Borderline Identity Theft Scam

This is a dishonest letter that is knowingly being sent by reputable organizations intended to scare you into buying something you don't need by telling you a story that is a complete lie. All you need to do is ignore it, unless you want to give some of these organizations doing this a piece of your mind. I call it a borderline scam because while nobody is actually trying to steal from you, they are being totally dishonest in what they are claiming happened to your identity information.
