I’ve stopped at Areca many many times always good and great situation for LK Metro / Soi Buckaw . Also it’s almost opposite one of my favourite morning / afternoon bars . Harry’s ! Another great video Ed
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Have often wondered what it's like there. By the way you didn't have to keep your mask on, I'm sure I'd have been quite safe.
Hi mate great hotel and well worth it.Always stay in the evergreen building,it’s not as old as the other two.Great breakfast great staff and great location.
It looks nice. I always end up going for 2 star budget hotel because I get in late so have no chance of making breakfast. Also I too never get round to using the swimming pool at the hotel as I just want to hit the bars for some reason!
love soi diana,my old stomping ground, soi 10,walked past this place a thousand times and always wondered what is was like inside, thanks Ed,back in the day id stay 50 mtrs further up the road twd 3rd rd,absolutely fantastic location soi 10 and the soi metro area
Best review of the Areca i've seen. Always wanted to stay there but it always seem to be booked full for late Nov, Dec, Jan. I always rent a condo at VT6 so not bad. Thanks for posting sir!
Always stay here when possible, previously when I used to visit on business when my expenses account ran to a great deal more, going back 15 years or so. Cut a great B&B deal for 2 months during the Red/Yellow shirts skirmishes in Bangkok when I needed peace and quiet to work and relax. Great pools, breakfast etc. Post employment the Areca continues to be my fave in Pats
Hi Eddy. The hotel is ok but why don't you use Airbnb? Far cheaper. Rooms far bigger with separate living room bedrooms bathroom and kitchen. The same facilities. Lady friendly and security for peace of mind. Guards take the girls ID until they leave. Happy to tell you where I stay. It's just off second road. Ideal for baht bus to everywhere. No maid knocking on your door. 🙃
I stayed there few years ago, had a room overlooking the pool, lovely hotel service was really good also the breakfast. Ideally situated and good price, I would definitely stay there again. Guest friendly as well.
Love the Steady Eddy 5-star review. I've stayed there a couple of times myself. One of the best places in that part of Pattaya. I'm enjoying your journey and take care.
Hey Eddie I’m glad you have done this Vlog, This is the hotel I last stayed in , in Pattaya, We had some amazing fun there and swimming in the pools etc, This brings back good memories thanks mate , Take care.
I always find that Luck bar opposite that hotel is a nice easy bar to relax in. Girls are friendly without pressuring you and prices are ok. But I haven't been there since January 2020. Due to be there Monday 24th this month. If your still around Ed I will buy you a beer or two for all your hard work. Well done mate. Keep it up.
Nice review , thanks for showing us around, ive seen that hotel many times and always thought its in a perfect position and looks quality ,i looked on agoda but the price tag put me off last time I was there just before covid it was about 68 quid a night ,which is a bit strong that was in january so,yes high season ,i will try in March onwards next time probably a bit mote budget friendly
Showed the front desk at Areca this video, the skinny girl looks and says, " Ohhh 40,000 subscribers". " I remember him.." You made them happy Eddie 👍👍
Ive forgot how many times Ive booked and had to cancel Areca lodge in the last 2 years. Fingers crossed for April. Areca is our go to hotel, has proper bacon at breakfast too. 😄👍
Thanks Ed.on the backing if your review I have booked 2 weeks at areca for June. Always a good time of year there. Just hope restrictions are gone by then. I'm just back from 4 weeks in phuket samui and phangan and it's just not the same. I'd give samui a skip if you were thinking about it. It's dead there
A Nice rewiev. But it is actually 3 buildings. Building no 3 is The one opposite your room. Agree that The aircon is noisy. It was so noisy that I upgraded my room. Add 200bt to 1750bt and got a room in The most recently renovated part of The hotel. Same building as The breakfastroom. Very comfortable and quiet rooms. Can recomend. Guestfriendly as you stated, The lady looked at me smiling and said one ladyfriend free if you bring 2 ladyfriends 300bt extra for towels.. lol
Hi Ed. I stayed there in March 2020. It’s one of my favorite, especially the newer area near Soi Diane (or is it Diana). I love the location, I would cut through the back when I wanted to go to The Avenue. And, while I was there, I met you while I was walking on Soi Buakhao. Glad to see your back. I want to stay there again when I return.
On the to stay list but with so many recommendations just have not got to this one, But like you Eddie heard many good things and being close to the action no problems bring guest back ticks all the boxes yes you stuck gold.
4 times i spent there Ed ,first time wasn't so nice ..My balcony overlooked a high rise parking lot(serves me right on trying to save a few £) 🤦♂️But my last time was worse ,i turned up and the 2nd swimming pool was out of use and being repaired ..Didn't ruin my holiday though ..the staff are lovely as always ❤️2 oclock you wake up ..you ever heard about people saying about the SUN ..it's real mate😏Your room was the same or close to it when the pool was out of use 😏
nice review Eddie.this was my go to hotel.always stayed in the new section..but they priced them selves out of it......much better hotels around for half the price.....
Hi Eddy. Looks lovely, but a tad expensive! They used to have the annual Ladyboy water volleyball charity event every November there, an real EYE OPENER! Also, why where you wearing a face mask in your room? Take care, and enjoy! 🇬🇧
I know it well, usually stay there when in Pattaya. Great location, across the road from LK Metro, and two pools a nice alternative to the beach. The gym is tiny and had no air con last time, which made it impossible to use. Last time I was there it was getting renovated, so could be looking good now. Only bad thing I remember was the bloody loud and hot AC on the balcony. Oh and I remember that little chaise longue (?) coming in useful many an evening!
I stayed at arika first visit in 2003. It was only one building back then. It was waste land round the back. Very nice though and at the time about £12 a night with the exchange rate and lower prices at the time. Didn’t stay again though as never used pool gym or breakfast. Thereafter stayed at cheaper places near by.
The Areca nut is chewed with Betel leaf. The emphasis is on the last syllable as in Ar-e-Car. Before the refurbishment the foyer appeared not to have changed since the 1970s with all the different clocks and telephone booth.
I stay there often the trick is to say you have two guest that way your lady friend if she stays the night can have breakfast lol I like the new part better your staying in the old part of the hotel there are rooms that where 600 TB but you have to ask and they are not much of a view but they do have aircon
Stayed there for my first 5 to 6 years very enjoyable loved there seafood fried rice 3 buildings areca corona and evergreen had a specials card (ace card) also can get breakfast in the evergreen exits out to soi at back so you can get to Avenue shops. Changed over to condos later for better value. Great position.
That is a very nice hotel! It has all of the services you would find in much more expensive places. Lovely and spacious hotel room, too. I would love to meet and sit at a table with you in their Beer Garden or Beer Court sometime for a few brews! Thanks for the tour!
Oh and there is a beer ya got to try when you get to Cambodia (I know you will be feet on the ground there soon lol) Hanuman Beer 🍺. New brew apparently. I asked em to order a case to see what people think (we only stock Angkhor, Cambodia and Ganzberg). Happy travels and don't trust the hotel Johnnies! 🤣😂🤣

Great review Eddie wow the price is right for me i been to Pattaya many times really never heard of the hotel wonderful that's great i am planning my trip for this some time just waiting for the sand box but still i bit scared about the testing god i hope i don't test positive that's the only thing i am worried about anyway Eddie have a great holiday and remember keep smiling
Areca Lodge on Soi Diana. Stayed there first time in 2004. It's been hugely renovated and I could hardly recognize it in 2020. BTW in the deepest dark time of 2020 the room was 800 Baht. But no buffet breakfast only boring same stuff every morning (very few guests). You (and I) stayed in the "Corona" building (not the virus :>). Other buildings have even better rooms/AC etc. At the good old times before Covid you could hardly get a room for less than 2500 in January.

Hi Eddie, Cracking Hotel you've got there mate 👋 I'm the same as you I never watch the telly 📺 and I never use the Hotel pool 🏊♀ Have a good one Pal 😎
I've never stayed in the Areca Lodge, but walked past it many times. Kev in Thailand (rip) used to frequently mention the hotel on his videos. Loving the vids! Great news is coming out of the LOS's that the Test and Go is likely to restart by the beginning of February! My month long trip at the end of March is starting to look as though it's finally going to happen!! Yah!!!!
Great review, I'm staying there already over 10 yrs Older rooms are areca wing Corona wing I stay deluxe room/ facing pool Then there's evergreen wing but much more expensive Buffet every morning in both buildings Guest friendly
Additional info, buffet brekkers, second larger pool not shown with poolside restaurant, another restaurant adjacent to outside bar to the front of the property
Nice review Eddie, I don’t blame you for treating yourself to a nice hotel like that, the breakfast buffet is a nice extra and worth a few quid as are the 2 pools and gym. Regarding the TV in the room and wether or not people watch it, I do tend to turn it on in any new country I’m in because it gives me a small insight to what’s going on and I really get a sense that I’m in another country even if that means I’m watching a naff soap opera in a language I don’t understand! Keep the videos coming mate, a lot of us are travelling vicariously through you until we can hit the road again.
I like watching Thai TV Channels as well even though I don't understand a word of it. Nice just to browse through the channels see what sort of stuff the Thai's are watching.
Hi Eddy, another great sitrep mate! For a room and breakfast like that it's a good deal and the pool makes it an excellent deal. You are helping a lot of people I reckon with your videos. Help them land on their feet instead of their arse lol. (you only missed out the ubiquitous old school Thai hotel bottle opener on the bathroom wall) keep up the good work, live your videos 👍
I stayed there a few years ago...great location. My problem with it was that the sheets weren't made of cotton. They were of some man made material that "didn't breathe". I sweated all night.
Edward - Don’t tell the world that you don’t use the safe and you keep all your valuables in your suitcase. Tip of the day! Great videos enjoy your holiday.
Good honest review it’s a decent hotel, Your right Eddie, you are getting forgetful in your old age… you even forgot to take off your mask inside your room. Lol
Hi Eddie. Stayed at this hotel early last year. Same building as you mate. Loved it there . I used the guest friendly service myself before I met my girlfriend. I think I was on the 4th floor with the same view. I did get it cheaper at the time I traveled there from Agoda . February last year.
You want to try the one one door to that Ed called the centara azure it knocks socks off that areca lodge and very reasonably priced including breakfast very well recommended ive stayed there lots of times and other hotels I've stayed in it doesn't compare 👍
A good review of a Pattaya hotel.... I have always stayed at an apartment block (Srithong Place opporsite Keng Lee)on Central Pattaya Road... It was 800Bht a night, no brekki but my breakfast is usually around lunchtime anyway! And there are plenty of places for eating. It's guest friendly and an equal distant from Soi 6 area as to LK Metro and beyond..... So, assumning it's still open when Thailand is back to normal tourism i will probably use again.... but if not i may try this one.....
Hi Eddie. Just watched your video on Areca Lodge Hotel. I have stayed at Areca 5 times over the last 12 years.Always stay at this hotel. It's brilliant reasonable prices. Great location. LK Metro just 2 minutes away.great go go bars there.Areca is not the cheapest. And not the most expensive. But I loved my stays there. Highly recommended. Another great video.keep up the good work. One last point. I ALWAYS book my room in the front building by the first pool. That's called Areca.the third building behind the second pool is Evergreen building. The one you stayed in is the middle building. Corona building. I prefer the front one.Areca.Hope this info is helpfull to you and you veiwers. Jim.😉👍
Hi Eddie. Ask the Areca staff to show you a deluxe room with a pool view in the front building Areca building looking out onto the front pool. It's my preferred choice of room. Cheers Jim.
Great looking hotel. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks very much for that Ed, looks very nice. Cheeeeeeeers!

I like you have never stayed there,
Maybe next trip in august
Yum yum Ed lovely brekkie another cracking video

Thanks for that report-i only yesterday asked another influencer about this hotel! Great value indeed.
Stayed many times one of my favourite hotels. Can't beat location and price plus it's got a little gym and pools. Take care eddy. Enjoy Koh Chang

I am enjoying the adventure Eddy!
You really threw me with the title for a moment by writing Diane instead of Diana!

Hi there, which wing of the hotel room was your room in? Were you in the Evergreen wing? If so, was it a long walk to soi diana from the room?
Can't remember but the hotel is on Soi Diana so it's not far.

Your right Eddie, you are getting forgetful in your old age… you even forgot to take off your mask inside your room. Lol
Hi Eddie. Stayed at this hotel early last year. Same building as you mate. Loved it there . I used the guest friendly service myself before I met my girlfriend. I think I was on the 4th floor with the same view. I did get it cheaper at the time I traveled there from Agoda . February last year.
Great to hear from you, Andrew. Hope all is well.
Thank you for keeping your mask on in your room - I don't want to catch the Onion🤣
Jim.😉👍
Cheers, Jim.
Hi Eddie. Ask the Areca staff to show you a deluxe room with a pool view in the front building Areca building looking out onto the front pool. It's my preferred choice of room. Cheers Jim.
Excellent hotel Eddie, first time i stayed there i think it was 11.00 bht in 2003
