Man, if I had a work-from-home situation where people paid me a lot and just left me alone to do my own thing, I'd be so happy with that! So much time for work that people won't pay you for (theoretical physics and math research, philosophy, psychology, literature, etc.)
I really enjoyed this video. I might not completely agree with some points on the wfh solutions, but I do overall agree with the premise of "the importance of documentation for your colleagues and for self organization". Also love that you mentioned social life here! Balance is key. Gotta workout, Gotta have fun outside of work, gotta up your metal health prevent burnout and increase longevity at work! Looking forward to more :D
@@TheAlmostAstrophysicist Taking time off is so important........friends, family time, hobbies, sports, personal projects, chores/errands, etc.! Next week heading down to Virginia to chill with some college buddies, explore, and work on a personal project to refresh and boost myself!
Thanks a lot! As a newly grad from my astrophysics phd. And honestly super lost after starting my data science gig. I appreciate all of the insights 🙏 I’m horrible at managing my thoughts. And starting to doc everything and copied your template now. Thanks again
Hi Priya, thank you for these insights! You are such an inspiring person to be honest. I often find myself struggling with documentation on Data Science projects, since I simply don't know how to go about it. I'd be happy if you could also share more insights about how you document your project journey. I'm definitely looking forward to watch your next videos! Have a great day 😄
I have also struggled with this as a remote-only DA/DS in marketing. Client visibility is limited to reporting meetings and rescue ops, and training and development is also very limited. I finally bit the bullet and started looking for new opportunity when in response to requesting more training, I received mentees to train up instead. I'm still looking for remote only work, but somewhere that prioritizes professional development and continuous education.
For sure - professional development and constant learning are like the baseline expectation for a good job, regardless of whether it's a wfh job or not! Good luck in hopefully finding a new job that is more fulfilling and cares about your development more!
Hii ,,I have been watching your videos(which are really helpful)for quite some time. I am studying in 11th grade and gonna finish it real soon,, I wanna know more about getting into colleges in data science field .
Hey Priya... recently there's been mass firing of employees in Facebook, Twitter...so does this thing applies to Data scientists as well...I mean how to prepare yourself mentally/intellectually in that case?
college freshman here, I hope I don't have to work remotely in the future. I think I just enjoy seeing actual people face to face and getting to know my co-workers
Hi Priya, in one of your other videos you mentioned you applied specifically to Startups when you were looking to move from Nielsen. Could you share what resources you used to find these Data Science jobs in startups? Thanks and love your videos!

Oh for sure - the flexibility is amazing! I feel like it's mostly a thing in tech and not in other industries unfortunately

Thanks so much! Totally agree - I'd definitely go crazy if I didn't get any social interaction or take PTO and not think about work haha

Good One!
Loved this video! Would you be willing to share any of the templates you have for documenting your work/projects? :)
