The 1948 Ashes tour where Australia never lost a game and were name and proclaimed as ''The Invincibles''. It was also at The Oval, the ground and Test Match depicted in this movie, that saw The Don get out for a duck which gave him a career batting average of 99.94. If he had scored just 4 runs his average would have been 100.
Very nice film. Robert Morley was hilariously delightful. The father-son portrayal was very well done. The mother and domestic were very funny as well. I would have enjoyed a bit more of the American South-West gentleman, but he was probably just enough of a good thing. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the film. This is one the entire family can enjoy.
an end of the week tonic! just as well portly/aged Jack Warner was out for a duck as he'd never have reached the other end of the crease... (Mike Gatting was at least fit!) lovely to see Compton, Hutton and co. Class structure in post-war Britain writ large. Morley did his usual ham turn but Richard Wattis in a small part stole the show.
Why do uploaders nearly always cut the end credits!! Really spoils the end to be suddenly thrown back to reality. Not to mention reading the cast list!
Thanks million for this...Hutton,Compton..etc. on a film...
Can't get any better than this....

🤣🤣Cora w/the absolute best line in the movie “Of course, I know what they were after and how do you know I didn’t want them to get it!”😉😉
Wonderful.. For quite a few reasons that was just what I needed.
Yes, me too! I'm uplifted and optimistic once again.
Very good watch,, your downloads are always hidden gems.

Good old days
'England is finished ' at the beginning.I thought it was today and not 1953
Having just made 300 thumbs-up, I feel as pleased as if I'd been given out for a duck.
🏏🏏🏏cricket movie really good ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jack Warner was in his late 50's at the time and far too old to be playing a test cricketer. I see there were no scenes of him fielding.
Couldn’t see Jack Warner in a T20 today!!
Anyone know the name of this piece of film without intro and exit credits?

Is this the 1953 movie or the 1961?
1953
No food in the ground!!
TOO QUIET.
At 5.55, does anyone know who is "Frank"?
@@bilivicscorpio3874 Many thanks - I knew it wasn't Woolley or Tyson!
