Thanks Mat. There is still a good concentration of members in our local area but you're more than welcome to make the trip across the pond to join us 🇺🇸 😀.
Great video. I'm just starting up racing after watching the father in law for so many years I'm 25 and looking to buy some stock birds or youngsters for next year is there anyway I can get in touch with Dereck becasue them youngsters look great thanks
Hi Chris. You'll need a shed or outbuilding to keep the birds. I'm sure fanciers will gift you birds to start off. A bag of corn is around £13. The cost to race is around £300 per year. It's well worth it though!
I need your help/advice please. I live in a terraced house and I am a pigeon lover. I just don't know if I am allowed to have them in my back garden. Could you please help me out. I live in Birmingham, UK
Hi Liviu. Yes you should be allowed to erect a pigeon loft as it comes under your 'permitted development'. I'd contact your local council; they'll advise you on what size your loft can be.
Hiya Richard. If you're just starting with pigeons then I'd go to the RPRA website and find out where your local club is. I'd then try to find out who the best fancier is and try to purchase some birds from him or her. We'll gift you some young birds if you're just starting out and are able to collect or send for them. Atb, Carwyn
Can you just buy the birds from derek as I can’t find any info to inquire about them as I’m just starting up I can only find info from years ago but I thought he had stopped with pigeons thanks
In all honesty this was a fairly brief visit due to the current Covid situation. Derek has a wonderful team of birds so it would make an interesting video taking a more in depth look another time.
What an absolutely clean and beautiful loft full of fine fine birds.
Very beautiful loft..
always present and always watching!! god bless keep safe watching from philippines 🇵🇭
Kind regards Herbert 👍
@@carwynharrisracingpigeons9387 more loft visit 🥰
That's the plan Herbert. I wanted to visit some lofts during the off season but Covid made that unworkable. Hopefully during 2021 👍

Good luck mate. All the best to you guys. Our first race is 12th of June. Can't wait any more 😂
As I said in the video, we're hoping to start in 4 weeks but that's Covid and bird flu dependant. These are still challenging times.
Great sales person
Yes Derek has made a good living from pigeons. To achieve this in the UK takes some doing 👍.
Top video again mate. All the best for 2021. How many youngones you having for this season.
We're aiming for around 40 Richard. Hopefully get 35 to the first race 🏁.

Hi Jordan. If you add me as a friend on Facebook, I'll forward you his details.
Premier stud closed down didnt it? Or was it just the east yorkshire one
Yes the Hull stud closed down a few years back but Derek moved it back to South Wales. He brought a number of the top racers/breeders with him.
