    Just note to myself:
    1. Top 1000 words - 100/day, using flash cards
    2. Reviewing them everyday - repetition is key
    3. Commonly used verbs and conjugations
    4. Keep a journal in that language
    5. Keep an activity log (of the learning journey)
    6. Watch videos in that language
    7. Music
    8. Hello talk (after you’ve built some basic knowledge)
    9. Get a workbook (conversation)
    10. Read and listen to children’s book

Sorriso Colgate be careful to don’t mixed up cette and c’est. Cette is use for showing off something. Like pointing it out. For example if you wanna say ‘look at this scarf’ you’ll have to use ‘cette’. C’est is the verb ‘is’ so when you use the form ´this is’ in English, you have to use ´c’est’. Also something I’ve noticed about ppl when they learn French is that they usually use only masculine or feminine adjectives or articles. We are really annoying on gender I know but if you don’t specify it’s just really weird for us

When I heard you say “I know Spanish”, I was like “here's another Nathaniel...”, but how you speak at the end is an actually believable result after a month of daily practice without a tutor and real-life immersion.
With Nathaniel, he obviously knew enough basics when he started, and although his advice is legit, the results aren't a realistic benchmark for people starting from scratch.
So thanks for a realistic benchmark :)

Ciao a tutti! Thanks for stopping by and watching this video. Of course, I need to note that I did NOT become fluent in one month and that short Italian part at the end was not everything I learned. Learning a new language takes time and I definitely think you start to understand it a lot faster than you are able to speak it. I'm having so much fun learning Italian and I cannot wait until I can become more conversational. If you're learning a new language, let me know in the comments below which one it is! 😊

This a great video, really eloquently put together. I think the number one most important thing to learn a language is to not be embarrassed. I remember when I was in Spanish class in high school nobody wanted to improve their accent because they thought it sounded tryhard or weird, but now I'm here in Spain and those same kinds of people sound completely American when they speak.
At first, your sentences will sound like a child speaking, you won't know every verb tense, you will feel uncomfortable talking with natives, etc. Once I learned to get over my fear of these things my proficiency skyrocketed.
    Ciao!

I’m a year late in finding this but: thank you so much for making this video! I’ve been studying for a long while, and a lot of the tips you mentioned here were some of the ones that helped me most! And you mentioning your progress also confirmed to me that some study ideas I have may actually pay off the way I’m hoping.
I’m currently learning the most common 1000 words in chinese, cause a long time ago when I was learning French - learning the most common words boosted my ability to read/watch/speak basically a ton. In chinese I kept hitting walls of very little comprehension, so I rethought my strategy and decided to go through the most common words and characters before diving back into the grammar/listening etc that id been working on. Hearing you did exposure to the 1000 words in the beginning first makes me hopeful my plan will help a bit too. Also I just started using hellotalk and I can’t agree more! It got me to start practicing speaking a lot more! Your tip to do a conversational workbook to work on good sentences is something id like to include in my plans. I was debating I’d rewatching chinese shows I’ve seen with only chinese subtitles would help at all, and hearing you did this with Italian makes me hopeful it might help somewhat. I love that all your tips in here consider trying to approach learning while practicing all of the areas of writing/listening/speaking/reading. For a beginner starting out, this video really lays out a good starting idea for making a study plan!

Italian grammar is much more complicated than the English one, so I guess it’s much more difficult learning Italian from English than the opposite.

As an italian a would like to say that that was a good effort. I know you have done great progress in 3 years but just an advice for everyoneelse; keep practicing those double consonants people, they are very important and make the difference between one world and another. For example here 14:13 Shea said "l'ano scorso" = "the last anus", instead of "l'anno scorso"= "the last year" with double N which is what she was trying to say. There are words such, cappello (double p) and capello (one p) carro and Caro, etc. Make sure those doubles can be herd. Baci e abbracci a tutti.

Since I have a lot of time because of the quarantine I decided that it's finaly time to learn italian.
My whole family (mom, auntie and gradma) all know italian and my grandpa is italian, but I never got enough time somehow to learn the language. Some days ago my grandpa called and told me that he practised English, so we can communicate (I am bulgarian, but he decided that it's easier to learn English) and I realised that this person, a grown up person is talking his time to learn a language just to talk to me, that is not even my native language and I got kind of dissapointed in myself for not doing anything for him so now I'm trying to learn italian, so we can talk more often and so it could be easier for him, I know that he will be very happy and now I'm doing it!
These tips are so good and I'm just at the beggining, but I really do think that they will help me a lot with my journey of learning the language and I'm really grateful for finding this video, thank you so much ♥️

actually it's sono andata bc when you use essere in the past, you have to pay attention whether it's female or male ;) so in her case it's sono andata

    • @nicolanobili2113
      @nicolanobili2113 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@katrinadomi1 Not precisely, for instance you say "ho corso per un'ora stamattina" (I ran for one hour this morning)... What you said, namely that verbs of motion always require "essere", is often taught as a rule in language schools, but it is rather a statistically preponderant case.
De facto, there is not a 100% rule on how to determine the auxiliary verb. In most cases, you use "essere" with intransitive verbs and "avere" with transitive verbs, but there are some exceptions.

I'm learning Italian, my native language is spanish and I'm also fluent in english. I wanna do it as fast as possible because I also want to learn ASL (sign language) and french. My first option was german but I tried researching a bit and it kinda intimidated me (the pronunciation sounded a bit too hard for me, at least now it does, I'm only 14 lol) I decided to wait until I'm older to take professional classes or find someone who can help me but until then I decided to learn Italian (and the other two I mentioned). Guess I gotta thank quarantine for giving me all this free time, thanks for the tips!
