Thank you for the awesome video. I have a question, my step won’t stay out even though I flip the step switch to be open. Do you have any suggestion?

@giainhsumofamily9038 I need you to give me the condition that leads to the steps not staying out. One condition is, you arrive at destination, turn ignition key off. Go to door and open it. The steps go out but do not stay when you close the door. Let’s start with that. Let me know if this works by staying out. This is called ignition override.

@@samowens44 I parked my RV for a while, and while the step staying out. One day I want to put the step back, I heard the motor running when the door open and closed, but my step stuck. I disengage the step arm and oil all the moving hinges. I used a big wood block and slam the step in. Once it in. I pull and push the step manually until it moved freely, the I installed the step arm back. When I open the door, the step come out. When I close the door. the step come in. when I open the door, press the door switch. close the door, it won’t stay out.

@@giainhsumofamily9038 if you hear the motor running and the steps not moving, that means the gearbox could have a stripped gear tooth. You should never hear that condition. The motor should shut off or try to reverse if at all. Not sure about the switch not keeping steps out. Don’t know which steps you have. Kwikee steps are the one I have. You use the switch to lock steps in, no out. Lock out is the feature of ignition override. The yellow wire from control we should have pos battery all the time and hat is what keeps steps out. The switch will only hold steps in. To keep steps in you have to go thru sequence with ign switch on door closed and throw the switch steps will stay in then turn off ignition. That is for Kwikee steps. Lippert steps work opposite. Use switch to lock steps out.
