People sometimes forget that Zidane also had his weak seasons and weak periods. Not all of his seasons were Euro 2000 level
he's right about consistency though. Zidane was more beloved for what he could do than how often he would do it. He always delivered in the big games which everyone saw but over the course of a full season he could sometimes have spells where he wasn't as motivated. Like for an all time number 10 his goals and assists are pretty low, mostly because he was less motivated against the smaller teams and the less important games.

Felt so honored as a Lampard fan. When you already have Kaka, Modric and Pirlo in midfield it makes sense to have someone like Frank to bring different capacity to the midfield
Chelsea doesn't have nearly as many fans as Man Utd or Liverpool which is why many say Scholes and Gerrard are better but I really disagree, Lampard may be technically the worst out of the 3 but he's obviously the most intelligent, still has more assists than Slippy G as well and obviously more goals, and what people don't know Lampard lost the ball possession less than Slippy G did, this is fact

Unparalleled box crasher, could score from distance, goal scoring record like a top striker, but also a box to box midfielder capable of picking out a pass or doing the running on defence. Tremendous engine.

I like how there was no debate about Pirlo. The GOAT of deep-lying playmaking, he’s the reason it’s popular and defined now. Nobody, I mean nobody sees the pitch better than him. His ability to transition from defence to attack with just one pass is second to none. He can do it all, long and short. You can imagine the tactical flexibility he offers a coach in attack and transition play. And don’t forget, a deadball specialist, free-kicks and corners. Man, I wish there a player like him today.
