    Dave- Great video. My son and I swapped out these lights on his 2015 RAM 2500. These new LEDs puddle lights are so bright they actually serve their purpose. I wouldn't have attempted it w/o this video. Thank you.

    Wonderful video explanation! Dealer wanted $160 to replace both puddle lights. I bought both lights at Amazon, as you recommended, for $48.72 and installed both lights in LESS THAN 3MINUTES. Yes, less than 3 minutes for both. Thanks so much!

    The tow mirrors that come with that updated version are about impossible to remove the puddle light without damaging the assembly because there is no gap to insert a pry tool.

    I bought a pair for my '17 Ram and absolutely love them. Unfortunately, the plastic retainer clip on the driver's side snapped off and left the light dangling by the wires. So I contacted Morimoto and sent photos. Their response? Maybe we can help you out on a future order. Can you believe that? These lights are probably a dime a dozen from China (though they cost a premium) and they didn't even offer to replace one broken light. I always thought Morimoto was way up there. Well, I can add this business to my "No More" list. Too bad.

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will need to sway yours out for a set that has the puddle lights already on them and then you will need to have the dealer change/add the related sales codes and then have then download it to the vehicle so that the systems then know what was added so that it will work correctly. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe!

    Hello Dave my question isn't with the lights it's with the mirror adjustment I have a 2013 if I flip it up as trailer mirror the adjustment doesn't work in junction with being up it's a quarter off I can work it this way but is this normal the reason I'm asking is I had a 03 that work in junction with the switch never a quarter off

  • @moishemgrinberg
    @moishemgrinberg 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    hi very nice video. i was wondering how to take apart the mirror for a regular mirror not a tow? i have a 2017 ram 1500 sport. Also I was wondering if you can help me. Since I have a sport model it comes with sensors on the front bumper and i would like to put on a nudge bar but i'm told that for the sport model you cannot put one on because of the sensors but i have a question what if i install the 2 center sensors on the nudge bar will that work?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do have some stock none towing mirrors that I could film. Just need to work it in sometime when I have a chance. When it comes to those sensors....you need to move the sensors as far forward as possible or it will pick up the nudge bar as being infront of the vehicle and give you that warning.

    Hey how are you? I have a question. On my 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie drivers side,side mirror the blinker light is out and the puddle light. Do you think it’s a fuse or is it that both just need to be replaced?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no fuse that I know of. Its hard to say for sure if they both are bad...its going to take some checking first. Odd that they are both out at the same time or maybe they went out a different times but you just noticed. You can easily remove both puddle lights on the left and right side and plug the side thats working into the side thats not to help rule it out. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In order to get them to work properly....you will need to have the dealer update the sales codes/options online and have them download it back to the vehicle so that it starts working correctly. Basically the vehicle needs to know what it has and this is the method to do that. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe

  • @flash1034
    @flash1034 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi again Dave. Hope you are well. Recently I noticed my right projector headlight assembly was getting condensation inside the lens. When I removed the headlight housing there was actually water sloshing around inside the headlight housing. I poured the water out, dried the inside with a hair dryer, and reinstalled it. Now I get a “right turn signal out” warning in my evic even though all the lights apppear to be functioning properly. I also get a hyperflash turn signal light on my dash but the turn signal itself flashes at normal speed. Any ideas?
    Thanks

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing is coming to mind at the moment. When you get water inside you typically need to replace the assembly. One thing you can do is drill a small hole in the lowest part of the housing. It doesnt stop the moisture from getting inside but it gives it a place to go and not accumulate.

    I can't get a straight answer out on anybody I'm trying to upgrade to tow mirrors on my 2014 Ram Express heated manual mirrors. Like to upgrade to tow mirrors heated manual with a blinker I don't need a floodlight I think that's stupid. How do I go about making this happen. Thanks

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Swapping wont be an issue. Being that they are both manual......I dont think you need to update the sales codes inorder to get the turnsignals to work. I havent tried this myself so I am not 100% sure. If the sales codes do need to be updated....then the dealer will need to do that. Updating the sales codes tells the vehicle what new options it has and then it allows those items to work properly.

      What code are you speaking of? I am guess your upgrading your mirrors and needing to have the dealer change the sales codes to get them to work properly. Typically what I do is see if there was a kit thru Mopar....if so then there will be a set of instructions that tell the sales codes needed. Otherwise the dealer can see all the avail sales codes when they log online to change them. Sometimes it depends on the year. Looking on line I see LEB, LEC, and LEG being 3 that people have been using. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe.
