    Wow I was happy to view this receipe. My mother in law used to prepare this every year and it was just superb. When she passed away, I felt sorry I did not take the receipe from her. This is, I think exactly how she used to make it. Many, many thanks. Will try it in the next mango season

      This does bring back many memories, Rita, thanks for sharing yours :) I also remembered how my mother would let us, as children, observe as she carefully prepared this pickle. We've come a long way since✨

    Good morning Florency,
    Nostalgic recipe with plenty of sentiments attached to it.
    My dear mother would prepare mango pickles of different varieties exactly the way you are demonstrating yours.
    Music, of course, with soothing strumming to whistle along as I watch with keen interest.
    Let it happen soon that we can at least taste the yummylicious pickle as we imbibe the juices.
    Excellent editing and strumming.
    🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒🍓🍑🍍
    A few fruits to place my appreciation on record.

      Hello, Janice!
      This recipe certainly digs up memories from the good times of the past :) With the restrictions back in place, the best I can do is send you a glimpse of our ‘purument’ through this channel! I gratefully accept your appreciation for the videos we put up, thank you so much💐❤️💕

    Do not discard the soft seeds. It's a wonderful medicine for diabetics. Powder the seed after drying them in the sun. One teaspoon morning and night with a few sips of water.

    🤤🤤 the thought of raw mango itself makes one drool. Hmm...this is something new....but getting the right kairi got to wait...still don't see them in market yet ☹

    • @FlorencyDias
      @FlorencyDias  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is one of the most traditional pickles in Goa✨ And you're correct, Aslam. You must find the right kairi! I once bought the small raw mangoes with the hard seed, unknowingly; I have learned from my mistakes 😂 Make sure you ask the seller to cut one up to confirm.

    I remember our Hindu neighbour bringing a big jar of Miskut for us everytime we went to Goa for our summer holidays as kids. However, she would not stuff the mangoes. She used to cut them into pieces and use the Miskut masala. The pieces were nice and crunchy and so full of taste. Please share how this can be done ... I think it will be much faster than stuffing the mangoes... Thanks

  • @peacedsouza

    Thanks for your mouthwatering recipe. For the brine do we boil the water first, take it off the flame and then mix in the salt or do we put both the water and salt to boil together on the gas?

  • @thelmadias8330

    What is brian water

    • @FlorencyDias
      @FlorencyDias  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, Swayam :)
      Brine is a solution of water and a high amount of salt. This helps preserve the pickled fruit for long and makes them tender over time. Hope this helps💫

      Remember not to use iodised salt. but also not shindhav/sindhalu/rock salt/black salt. it has to be sea salt but not iodised.
