Those neons are very opaque. I might need to pick them up! The yellow neons I have are never as opaque as I would hope. Yellows much be hard because every yellow I have isn’t as opaque and vibrant as you’d expect. I’ve heard people say added a full dip of white underneath helps. But I definitely want neons that don’t require more work!
Gorgeous. I've actually tried a baby boomer type design using my dip powder over builder gel. I get severe dip flu so it was a way of using my stash of powders. Got some good feedback from the girls at work so not mad at it. Great tutorial. ❤️
Just found your channel and it’s been so helpful! Just clarifying- on the ombre nails, are you only flash curing the first foundation coat? Or are you flash curing in between each layer of foundation & stippling?
I do the gel method because of dip flu. I don’t do the pour over method, I use pipettes! They are awesome unless you have a glitter dip, then I do lay my nail in them, but as I pat down i smooth out any craziness.😂 I love the idea of the “Pat the powder” on! I have done the tap method!
I messed up my first mani well I didn't mess it up I just didn't use the liquids to them. I used gel base instead and it came out great was a much longer process though. I didn't have peel base lol so it's gonna take forever to take these off lol. Thanks for the video I'm def gonna have to try this way! Love it
I have a question about the steps. For the solid nails, are you curing after each layer? Ie. apply base, pour over powder, cure, and repeat several times?
So cute! Lobe that method! Gonna have to give that a try. Would love to see it with baby boomer colors. Yes! Getting a slight candy corn cobs there. Have you finally come to the candy corn side? 🤣
Yes!! I like to do a pour over first. Gently press the glitter into the gel, cure, then pour over again, cure, then base and I’ll hand place some chunky pieces. Cure, base, cure, top, cure, file/shape, top.
Just making sure I got this ….after you do three coats of pour over dip powder you cure and then you brush off the dust then base coat cure then topcoat cure?😊
Question. can you do a video of Amazon products you would highly recommend for beginners for dipping? like what kind of dip powder you recommend, e file, etc. but all coming from Amazon only. Please, please! thank you so much! ❤
Perfect for Summer! *chefs kiss* Just to clarify, did you cap in base and top before filing? Or just base? Also, all I could think when doing the ombre was, Pat Pat Pat! 😆... The Patty Ombre! Lol
Yes yes baby boomer please!!!
I can't do ombre with dip powder so I'm excited about the gel method
I will have to try this method! Excited to see the baby boomer colors too 😍
When you try it, let me know how it worked for you!!
I'm gonna have to try that ombre..love that method ...looks so easy! (I took notes)
I learn such good techniques from you!!
Report back when you do!
@@MarlaKris I will..my next Mani I will definitely try!!
@@MarlaKris I tried this method and LOVE IT!! So easy to do!!
@@robyncowper4347 yay!! I knew you’d love it! Thanks so much for reporting back!! ♥️
EeeGad! I’m so excited about the gel baby boomer video!! Can’t wait! Love the this dab, tap, whatever ombré technique! Thank you!
I think you should call this the “pat-press”! Gorgeous mani xx
Wow!! This is genius!!! Thanks Marla!!
Beautiful job. I’ve tried brush, dip, and pour methods and still not happy. Can’t wait to try your methods.
I think you’ll really like this method!
Does this ombre application method work with glitter and/or foil powders, too?

I was super impressed with these dips. I’m all about less is more! If I have to add white under, I’m kinda out!

There ya go! Great idea!!
You girl are a friggin genius!! I can't wait to try this. You nailed it!!
🥰 When you try it, report back!! I wanna know how it works for you!
@@MarlaKris I will.
Brilliant ombré girl!!!!! 💕
Very cool technique! I think this would be good for a subtle ombre. I'll definitely give it a try!
I love their powders. They don’t get enough love I don’t think. Thanks for doing this.
I agree 100%

Happy Monday Marla. I just did bright yellow yesterday on my shorties. I can’t wait until my nails grow back .
Marla: "you can't screw this up. you really can't"
Me: "hold my beer"
My thought process too, lol
😂🤣 I’m telling you!! You gotta try this.
@@MarlaKris I'm def gonna give it a try and also give the peel base a second shot.
😂
So pretty. I'm loving the highlighter yellow. Thank you Much 💜
I'm going to try this tomorrow, with the black and red....

Ooh grab you some peel base. Life changing with gel base!
i love these colors together!!!
Love your nail videos!
I may have zoned out lol are you filing over base gel or top coat ?
The ombré nail reminds me of Tequila Sunrise. Cheers!
Easier, less filing.. PERFECT! I LOVE THE colors!!! Did you flash cure the base for the solid color as well?🥰
Right?! No ma’am - for the solid color I didn’t flash cure. Just poured over and cured after
I love this easy ombre, thanks for your awesome videos love the mani. 🧡💛
I love igels full coverage tips, that's all I use! ❤
Love those colors!
Sometimes I feel like I’m never gonna get the hang of the dang ombré, I’ll give this a go!
Definitely do! And lmk how you like it!
I feel the same, my poor over never comes out even too.
Same! I took off my whole mani bc I thought it looked horrible 😐
That's definitely a gel stipple ombre....sounds good to me. 🤷♀️ Lol Love those neons!
There’s definitely stippling going on!
So pretty as always
Thank you! ♥️
Love your videos . Do you have a video on how to remove dip powder ?
Thank you so much! I sure do! th-cam.com/video/fgj4YQwoOEs/w-d-xo.html
Ooh...I'm going to try this the next time I do my nails.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Such a fun mani!!
Love watching your videos and love this set tysmfs 🧡💛
Why do you encapsulate with both base and top coat? Why not 2 base? I can see that 1 layer may be too thin.
Is there a way to do a French mani with gel base?
Yep! You can do it the same way as if you were using resin base. Or you can color block it. Maybe I need to do a video on this too??
@@MarlaKris That would be fantastic! I’d love to see both ways with gel base.
Thanks so much!!!! Very helpful!
I have a question about the steps. For the solid nails, are you curing after each layer? Ie. apply base, pour over powder, cure, and repeat several times?
Yep! You’ll wanna cure after each coat for a minimum of 30 sec 💜
Great idea!! Thanks for sharing!
So cute! Lobe that method! Gonna have to give that a try. Would love to see it with baby boomer colors. Yes!
Getting a slight candy corn cobs there. Have you finally come to the candy corn side? 🤣
Shhhhhh 🤫 we’re not talking about the candy corn feels that I noticed when I took the photos.. we’re ignoring them.
@@MarlaKris Oh sorry. I won’t tell anyone. Sshhhh…
Did you do base coat and then top coat? Or 2 layers of top coat?
Base and then a top. The base holds the top in place and keeps it from peeling 💙
Definitely going to try this maybe I can get off that struggle bus I been riding 😂
Report back and let me know how it works for you!
Have you done the gel method with chunky glitter dip powders?
Mostly lol you wanna do a full cure on each layer. So pour, cure, dust, repeat. Then base, cure, top, cure, file/shape, top, cure.
I need to get that peach colored dip because it only makes sense to buy a dip that is your name 🥰
Question. can you do a video of Amazon products you would highly recommend for beginners for dipping? like what kind of dip powder you recommend, e file, etc. but all coming from Amazon only. Please, please! thank you so much! ❤
I can definitely do that for you! ((Adds to list))
@@MarlaKris Wow! Thank you! 😍😍😍
Totally amazing!!!
Can't see a thing......this video wont play properly............lots of people have mentioned on facebook that they have same trouble
ITS FINALLY MONDAY !!! 🙌
😂🤣 finally!!!! 🥰
Looks like sherbet to me great job
I have noticed after buffing my gel top coat peels. What do you suggest to do prior to applying top coat to prevent this?
You could use primer or gel base (or both) under your gel top. That should prevent peeling.
@@MarlaKris Thank you!
Perfect for Summer! *chefs kiss*
Just to clarify, did you cap in base and top before filing? Or just base?
Also, all I could think when doing the ombre was, Pat Pat Pat! 😆... The Patty Ombre! Lol
Yep - capped in base and top. Then filed. 😂🤣 patty ombré 🤣😂
I can’t get the video to load ☹️
What brush you use?
It’s a cheap eye shadow brush by wet and wild! $1 on amazon!
wait a hot minute!!! what sorcery is this??? you got a whole week out of your peel base??? i didn't even get a full 24 hours with my shorties lol
All depends on nail chemistry, unfortunately. I find they hold better on my also when I use gel as opposed to resin.
Smoosh ombre maybe?
Marla Kris "bounce" method!
It’s like stippling using stencils.
Gonna go give this the ole college try.
Yes!!! Please report back!!
What happened to this video?! It’s not playing for me it tells me something is wrong tap to retry and then NOTHING 😖
I wish i had your cuticle lines(:
You can!! Practice practice.
I so want to see this video and I’m unable 😔
YT is being weird.. you should be able to view it from the link: th-cam.com/video/zYqC8C4bi4s/w-d-xo.html
Reminds me of sorbets 😁
Right?!
I'm calling it the "dab" method ombre
Maybe this could be a blot method....
Blot would be accurate!
I'm so early! Whoop! Whoop!
Hey early bird!
"dabbing"?
Why can’t I view this video!!
You say this can't be messed up??... I promise you I'll make polygel with this ombre! I'll make a super sticky mess if left to my own devices!
😂🤣😂 impossible!!
@@MarlaKris it would be an azure mess all over again!
