I don't want to say "I can't believe it's that easy," so instead I'll say "I can't believe I let myself think it was so difficult." Blender is really intimidating, but you've taken away a lot of the mystery and made me feel like I'm ready to graduate from donuts to architectural digest
This video is a bit old by now, but to those who are still finding this video for the first time: Please remember to make your renders true-to-scale, in this case specifically with the size of the room in the video. It's important to do this because if an object is significantly larger or smaller than intended, there can be inconsistencies in the final render because the way the camera interacts with light and depth of field will make the render look odd, although you may not be able to tell exactly why it looks weird. Good luck! 😁
recreated everything step by step took couple of hours but u made me tune in my work on time and my deadline is dew in few hours lmao, glad i pulled an all nighter
If you are trying to get the texture coordinates and mapping node by shortcut you need to go to edit then preferences then add on search node Wangler then enable it to use the shortcut Ctrl + T
Awesome tutorial! Would be nice seeing one teaching how to import a model in other formats (fbx., obj.) and how to apply the texture map and correctly use the shader nodes
You deserve more subs man I’m working through the tutorial and you made it so clear what I needed to do. Unlike other tutorials which make massive skips without showing what to do
Quick and easy tutorial, I love this!!! I’m a designer who’s currently transitioning into blender, my medium was 3ds max and sketchup and this one is perfect for my software transition 👏
Lesson learnt from this video: learn how to create glass texture so that I wont have to just hide the glass geometry to mimic transparency. Great tutorial !!
Hi! Thank you so much for the tutorial! Anyway, may i know what version of blender did you use for this video? I use 4.0 and 3.6 but cannot find the options for wedge faces... 😔. Can anyone help me, please? Thank you (sorry for my bad English)
Great video. Very useful. Can I ask you why you don't build the wall, just building walls! 😏 I mean.. You can take a cube give a starting point, outside, inside texture, exact dimension, etc.. Name it, apply scale rotation, than duplicate it and goes on and on.. So you have name for each partition, you can apply boolean for doors and windows etc. And have all separate object. I have also textured pre-built wall in obj or fbx . I'm just saying what I do.. not teaching.. Maybe I'm wrong Using Blender from few months. Thanks. 👍 Greets from Italy
Hi. I love the way you teach. Detailed, steady pace and easy to understand. Well done !!!!. If it's not asking too much, could you create a video on virtual staging? Struggling to understand plugging images into material nodes and projecting images on geometry. Cheers.!!!!
How can you match the opposite edge at 1:59? I see you press G, sliding it backwards and then somehow it ends up at the opposite edge when you release it. How? It doesn't work here. Any ideas?
The tabs at the bottom are not default, i.e the size adjustment, insert face tab etc. This seems like a good tutorial but I had to stop about a minute in because I am unable to use the windows that you are in the bottom left
Thanks for the tutorial! A question - When I import and apply the floor texture on Blender 4, its showing as a dark, smooth wood coloured gradient, with no wood texture - I've tried moving some of the parameters but no luck thus far - any ideas what could be the cause of this? Thank you!
I don't know why it is acting up but the texture is originally from Poly Haven and is called Wood Floor, there are also plenty of other free floor textures for you to use as well.
@@EPICMAN_3D Thanks for the reply - turned out I had to UV unwrap it before it would display correctly - adding this here for anyone else who has the same issue
@@snufkindan I had the same issue. For anyone who needs to UV unwrap, go into edit mode, select all the geometry with A, then U to unwrap and select “project from view bounds”.
Love the Video! thanks for creating it I am absolutely new to Blender and Archive. Can I ask you why I am not able to make the loop cut on the walls and ceiling? :( I am only to do that on the floor face. Much blessings on your way
I got stuck on a glass part. Also there is no glass material in the description. I'm new to blender so I don't even know how to install a shader. Otherwise a very good tutorial!!
Not going to lie, I can't even get past the select face at 0:23.... I have the select tool selected but when I click the face it just keeps moving the cursor point around haha oooh this is going to be a long day any help would be appreciated!
i got the materials from your description, but when i click on them, they open in a new project. How do I import or "load" these materials in order to use them for a different project (the interior) ?
That is because you're in vertice select mode and you need to change to face select, if you are struggling with the tutorial watch an absolute beginner's tutorial like the donut tutorial and then come back.
Please, when making a beginner tutorial, don't fly past ANYTHING. When you made your walls line up after deleting the front faces, you made it easily click into place exactly where you needed it to. I'm currently struggling to replicate what you did there. It seems to have something to do with the middle wheel. I got it to happen on one wall but I don't know exactly what I did and I can't get it to happen on the other wall. Every tutorial I watch has this issue, where they just blow past some hotkey they know or some setting you need and then you can't follow the rest of the tutorial.
solved it! for future reference if anyone sees this: press x or y after g so that it only moves along that axis. then it will snap parallel to the other vertex
@@EPICMAN_3D hey thank you. One more question. I downloaded the Home Builder add-on and enabled it. But I have 5 home builder tabs on my toolbar. Do you know how I can get rid of 4 of them so I just have 1 up there?
Sorry its supposed to be x-ray and its the button in the top right corridor next to the show overlays button (it's the one with the two squares over lapping). Hope that helps.

Why dont the textures load, when I append the textures and put them onto the geometry it just turns the mesh black. Im using blender 3.0.1 but I dont think thats the problem. Any other reasons this could be happening?

First delete the cube, then add a new cube.
Classic🎉
It’s just more satisfying to delete the cube tbh
And the slaughter of innocent young cubes continues.

Hello !! I’m really struggling to get « inside » the house , I can’t get correctly trough the wall . Do you know how I can fix that ? :)
Click on any part of the 'house', then click '.' on your keypad, now you can get inside the house by rotating and zooming.
why is it when i click tab and click on a side, i only tabs onto a the dots, and i have no move option
That is because you're in vertice select mode and you need to change to face select, if you are struggling with the tutorial watch an absolute beginner's tutorial like the donut tutorial and then come back.
