Thank you so much for this! I'm finally starting my journey of learning Italian this year. A lifelong, one entangled in the classical world, history and philosophies, all that beautiful stuff. (as i plan to start learning latin and greek next year too) But this, this song of beauty for the people is one of the treats for some purely fun learning through music I've always had planned. This video really helps so much can't wait to check out more of your content! You're so handsome on the eyes and ears with your talent! Thank you again!

Thank you so much for such thorough explanation 👍🙏 I’d like to ask why some lyric says Mi son Alzato ? Here is Mi son Svegliato ? Any reason for this or any differences in meaning ?

    • @lislearnitalianwithsongs
      @lislearnitalianwithsongs  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for this comment!
The difference between “alzato “ and “svegliato” like the difference between “got up” and “woke up”.
So “mi sono alzato “ = I got up
Mi sono svegliato = I woke up

This song has been very popular among protest Turkish youth through couple generations. Especially with in the Socalist, Communist groups.
During the Gezi Protest at 2013, Thousand Turkish people (E le genti) sing it together at Taksim Square.
(Same song translated into turkish lyrics ''Grup Yorum - Bella Ciao'')
Year 2020 at İzmir province (4 milion population- 3rd biggest city %70 secular) ...
(una mattina) people shocked, instead of hearding pray from stero of mosques,
caio bella song resounded through the area. ( Troll)... religious conservatives pissed via nationwide news.
even became so much popular with casa de papel and netflix effect...
... I have learned italian version with pronouncation (vero) now, molte grazie !
    P.s
İtalian almost phonetic few exceptions, Turkish is even more phonetic,
each letter has special unique sound, there is no letter combination for different sounds in our language.
Some italian letter sound change with soft vowels, some sound doesnt exist L'afabeto italiano instead they use letter combinations.
    (most tricky vowel-consonant Combos Sound İtalian and Turkish sound compare: Sca-Ska, Sco-Sko, Sce-Şe, Sci--Şi, scia-şa, sciu-şu)
Learning italian sound and pronouncation kinda easy for me. Almost same pronuncations.
Tricky words-exception for Ciao Bello Song:
Svegliato -- Zivelyato (italan ''gli'' sound tricky like lyie)
    Montagna--Montanya
    Che--Ke
Genti--Centi (in our language G sound never change-like grazie)
    (Gn sound y)
    (Ge sound ce)
    (Çi sound Ci)
(s sound turns between two constant like Z sound -- Casa= Kaza)
the words herein below and few exceptions almost or fully identical sound and same meaning ( most of them italian origin)
    İtalya--İtalia
    Roma-Roma,
    Genaral-Genarale
    Fiyasko-Fiasco
    Makina-Macchina
    İskonto--Sconto
    Banka-Banca
    Fabrika--Fabbrica
    Çikolata-Cioccolato
    Kampanya--Campagna
    Mobilya--Mobilia
    Banyo--Bagno
    Limonata--Limonada
    Palyaço--Pagliaccio
    Piyasa-Piazza
    Vaso--Vazo
    Antika--Antico

Thanks a lot for this beautiful comment! Thanks for writing about the popularity and “use” of this song in Turkey!
It was really informative and very interesting.
You are right: despite being more “phonetically transparent “ than, say English, the Italian language does have a few rules to memorize.
Thanks for pointing them Out in great detail!
      Grazie e ciao!
