I wouldn't be surprised if he does well, but Chicago does have a bad history of developing QBs (not to mention having no QB throw over 4000 yards throughout the decades-long history of the organization), so I can understand the argument for and against Caleb doing well...

I’m just annoyed how Shady thinks with a revisionist historical perspective. All those guys Acho named were special coming out of college at their respective eras. The fact he kept saying everyone is good in college but acts as Caleb Williams is not also under that scope, he has the best situation to be great as a rookie but he still has to prove himself

I actually agree with Acho this time. They're not understanding what he's trying to say but that line at the end described it perfectly. He’s literally auditioning for something else and this genre doesn’t translate to what Acho is actually interested in. He makes the show terrible. I’m not saying that to personally attack him. He needs to move on 😂😂😂 I actually think Marcellus Wiley & Emmanuel Acho were the perfect pair!!! Their vocabulary & the way they “verbally paint” pictures to make points were 2nd to none. But to each it’s own.

Every number 1 pick looked different, or special, thats why they went number 1. sam Bradford was absolutely special. I grew up watching shady become the all time leading rusher for my eagles but he is dead wrong. he was an insanely accurate passer that threw absolute lasers. people definitely had all-time projections for Bradford and if his career wasn't derailed by injuries he just might've been. shady makes it seem like he was just ok or terrible even. if "everybody is good in college" why can't that apply to Caleb? I think Caleb will be great, but people look special in college and then lay eggs in the league all the time.

Bradford tore the same ACL twice which is really rare in ALL of sports. that can (and did in his case) lead to a lot of insecurity and indecision as a QB because the thoughts of sticking in the pocket too long can creep into your mind and lead you to make fear based decisions which often lead to disaster.

Caleb is a tremendous talent and yes he may bust but he may end up being one of the best we`ve ever seen. The bears have never had in their 100+ year history a qb with this level of talent. No one was excited when we drafted Trubisky because he was not elite in college, he was good and it was a small sample of games. Fields, super talented but in college threw to elite wrs who were 5 feet open from behind an elite offensive line which is why he didnt run in college like he did with the Bears. His problem was slow processing and poor footwork that lead to inconsistent throws making him quite innaccurate or just flat out late throwing the ball.

1 thing that GB does that Chicago will never do. They will draft a QB, let him sit and learn. They will also draft and develop WRs by letting them play. So when said QB is ready to play, he's playing with experienced talented WRs. You see blueprints work and some don't work. Da Bears blueprints don't work. They're doing the same thing again.

I admit I don’t always agree with Shady. Everyone is good college but are always special in the NFL. Even PM was just good in college but was drafted into the right situation to make him special. Yes, previous Bears regimes stuck to the organizational status quo but this totally different regime who has developed a status quo which they took a wrinkles from the old and add some new wrinkles to build something special on paper. Now it just on the players and coaches to maximize the returns on the investment. I’ll even say this Fields would have been better in Waldrons offense but not as good as Williams will be. Poles should be commended for the work he has done with DA BEARS. The fruits of his labor will be on display soon and for a long time into the future.

"I need to see the Bears help Caleb Williams out!" Bro, what? Where have you been? The Bears are the only team in NFL history to have 2 1000 yard receivers on the roster from the previous season, and draft a top 10 WR in the draft. No other team has done that. Why? Because its unnecessary. But the Bears are literally trying to help out their rookie QB. They have been drafting and developing their roster for Caleb, or more realistically any of the QB's in this draft, since Poles took over. The DJ Moore trade wasn't for Justin, it was for this QB class. The Tackle we took in the top 10 last year, for this QB class. The Defense was built to be ready for this QB class. I am tired of hearing about the Bears history. This is not the same Bears organization of the past. The new Bears staff never truly believed in Justin Fields. I don't think they had any intention of extending him. We got lucky to be able to draft Caleb, but the Bears were gearing up to start their window with this QB class, because they know how important it is to put a young QB in a position to succeed. And they have done that. Does that mean Caleb will be great, of course not. But, you definitely can't say that the Bears didn't give him a chance to be successful.

I disagree with Shady and Acho. You cant call a QB "Generational" until he has multiple years with high success in the League. You can see most of the time if a players skills will translate to the game. We use that world Generational every draft. The definition of the word, disputes both of their arguments lol. Im a Jags fan. Trevor was deemed "Generational" and has been average at best. Andrew Luck "Generational" had a solid career no AFC or Superbowl appearances. Nobody said Pat Mahomes was Generational out of college or the same for a Tom Brady.

What a joke of a segment? They said Trevor Lawrence was generational. He has 1 playoff win in 4 years. Chicago has elite offensive talent? D.J Moore is definitely solid. But when was the last time Keenan Allen played a full season? Swift had one decent year behind the best offensive line in football. In 4 years in Detroit Swift was a bust behind a top 5 offensive line. Where does Chicago's offensive line rank? I watched Caleb play at USC. I didn't see a generational QB. He didn't elevate the players around him. I don't see Chicago finishing higher than 3rd in the NFC north.
