Love it. Great first episode! Honest and to the point. New sub here after watching your C2C loadout video Darren. I’m off to do the same trail this summer so working my way through this playlist! I understand that nervous feeling. I felt a bit similar when I did the South Downs Way last year. Cheers 👍Ben

Walked the coast to coast 9 times now. First was 1990 and last was 2019. Unfortunately my poor legs are not up to long distance now, now I'm 65. But enjoy watching other people's crossings.

I did a east to west crossing in 1992 after my break up with girlfriend. I remember it was foul weather from Robin Hoods Bay to Kirkby Stephen, missing out the nine Standards, taking the road instead. However it was glorious weather all the way to Honister Pass hostel. The next day to Cleator was chucking down with rain all day. The last day to St Bees was sunny and train home

I walk that cliff path 4 or 5 times a year and those cows are nearly always there. "Bad boys"? You need to take a closer look, lol. They never seem to bother as they have quite a few people walking through. Booked to do C2C in Sept so watching a few videos - will watch the full set and see how you go.

I'm soon to pick up my second pebble, and I was bloody nervous the first time and that was with tent and all.
Really, I can relate. I was crapping it and I don't know why because I had done the Kungsleden two years before.
I'm away again on the 13th of September, hopefully staying in the same farmhouse in st Bees before I set off.

I ll have to have a crack at that walk. I ve done the Pennine Way twice in 13 days but that was a long time ago. No chance now I can average as much as 20 miles a day. 15 a day will be a good day as I m over 70 . One thing I ve noticed about your very light looking pack is that you are a rarerity nowadays in not having a hip belt adding to the total weight. So I m ordering an Atompacks 40 litre at around 500 grm . Its half a kilo lighter than my ULA Ohm2 pack we never had hip belts and really I can t see the point in them. They don t help the pack weight at all .I want to carry the least weight possible as we have to tote this up against gravity up the hills.
I watched Haze Outdoors on his CTC ultrlight attempt and it was like watching a tragedy as a lot of his lightweight stuff did nt work especially the Vibram 5 Fingers barefoot shoes which had me wincing just watching him .Its a rough trail , no good at all in barefoot shoes as he found out in just a few miles. I hope you fare better .
