As we know a full metal housing, though sturdier, is gradually more expensive than tempered glass. Because of this trend, as you've mentioned, companies could use this material as it is considered "premium" in the eyes of consumers and still have it for their benefit due to its price tag. It's much to the matter of feel and their savings in manufacturing materials.
Sept 2020: I bought this phone at motorola.com for $319. It does come with Android 9 Pie, but I got an Android 10 update when I powered it up. It's a pretty solid phone for the money. U do give up wireless charging. Motorola has regular specials, so keep your eyes open.
I just want to know what's the impedance of the headphones they're using because level of volume will be quite different for standard smartphone headphones and some more beefy, 80Ohm headset.
I paid 330 € for my Mi 9T and very soon One Zoom became discounted to 280 € ever since here in Finland. I think I would have bought One Zoom over Mi 9T for that price. Currently One Zoom is a very good deal amongst phones around 300 € here, pretty much the best buy. I'd say it has a pretty dominating position if chipset performance is not a priority.

I think that the main point of glass is to include wireless charging. If you didn't include wireless charging, then go with either a metal or plastic back. They're more durable than a glass back, and more practical if you don't include wireless charging.

Motorolas top phone has the same chipset that other phone makers use in their lower end devices. Seriously, whats up with these western brands being cheap with chipsets, while pricing their phones so highly ??

@abhitechie Your example is not very good, as roads will not become more demanding on ferari over time and will not slow it down. Better chipset can extend the usefulness of a device by years. Its also not more power efficient than flagship chipset devices, as you saw with battery test. Also, there are immediate advantages a better chipset provides, like ability for 4k60fps recording, better fps in gaming and more snappy experience overall.

I bought the galaxy a51 and was going to use it to make youtube videos. I honestly really hate how overprocessed and saturated the photos and videos look on the a51. My phone before was a motorola g6 play, and its insane that i actually like selfies on my motorola much better. So now im debating buying the one zoom and returning the a51
Motorola is now lenovo. Be careful with that becuase lenovo has the worse after sales. THey will refuse to fix even software issues if there is even a single scratch on the phone.
save themselves money and fine tune maybe 4 good phones and make them a no brainer choice for a reasonably priced phone and they are still in the 6 series processors, i think they go all the way up to 9, the processor is what it is all about, it is a game with Qualcomm they can just confuse you with the choices and charge all kinds of crazy prices can't image they are justified, more of a gimic.

Never again Motorola. My Moto X lasted just about 1.5 years before the battery was completely dead. Phone would shut down after reaching 60% charge (from full).
I had this same issue with my Moto G4 Play. But I used it slightly more than 1.5 year. The battery was suddenly dying after drop to 50%. Nothing below that. And, for some reason, it wasn't getting fully charged. I could let it plugged in the charger for all day long and the battery would be stuck in 85%. Then, the process was repeated. From 85 to 50% in about 3h of modest usage til it die completely.
This might sound like an excuse, but if buying new, better not charge phones above 80% or let it drop below 20% all the time to keep it healthy. I face the same issues when buying used phones because the previous owners might have abused the batteries constantly.
That display looks very similar to the lg g8x, it's the same size, resolution, and has the same notch. I wonder if LG is supplying Moto? On another note, this guys vocal fry is really annoying.
As per Benchmark and AnTuTu Scores, Snapdragon 675 is better than Snapdragon 710 and 712. Because of Kyro 460 Cores in 675. But, Actually Moto One Zoom should have Snapdragon 730G or 730.

I don't think anyone has realised, this is basically a recycled Moto z4 for the most part including the sides and front. The CPU, RAM, storage, screen, fingerprint scanner, front camera, rear main camera , metal frame including all cutouts for the speaker, buttons and headphone jack ALL the same as the z4! Probably the reason why there is no android one here. Funny and interesting how this phone is praised (whatever praise it does get) a lot more than the z4 in these specific areas by pretty much all reviewers. Bias much?
I have the phone, camera quality improved over time, Video can get much better by using Open Camera. It's good enough to beat my actual camera in any situation except Zoom, since my camera is an 1200mm Superzoom.
This phone is horrible. I bought from Motorola and it doesn't have wifi calling and drops calls all the time. Unfortunately it took longer than 14 days for me to discover the faults of the phone (return period). Does not come with Voice over LTE. Also does not make calls over LTE. I fixed my moto z3 because I can use the phone functionality. Motorola does not stand behind their product anymore.

I experienced same problem with my moto x play. Below 60% battery would suddenly die

Z4 has a recycled design from 3 years ago, and only a single camera. Not as fresh as the Zoom.
