrylic powders, it's awesome!!

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    But most of my lady's prefer the clear Slickpour -Under the Radar- with a gelpolish.
    Its easy for me to because i dont have to file the colour all the way when they come in 3 weaks for a redesign.
    Thanks for sharing!!

    And what is nice when you have a freshman/woman 😜 in, they can train really well the base, filing. And try to learn them to sell extra's like enhancement's, the bling what is really easy money but most clients love so much nowadays 👌😎
    Plus teaching them not to feel insecure and encourage them to get creative if the client likes that but be conservative creative before the client feels not in control anymore (to a certain amount i mean, they obviously decide how much bling they want)
    So yes, it is a really nice service to offer but.. I also see lot's and lot's of people that buy it themselves as a DIY kit plus years back it also was a thing, also a at home product.
    I hope people want it more as a service, would be a very nice addition..
    Edit: lol! I react always during a video before I forget what I wanted to say but I mention here about try learning your, litteraly.. young one's 😁😉 in your salon to sell
    (I really need to learn to remember what to say AFTER the video's, lol! 👀😊
    And.. last edit.. hopefully 😂😶 but I LOVE the shot where we see the whole scenery of the work station overview! Please do it more often as a change! Like it! 👍

    That was definitely fast. But she "walked" in with perfectly shaped and clean nails. The service changes a little when they need shaping and maybe a little more cuticle work right? Or is that where the extra 9 min go towards.

      nice. protien bond is great for most enhancements. in this case we used caption conversion with our slick pour system, however most traditional dip systems come with their own prep step.

    Hey I'm not a tech or anything but in my opinion from the client's perspective rushing through my appointment seems to me as you dont respect me as a respectable client just because my enhancement or request is not as detailed and time consuming as per say an extremely long acrylic enhancement that may cost $200 or something like that. Does that make sense? Every client should feel and treated the same as the next. I do have to say though your timing is amazing and if your clients know your rushing through their application to continue to get more into your day.. hey I'd there ok with it why not?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally makes sense and understand where you are coming from. We always say there should be zero distractions when with a client they should be your sole priority at that time. However that being the case nothing says you can't acheive quality work in a timely manor. We would never encourage someone to compromise quality for speed. Also a lot of clients really enjoy that they can receive the same quality nails in such a short time frame like on lunch or after work, everyone's in a hurry these days ya know! There is definitely a tech for everyone though.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      there has been information put out from different sources in the past that have suggested the exposure to the UV rays may cause cancer. The amount of exposure that you get from the lamp is less than the amount of exposure you get walking from your car to the salon door lol

      It could be considered a hybrid since it is using acrylic powder with gel. With that said, usually when people refer to hybrid nails, they are talking about acrylic and hard gel.

    I’ve had a lot of clients ask for “dip nails.” The problem that keeps coming up is, how do you make it sanitary?
    Either you have clients pore into the same container... gross. Or you waste a ton of product after because you throw out whatever touches the client. How do you solve this and make it sanitary? I’d love to offer this service!

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you use slick pour of course! That is exactly why slick pour is poured on rather than dipped. Also includes separate dishes to use the exact amount for each client as well as catch cups for the over flow to be used on that same client
